You must really want a rise.

I want you to pick your sorry ass up off the floor so I can slap you down again. I could use the exercise.

  • Pro War

Remember when the Republican catchphrases on foreign policy condemned "nation-building" and acting as "the world's policeman"?

That was during the Clinton administration. Can you remember back that far?

Why was it so wrong for Clinton to engage in what Republicans called "nation-building" and acting as "the world's policeman" but it's perfectly ok for Bush to do it?

Sheer hypocrisy would be a good answer.

  • Really?

"I want you to pick your sorry ass up off the floor so I can slap you down again. I could use the exercise."

I shit smarter than you Walter. You could learn a few things from my ass.

Though I'm not surprised it is your instinct to slap. A very lefty form of aggression. Slap and then mince off probably.

  • Whispers

The fact that you cannot see how the Democrats could beat McCain without utilizing your preferred strategy could be seen as a limitation of your vision.

Except that GG never said any such thing.

    Did he?

    You're just making this up.

    Let's discuss your limitations, dude.

Okay. Filed into the WTF hall of fame.

I was wondering when you'd get around to the lewd invitations. Sorry, I decline.

FFS Walter, do you actually read anything? The final paragraph of his anal-ysis says:

"it's difficult -- really impossible -- to envision a Democratic candidate defeating John McCain without aggressively making the case that that sort of wild militarism and imperialism is destructive to America's future and to both its military and economic security."

Which will be belied when the Democratic candidate wins (as they almost certianly will) without making any such case.

So that's what you did with your brains. Bet you miss them now, huh?

I had no idea neocons like yourself were responsible for the policies of Democratic candidates.

But thanks for conceding the election. Tell Huckleberry for us, wouldja?

  • total shite

"So that's what you did with your brains. Bet you miss them now, huh?"

Here's a suggestion Walter; think of all the would-be clever things you want to say in reply to my posts and put them in one post. It makes you look pathetic to keep posting two line would-be smartass replies to the same post; as though you realise the first is inadequate and try to improve on it.

Of course, the first reply was inadequate but the second was totally shite so you've done yourself no favours.

We're not posting for your benefit, neocon. If you must know, we're laughing our asses off over here.

How about you? Ready to put both barrels into your computer monitor yet? Mind you don't waste the dog by mistake this time.

While a normal person might say WTF to the rantings of the righty troll du jour, I find them fascinating. Beneath the bluster, hostility, and craziness, one can't help but notice the pathologies, hanging out like a plumber's crack, beneath the tough-guy words. Masculine insecurity is always the primary one, as evidenced by the transparent references to others in feminine terms like "mincing." I bet Jeff Gannon uses those words too, between "dates."

Ooh, it's manly to have a barroom brawl at the keyboard.... kind of like a war others must fight.

The next one is projection borne of self loathing. Being a slavish devotee of a twisted ideology that requires hook, line, and sinker adoption of all its tenets, no matter how disordered or contradictory, the troll must believe that others possess similar mindless fealty. Hence the constant mind-reading and lumping together of eveyone's views.

The last, and perhaps the saddest, is the comfort with, and even desire to be loathed. Why else are they here? I guess they're used to it.

  • @ JuanValdez

Note how both Paul and Kuchinich are having to scurry back as their congressional seats are now under attack. The money does not like folks who talk out of turn...

True indeed. Joe Cimperman, probably Kucinich's most dangerous challenger, is the darling of corporate Cleveland. I don't think they care much about Iraq--this is more of a local grudge--but "the money" always likes anyone who can beat Kucinich.

Please don't tell me I've been indulging Pro War's taste for masochism.

If that's what he wants, he should volunteer to be Bush's torture practice dummy. The blood of one more of their own on their hands isn't going to make much difference.

  • Counting wars

    Well hold on there, Walter.

Some of those wars were necessary. At least I hope so.

    Just a couple?

Thanks for doing the counting for the dingbats though. They can't say now that we don't answer argument A with answer A.

  • Indulgences

Walter, I'm afraid you have. But don't worry, because it's been a singular delight to watch. Kind of like the horror movie where you keep yelling, "Don't go in there!" But the clueless ninny does anyway, and you aren't really sorry about it.

  • Cocktailhag, Baldie McEagle

    My pleasure.

    The Chicken Doves

Elected to end the war, Democrats have surrendered to Bush on Iraq and betrayed the peace movement for their own political ends

MATT TAIBBI, Rolling Stone, Posted Feb 21, 2008 12:00 AM

Quietly, while Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have been inspiring Democrats everywhere with their rolling bitchfest, congressional superduo Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have completed one of the most awesome political collapses since Neville Chamberlain. At long last, the Democratic leaders of Congress have publicly surrendered on the Iraq War, just one year after being swept into power with a firm mandate to end it.

Solidifying his reputation as one of the biggest pussies in U.S. political history, Reid explained his decision to refocus his party's energies on topics other than ending the war by saying he just couldn't fit Iraq into his busy schedule. "We have the presidential election," Reid said recently. "Our time is really squeezed."

There was much public shedding of tears among the Democratic leadership, as Reid, Pelosi and other congressional heavyweights expressed deep sadness that their valiant charge up the hill of change had been thwarted by circumstances beyond their control — that, as much as they would love to continue trying to end the catastrophic Iraq deal, they would now have to wait until, oh, 2009 to try again. "We'll have a new president," said Pelosi. "And I do think at that time we'll take a fresh look at it."

Pelosi seemed especially broken up about having to surrender on Iraq, sounding like an NFL coach in a postgame presser, trying with a straight face to explain why he punted on first-and-goal. "We just didn't have any plays we liked down there," said the coach of the 0-15 Dems. "Sometimes you just have to play the field-position game...."

In reality, though, Pelosi and the Democrats were actually engaged in some serious point-shaving. Working behind the scenes, the Democrats have systematically taken over the anti-war movement, packing the nation's leading group with party consultants more interested in attacking the GOP than ending the war. "Our focus is on the Republicans," one Democratic apparatchik in charge of the anti-war coalition declared. "How can we juice up attacks on them?"
