My Impression Of The Obama People
Or many of them, is that they have a glass jaw. Hopefully the candidate does not.
We're going to be watching some of these Obama supporters have heart attacks born of outrage around here over the next few months. Maybe they will gain some empathy for what the Clintons have dealt with all these years.

It's Hard to Measure
I hear the purely personality-based attacks coming from the right, and I try to determine whether or not the left offers anything like it. I think to Bill Clinton's act of pegging Obama as the black candidate, and I immediately think he's behaving like a Republican. I keep looking around the left-o-sphere for attitudes that parallel those of the right, and all I generally come across are people insulting Bush for behaving the way he does not for being who he is. Rarely do I see pure fact-free insinuation from the left, and when I do, it appears to be extremely marginalized.
I'd really like to get a firm grip on how we on the left treat the opposition as compared to those on the right. But it seems to be nigh impossible for me to do since I'm on the left. A social science-type study may be in order here. Anyone know of one already done?

We cannot fear the right-wing attack machine. To fear what they might do or might say, is to give them our power. To let fear change OUR process is to allow the gop to select our candidate.
I agree that re-uniting this country and marginalizing those would would divide and oconquer for profit, should be the number one priority. Choosing money or outside influnce (party) over the good of the country is treason. Is was and will always be (benidict arnold).
Free speech? Does the KKK have a radio show? A tv propoganda site? Who would fund that? Did the dixie chicks have free speech when they spoke out against bush overseas? Obviously not? Did WArd Churchhill have free speech when he said america was behind 9/11? He was a professor at colorado univ. He was fired by Bill O'Reilly. Rosie O'donnell?
But we should fear what these criminals might do and say? Reminds me of a criminal that will bring people down with him in court. So he scates off scote free. The gop and their spin machine is nothing bu tlies spin and discreditiing. It is now known propoganda. Even those who watch it, now, know what it is. Willful ignorance is dead for the gop. they can no longer live in an alternate world (reality). Why? Accountability and credibility. the gop doesn't have it. Without that they ARE irrelevant.

So the gop is irrelevant. they are dropping like flies. they leaders are criminals. They have no candidate and the hard right-conservatives rendered themselves irelevant. Let them take the irrelevance they've earned. To not to that does them no favors. If they are never held to account, they may feel the rules do not apply. If they never have to face a consequnece for living in a false reality, then why leave the cave of willful ignorance.
We must hold then to account. We must not fear them. Do give the gop that power is to ignore the last 30 years. It's to verify their criminality. We can't do that. If we are a nation of laws and justice. If we believe in e primus unum , they must face the consequnces to having no accountability or credibility. To not do so does us all a huge disservice. Think about the future. think about presedence.
Hold the gop to account for their lies spin and discrediting. Do not fear it. To fear the fascists is to give them your power. Fear does not exist. Obama Should Have Condemned the Flag
Is Obama a communist? Of course not. Should he have condemned the hanging of the flag? Absolutely. If a bunch of McCain supporters had put up a Nazi flag with a portrait of Goering in a campaign office, it would be reasonable to expect McCain to condemn it, and this situation is really no different (with the exception that Che and his Communist allies murdered a lot more people than the Nazis). -- cestmoi123
1) A portrait of Che Guevara is not a flag, not even when it's printed on cloth. If someone hung a red hammer & sickle flag up while prepping his offices before his arrival -- please let us know about it via credible links. Otherwise I'd suggest finding a different venue in which to conflate a romantic pop image with the Nazi flag.
2) Your pompous demand is characteristic of the smear-machine tactic (first accuse, then demand specific grovelings). Sen. Obama should give you Nothing.
The media smear-machine has on-the-fence white and Hispanic voters to work with. I honestly don't know what kind of luck it will have, but Obama seems to be a more difficult target than the patrician Kerry. At this point, I'd rather watch his game than give him advice.
