  • Reid asked again for extension

McConnell said no after he said we're all gonna die after it expires on Saturday.

  • Bush Haters

Glenn you and the rest of your ilk are just Bush-haters. Your hatred of Bush has blinded you to reality. You simply can't be taking seriously on this or any other subject. So of course John Roberts isn't going to be confrontational with McConnell. He hasn't been driving mad with BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome) like you. So he knows that McConnell is an honorable man and would never do anything wrong. He only wants to protect us from the evil terrorists. His motives are pure as the driven snow. Only someone suffering from BDS would think otherwise.

  • Conservative Slayer

Is that the best you can do? A sneeze from Sean Hannity would be more caustic.

  • oomex

I do believe Conservativeslayer didn't believe s/he needed to close the snark tag.

  • Oh, brother

If only those prying, nosey lawyers could get to the bottom of the president's secrets. I just hope they have hazmat suits available when they do.

  • omooex

Weren't the three MIA senators for the final vote the ones who are still running for president? At least Obama stuck around long enough to vote of the amendments. He did, I believe, have a late plane to catch to WI to camapign. The other two were not there all day.

And while I agree that he didn't lead, neither did Clinton, and both he and Clinton issued strong statements against immunity. I can only assume that they're not taking chances with any such leadership being used against them in the general. And I can only hope that their game plan, once elected as president, is to actually reverse all of these insults to the constitution.

It's a tough call, when politics comes up against policy. And I'd also argue that not voting at all on a bad bill is not as bad as voting FOR a bad bill. E.g. Iraq, Kyl-Lieberman.

Everyone needs to make up their own minds on this one. It's not cut and dry.

  • The gops are so sick ~ Send pink, purple, yellow, and white Roses. Happy Valentines Day

There worst than a whole bubble off plumb.

If we don't know where we are going we'll never get there.

Farmers are harmonious. Gops are not pasteurized or homogenized. ho ho!

IMHO --- GOPS are Defiled. They are infused with filth and reprobation traits. Doomed.

GOPS are deficient sub-humans and worst than any viral disease. Use a fungicide. Truth.

  • Bravo Rep. Holt

Just like Rep. Holt says, we all have to be considered terrorists, because the NSA is unable to target terrorists, but has to scoop up everything to read off the Intertubes , as they are doing in the secret room in San Francisco. Therefore, we all get our email read, all our phone calls listened to, blog posts read, in the mindless, blind hope that they will stumble on somethin'. Can you imagine the piles and piles and pile of crap they are wading through? My crap!

And I'm trying to do me harm. Yup, an existential threat to the survival of the nation I am. Better get the van washed so I can look good on CNN. Tell John Roberts he can just hide his prying eyes.

I want to be careful here, so I'll say I actually voted for Obama. The only reason is because he'd be the first non-white president. I would have voted for a woman too, as long as it hadn't been Hillary, and its nothing about her personally. That would just mean back to back dynasties for two decades and that's just an ugly precedent to shake. I'm currently taking a natural selection approach to voting. If we select for candidates who seem to have some of the characteristics we are looking for and we are conistent about it, then someday, we will actually get candidates who really do have those characteristics.

That being said, there are literally no differences between Clinton and Obama. There was nothing more pressing than voting on this bill. Legislation is like a disease, easy to stop as a bill, but once metastasized into a law, very difficult to undo. I don't believe that anyone will have the clout to undo this; the new FISA will probably be permanent. If anything, I think Obama's action was even more unctious, in that it seemed more calculating, and because he has purposefully run his race as the guy who doesn't pull this kind of crap.

I will probably vote for Obama, but we have to keep our eyes open and looking forward. He is not Mr. Right, but he is Mr. Right-Now.

  • Goodcelery!.

I've never touched a steriod in my life. I don't even know what a steroid is. Furthermore, I'm not sure I want to know what a steroid is. (...is it like a fake/faux/bot cow?)

    They should hold hearings.

Along those lines, I never touched Monica, neither. I swear.

Hatch can take his geese-crap and shove it up his orrin. In my lucid moments. I actually heard a Republican Rep. (forgot name) yesterday on cspan2, who was an ex. FBI agent, say the Telecoms were like the good patriotic people who 'helped' him every single day when he worked for the FBI. And I thought to myself: every single day this FBI agent had someone break the law and spy/wiretap american citizens without a warrant?

That is one loose fbi goose. that's what I meant to say. yes.

like water off a ducks back,

    bah.

  • bahhumbug?

    pasteurized goose poop?

    It's still yuck. chew oats.

  • Cosnervative Slayer

Retractions and kudos, the writing conveyed a basement level intellect, which is a compliment to your skills at sarcasm.

  • fbi is to prosecute fraudulent predator lenders?

Yea. ask Floyd Robinson, Alphonso Jackson, and Henry Paulson?

I'll sell them a Laundromat in Waynesboro Pa. and foreclose it!

O, Project Life Line? A "Hook Now Alliance." A long personnel -!

okay. I get in touch with my local fbi agents and report W.C.C. bah.

They know what I'm saying....okay. I'll get in touch and report Real Estate Bank Fraud. Care.

  • @ GG

Sorry you were sick. You're right you have been posting lately - not that you have any obligation to - but don't you think that the usual suspects have been a bit quiet this week? Maybe its just my perspective given I've been bored at work and looking for more material.

I never accused anyone of "pro-Hillary scheming", nor do I think that anyone other than Syndney Blumenthal is working for Clinton's campaign. But I know that in poker people love looking at good cards, and I figure that journalists like writing stories about how their candidate is winning.

But thanks for the sarcastic condescending replies, there's no better way to put honest questions to rest than by attacking the person who asked the question and knocking down straw men arguments. I'll leave the questioning to the Serious Journalists next time.
