But the RWers are busy blaming anything slimy on the Clinton camp:

"Nope. Wasn't us. We didn't do it...."

Glenn (from the post)
Up until now, Obama has received relatively sympathetic treatment from the two-headed right-wing/media monster because he's been the anti-Hillary, and hatred for her resulted in affection (or at least restraint) towards him.
As I point out (click at sig), the RW "Hitlery"-hating foamers are actually talking about supporting her because Obama (as the actual prospective candidate) scares 'em more. Boo!

... there probably aren't very many priorities more important than cleansing our political process of this type of dirt and petty distraction.
In the "good news" category, there's this:

The Tweety Effect in in effect
I think what we saw with the "Tweety Effect" in which voters actually voted for Hillary in part to stick it to a media pundit in backlash is here to stay. Sure, this nonsense works on that hardcore 20-30% but I believe now that the rest of America regards the media and this rightwing underworld with great suspicion if not outright contempt.
I'm not sure anything the rabid right can do is really going to make much of a difference. They have alienated and horrified the independents way too much right now.

Polemics: the ugliest meme wins, Jane, you ignorant slut!
Let's talk about the Billary Clinton experience: her vote on the Patriot act; her vote to authorize the Iraq disaster... Etc. Etc. Etc.
Yes, it is terribly important we get a woman into the White House, and I'd vote Hillary Clinton over McCain in a flash - but she has a past to overcome and it isn't a pretty one.
I am very hopeful. People (especially young people) now know what a meme is. The crap advertising that we, and a now very wise new generation has been bombarded with doesn't work anymore because a whole new generation now has the skill and insight to see this. EVERBODY'S B.S. METER IS BETTER, BETTER, BETTER!!!! OK?
And don't get me started on the presidential pardon given Marc Rich. What was the reason for this. I want Hillary Clinton to give me an answer now. Thank you.

More Money
This is also why Obama cannot be lured into McCain's cheap stunt of opting for public campaign financing. He will need mountains of money to combat the shit-storm that's coming. (And frankly, given the "Swift Boat" affiliated lunatics and their hatred for McCain, he might want to re-think his position, too.)
In these days of free-lance hate mongers with deep pockets and no scruples, a candidate would be foolish to volunteer for a fight with one hand tied behind his or her back.

@Kitt
Is this a trick question or do you yourself have an answer? If so, let's hear it. Besides, I don't see the connection. Obama hasn't even completed the primary run yet. Carter was president a thousand years ago. Why is that relevant to what is happening at the moment? Are you telling us that we should immediately be "wery, wery afraid" like Elmer Fudd even before the primary is over.
This is not a trick or rhetorical question. History tends to repeat, until lessons are learned. I'm not a presidential historian, but my recollection was that Carter came to the presidency after the excesses of the Nixon/Ford presidencies. He campaigned as a Washington outsider and on promises that he was unable to deliver on. The economy ended up a worse mess than when he started. Along came the Iran hostage crisis and with his perceived weak handling of the crisis, he became a one-term president preceeding 3 terms of Repub presidents.
This is relevant to this moment because (while the details are different) the domestic political (high hopes and expectations of change following a presidency of excesses), geopolitical (Middle East tension/conflicts, resurgent Russia) and economic (possible stagflation) situations seem to bear some historical similarities. Any president who tries to effect too much change and consequently accomplishes little will have their party severely punished in the 2010 mid-term and 2012 general elections.
Oh, and what is an "Independent" anyway? Is that kind of like "Undecided"?
Independent means not affiliated with either party. I am undecided and am asking to be persuaded beyond rhetoric about hope.

funny how no one mentioned the bush family/nazi connection back when
well-documented. from the guardian:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2004/sep/25/usa.secondworldwar
funny how the bush dynasty benefitted so greatly with the deaths of the Kennedys. not saying they were involved of course. still.

Hot Flash
I know this is really off point, but the BBC is reporting Italian scientists are claiming success in finding the G-spot in women.
Just thought you'd like to know ...

I know what Independent means. I was being ironic. Although it does just mean undecided. Which at some point equates to thick as a brick. Well, if you want to vote with the lockstep Republicans what is there to decide? If you are a Democrat you have a choice. I just see "Independent Voter" as a phrase meaning self congratulatory, evasive horse-shit.

@ Kitt
Ya I know but since HRC is using Bill's presidency as a major part of her 'experience' she's vulnerable to a LOT of questions about it. And any question she didn't answer because she didn't have anything to do with some specific thing, then would bring more questions about what exactly her experience was in the Bill presidency so she could be questioned on those things.
Right or wrong I think it would potentially be devastating in the general election for her.

Michelle Obama
I was just watching Hardball--what an infuriating experience!!!!!!
Discussing, Michelle Obama's comment about her "first time" being proud to be an American...on one side, a right wing bigot avoiding the race issue and claiming that she was taking a 'hate america' liberal stance. On the other, a black woman mincing words and trying to recast the comment.
30 years after the civil rights acts, can't a black woman say t loud...the US royally screwed black people in the most offensive way for hundreds of years!!! Jesus H. Christ, its certainly not a secret....
