    Ah, for the good old days when we had public utilities -- you know, kind of a quasi-socialistic state where things like electricity, water, sewage, and even the phones belonged to, well, us. Then the crooks came in, bought the 'infrastructure' for a song, whittled down the workforce, neglected the upkeep, and set about sucking us dry . . .
