  • We Won! Who Would Have Believed!

I am absolutely thrilled. And you should take much of the credit. You encouraged us and badgered us to keep bombarding Congress with emails. When it seemed that the Democrats might cave, you prodded us. You pushed us to keep the pressure on even when the cause seemed hopeless. Great job, Glenn!

  • re: Does The Weekly Standard ever publish anything at all -- on any topic -- that doesn't turn out to be humiliatingly false?

Glenn's got him on the ropes - bang - a left - boom a hard right...Weekly Standard drops to the canvas!

    Great work, Glenn - you're a hero!

  • I'm sad for poor William Timberman....

His ears probably ring so loud from being bad-mouthed?

W.T. may need to visit a orthodontist? W.T. has barb-wire

rusty braces on his teeth and they will need to be loosened.

He thinks the pink curlers in his hair are giving a headaches?

  • Pelosi sells out after all?

    Per Howie Klein http://firedoglake.com/2008/03/15/helping-blue-america-decide-what-to-do-about-democrats-who-vote-like-republicans/

So why did almost all the Blue Dogs support the House bill? They know it will never become law. Even if it ever managed to pass the Senate -- almost impossible -- Bush has vowed to veto it. So what happened? Sources in the House tell me that Pelosi, Hoyer and Emanuel promised the Blue Dogs that they would be on the reconciliation committee with the Senate charged with hammering out a compromise.

  • Gads.

Behind closed doors, the FISA spy team captured what?

You telling us that every single member wore high heels and asked for a raise?

Were the House members ruminating why they were Not served chocolate milk?

Someone teach those on Capital Hill that to get brown milk and chocolate chip cookies,

A select member has to walk behind a donkey, and a elephant, and pump upward the dang tail.

  • Sinnard

LWM will sit here all day posting links about how Ron Paul is a racist and using them for his guilt by association nonsense. Yet, I don't see him spamming his stupid hyperlinks regarding Obama is his supposed bigotry and racists connections. He is merely a blind partisan who worships the warmongers and the status quo. A tired, scared old man who is afraid that if anything really did change, it might interfere with his old man routine and he might not be the bettter for it. It is actually fairly boring trolling him because it is always the same thing, him playing apologist for warmongers, the military, and the American Empire Project.

LWM doesn't have a formal education? Why doesn't that surprise me?

    -- Chris Sinnard

I know. I have tried to 'engage' him before and all you ever get are half ass-ed links that do not support an argument since one was not made; they are just smears and other like items.

I also know that lwm and all his many, many handles are meant to support the big government norm. It is odd how he thinks that slime attacks are really going to convince anyone that freedom is a 'bad thing'. But, there it is.

  • OT - Tibet

If you want an absolutely hilarious (shouldn't use that word, people are dying) demonstration that applying the universally promulgated "business principles" of productivity, productivity, productivity, to a news organization leaves it (or any organization, actually) unable to anticipate change, look at the current situation unfolding in Tibet. The big news organizations have been caught with their pants down. When the demonstrations started, it was a major deal for Tibetans, but the Beijing based news bureaus had been sipping the Chinese kool-aid for so long they had no concept of a problem in Tibet.

So then the Chinese special police beat some of the Tibetan monks, and the people on the street blew a gasket. How does it get reported? Well, the Chinese government, contrary to the popular opinion in the press, is an autocratic and repressive government that uses a lot of force, and isn't particularly disposed towards non-Han minorities. It's hard to convey that when your Beijing bureau has been promoting business in China and using their best adulatory terms to describe a peace loving beneficent government for years. And it's really hard to cover a rebellion against the Chinese when all your contacts in Lhasa are ethnic Chinese to be reached by phone, and the beneficent government closes the region to foreigners.

So you end up ludicrously quoting the head of the PLA saying that only police are being deployed the military is staying out of it, underneath a picture courtesy of AFP showing the PLA deployed in downtown Lhasa. And you end up with stories like, "They burned all the shops down, except for the Tibetan ones." In Tibet. Makes sense. Don't you think if your source is named Liu he's probably not Tibetan? I mean, there is a non-Han minority that typically has the surname Liu, maybe you should ask him about Mongolia instead. Tibet is a former country. You don't have the ability to cover a country twice the size of France. Some productivity.

And people wonder why Americans haven't got a clue about the rest of the world.

  • I am watching ...

Better yet, expect LWM to claim all the Obama racism stuff is merely "right wing propaganda", which we all know is A-OK when smearing someone LWM doesn't like, e.g. Ron Paul. He has even linked "Mainstream Libertarians" like the drunken idiot warmonger Eric Dumbdero in order to smear Ron Paul.

IT is so much easier to not take him seriously when one realizes what a hypocritical closed-minded self-serving warmonger he really is.

Shoot, I have never taken him seriously. I am just trying to make sure that his methods are apparent to all who read here. Especially his main backer Timberman. Odd though, even though a worshiper of big government and socialistic programs, Timberman seems like a normal "liberal Democrat" but somehow professes to love lwm's methods and posts.

  • After untold smears LWM says: I can't decide

Bucky1 to lwm: You claim that Dr. Paul is a racist

lwm: "I happen to think he is but I said we'll probably never know."

    !?!

After all the slim, smear, and unfair attacks you don't f'ing know?

Bucky1: even though thousands upon thousands of people say you are wrong.

lwm : "Thousands upon thousands of people still think George Bush is a great President. Thousands upon thousand of people who voted for him twice don't think he's so great now. What's your point? ..."

Local people who know him. People who had babies delivered by him and sometimes for free if needed. The local chairman of the NAACP!! I saw the utube of his interview.

You are a pathetic little creature; or you play on on TV.
