-- L.W.M. pretends to be a magician ...
Well, why not? After all, he can not think or make a cogent argument. He seems to disagree with Charlie Reese (registered Democrat) about what makes a good citizen.
But where are any counter-arguments? Where are any logical arguments? Timberman trained him, and he "loves his antics".
Other must decide for themselves.

re: Question
Not to rain on the parade (OK I'm rainin'), but is there anything to stop our government from commissioning our allies to spy on us , and then share that information ? Sort of a informational extraordinary rendition? -- mikeinportc
Ah yes, a good example of why all this examination of intelligence resources helps the bad guys. I believe you're referring to the NY Times outing of the Swift Banking program, where EU central banks could trace financial paper trails, and the US asked for access to that information.
What was a very good source of information, was completely blown for no good reason, giving a crash course to terrorists of what not to do, and how to avoid scrutiny.
Keep up the good work. With that kind of help Al Qaeda may send folks like you a certificate of commendation for enabling death and destruction across the globe. -
L.W.M. This is not a Saturday love letter to you... but...
You be nice.

If any of the poodles steps on a drain, the dog won't go down the sewer.
You be nice.
Somebody at the bathroom stall at the trucker-stop-latrine must have roared?
Who woke-up Glenn?
I blame L.W.M. A mess.
Sing Mr. Rogers favorite song?
shooter242 will never go down the drain.
L.W.M. You instill fear in the Salon reader.
No, no never, will you go down the sewer?

Glenn, and all others interested
But the certainty they expressed combined with the gloating makes it impossible not to point to it, at least it did for me.
-- GlennGreenwald
Just for the record, I think it was also worth noting, as I did in two separate comment posts in this thread, that Goldfarb, in his diatribe, wrote that he doubted any of the telecommunication company CEO's hesitated when approached by the government to 'help'. In fact, of course, Qwest's CEO is on record of having done so. Who knows for sure what the others did at first?
Goldfarb also wrote that the telecommunication company CEO's were approached just 'days after September 11, 2001. In fact the record shows that they were approached approximately seven months before September 11, 2001.
So Goldfarb should not only be embarrassed about gloating, but also about having either failed to do the most rudimentary research, or having failed to tell the truth.

Morning, GC!
The sun is coming up nicely, my celeriac friend, but there'll be no mopping -- or moping -- today. In an hour or so, I'm off to Flagstaff to help elect some delegates to the Democratic National Convention. The party busybodies have promised us a long and tedious day, with a lot of balloting needed to get the job done.
They've also promised us lunch, but I don't have high hopes for that -- think high school cafeteria. Since the election is on the NAU campus, I think I'll sneak off with a friend to the nearby Beaver Street Brewery when they ring the lunch bell. The food's good, and the place will be filled with serious college students, who are serious about things that it's a lot more fun to be serious about. Do you remember?
So keep the faith, but beware the folks with the glittery silverware in one hand and a list of the faithful in the other. Also the foghorns and the irritable chihuahuas. Maybe Pedinska and Anonymust will drop by later and help with the mopping.
As they used to say in my old home, Have a nice day. As trite as the sunrise, I know, but when people mean it, it's just as glorious.

Quit digging, shooter242.
What was a very good source of information, was completely blown for no good reason, giving a crash course to terrorists of what not to do, and how to avoid scrutiny.
You mean like President Bush stating in a public speech back in 2001 how we would start tapping their cell phones and searching through their financial records?
Something like that?

Oh I see.... you must think then that Bork isn't entitled to the current rule of law for some reason. Why is that? Are you making access to the law off limits to some on the basis of their thoughts? Tsk. Tsk.
Please provide quotes of where I claimed or stated Bork should not sue..
All I was doing was pointing out the total lack of congruence between Bork's vociferously stated opinions and his actions.
And gosh darn if some liberals don't just love seeing others in pain. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.
Yep, the DEA is composed entirely of liberals who wish to keep people in severe chronic pain from access to adequate pain medications.

[Arne]: "I left work early today and listened to Sean Hannity on the drive home."
I do not understand this. Many here on the board say they listen to Savage, Limbaugh, Hannity, or other crazed right-wingers. Why? It is pure drivel and hate-mongering.
My sweetie asks the same question. I tell her that it's good to know what the enemy is up to. I report on some of the most arrant eedjitcy on my blog. Knowing the Rethuglican "arguments" helps a bit when you're faced with them in real life (and they do crop up; the DodoHeads will gladly parrot them). You've heard it before and you have the rebuttal (and the facts) at hand to demolish it.
But my sweetie says it isn't healthy.... ;-)
Cheers,

Kitt.
I noted what you said about CEO Quest who said "No" to the request to snoop?
I do have to admit with a name like Joseph Nacchio you want to say Thanks You.
I request CEO Quest to counsel all other NSA snoops about old fashion fine ethics.

If the government wanted to steal Kitt's Nacho Chips, HE (Kitt) would scream,
"Hey, these are notch-yures chips. Get your own old-bag of Planter's peanuts."
I gotta clean the home because guest are gonna visit and say, "What a big mess!"
