The Flaws In Generalizing . . .
My dad, lawd love him, was a man of strong convictions and he didn't mince words. He use to say things like, "Americans are a&&holes . . .", or "Politicians only do two things well . . . . lie & pander", and, "Folks get the leadership they deserve".
Glenn writes, "The fact that he's being re-elected with no opposition demonstrates his extremely strong political standing, i.e., that he cast these votes because they reflect what he believes. What's to celebrate about the fact that someone like that -- with that belief system -- is returning to the Senate?"
In other words, he knows he has the support of the majority of folks in Arkansas, n'est ce pas?? Which means my dad wouldn't get a cigar for his generalizations. I don't know about Americans, per se, but it would appear that most Arkansanians (?!) really are a&&holes . . .
