Couple of thoughts
@sysprog
Rush: This is the kind of stuff President Bush hates doing, by the way, and I'm sure he doesn't want to go in areas like this, but he's canceled his Africa trip to push this thing and get it done because it's crucial.
Going to Africa is the kind of stuff 'President' Bush hates doing. Its really far and nearly everyone is black there.
@JKP1000
I’ve thought for the past several years, as ‘fear’ and ‘being frightened’ have been the hallmark of every Republican speech, that the most obvious rebuttal the Democrats could make would be to point out that the Republican Party was the party of “fear”. Not fear-mongering, which assumes somehow that they’re in control and just using fear, but to paint them as the party of FEAR. Of being SCARED.
The obvious irony is that the fear-mongers are the ones to be feared.
It should be turned on them, used to deride them, to laugh at them, to mock them for being overwhelmed by America’s enemies.
I do what I can...
@Retired Military Patriot
Apparently his (McCain's) ambition to be president, not serve the nation and its people, is more powerful than having the courage of his convictions to stand up when in his heart he knows he should be more loyal to his nation than his party of fear.
What's that little GOP sing-song? Right...flipflopflipflop
