    -His announcement today on Meet the Press, I am sure, was met across this country by millions of rolling eyes.-

    I don't doubt that and I don't suggest that I am ecstatic. I can't honestly speak to his motivations but I have to admit that any curve-balls right now make me nervous.

    There is much at stake and another four years of GOP control could seriously bring the US to its knees if its not there already. Yesterday on CNN I watched a portion of their financial show, In the Money, Your Money, whatever, and I was taken by the tone which was bordering on alarm. The upshot of it was that fuel, food, etc., are trending through the roof, unemployment is rising, 30% of mortgages nationally are going south and, the big one, US consumers have never before carried so much debt per capita, the factor that makes the situation so much more economically precarious for middle-class Americans than at any other time in history.
