It's probably legal under the PAA to wiretap the phones of the entire Republican delegation to Congress, because they're obviously conspiring with Osama. "Osama is mighty!" "Osama is powerful!" "Osama will defeat you!" Jeez, it's like our own version of Lord Haw-Haw or Tokyo Rose.
How often can these criminals get away with it before people stop listening?
... they really don't let up with this terrorist crap, do they?
Do the hilljacks in the Red States even buy into this crap anymore? Surrender to terrorists? Come on.
After all the lies, exagerations, distortions, manipulations etc, why does anyone listen to these people? How can anyone keep a straight face when the Bush Administration comes up with their latest tall tale? Are we represented entirely by gullible idiots?
Y'know...when I was a little girl, my favorite uncle used to pinch his thumb between his first and middle fingers, wave it in front of my face, and gleefully proclaim "Gotcher nose!" After about a hundred repeats of this stunt, I became wise to the fact that my nose was, indeed, still on my face and my uncle merely had hold of his own thumb.
You'd think a few hundred grown-up government representatives would figure this out at some point...
> It's probably legal under the PAA to wiretap the phones of the entire Republican delegation to Congress
I've been saying that that's exactly what the next president needs to do, and be very blatant about it. Spy on every Congresscritter, no matter the party, who voted to let the President do it. Beltway elites seem to think that government abuse is only something that happens to little people, while they themselves are immune. They are very wrong, and I can think of no better way to show them that than to take all their secret dirt and rub their noses in it.
If I hear a White House shill swear that Al Qeada is on the run, i know that means someone is looking to take some of my money to fund an endless occupation of Iraq.
If I hear a White House shill swear that the Al Qeada threat is growing, i know that someone is trying to defend the need to take away more of my rights.
than terrorists. that's why the people should have oversight of the government. that is why democracy is important, and americans should try to get it. mike gravel has a plan, have you read it? or are you hoping the politician cat is going to protect the mouse people?
Owns us.
Would someone tell me how we ended up with such a bunch of chickenshit Democrats? Oh, sorry, forgot for a sec. The Dems are IN ON THE SCAM! Why else would Harry Reid use his best moves to get Bush exactly what he wants? Think about it. No one, and I mean NO ONE, could possibly fall for this same lame bullshit time and time again. It HAS to be something else. The Dems in congress SIMPLEY MUST BE IN ON THE CRIMES. There can be no other explaination. And these were the people we thought would stand up for us. WRONG! It's like calling the Mafia to fight the Bloods. No matter who wins, they'll still come after you when all is said and done.
bin Laden: Achmed, my friend, how is the long-term Collusion of Terror with the librofascist Democratic party doing?
Achmed: Not so good, Ladenator. The brave and freedom-having Republicans have successfully defended the telecoms from potential prosecution for years-long violations of telecommunications acts.
bin Laden: Well gol-blast it! That's a right booger in the sugar, ain't it.
The swarthy brown peoples are a coming!!! Head for the hills!!
I am sorry, Glenn. This behavior is so commonplace now I am having a hard time getting any more angry than I have been for the last 5 years.
When do we start the revolution?
OMIGOD. That is so so so so scary. Now go get a warrant
Because the MSM refuses to call them on this kind of BS, preferring to reinforce the myth that the GOP are the only thing that can deliver us from evil.
"Al-Qa'ida is improving the last key aspect of its ability to attack the U.S.: the identification, training, and positioning of operatives for an attack in the homeland," he wrote in the 47-page document.
...that the oh so macho president isn't saying "Bring 'em on!" to this one? This is the administration that accused the military and intelligence people of cowardice, the Democrats of treason and the American people of lacking patriotism. This is also the administration who, within the same testimony as above, referred to the Musharraf government as "the legitimate government of Pakistan." Yeah, right. Suspended the constitution (POC), put the judiciary under house arrest, usurped power, rigging elections, murdered the opposition, trains and sends suicide bombers to the neighboring countries, forces its own citizens to engage in suicide bombings by threatening to kill all the relatives, prosecutes the victims of rape for adultery, rules without Constitutional authority from a military commander-in-chief position.
I guess that would constitute a legitimate government to the Republican party.
They should have asked Messrs. McConnell and Hayden about the disappeared prisoners in Pakistan and the ruling by the Pakistani Supreme Judicial Court that handing over prisoners to the Americans to be taken to Bagram was illegal extraordinary rendition.
I have completed sending letters to my congressional delegation demanding that they begin prosecutions for torture under U.N.CATCIDT. Failure to prosecute and punish is also a breach.
Are we safer now since W has been in office or are we not, which is what McConnell, Rockefeller et. al. are telling us?
the Democrats in Congress call for more oversight of Al Qaeda. The Repugs are running them with hardly any checks or oversight. We can't afford to let such an important component of US state security to be so poorly mismanaged.
I mean, we haven't had a high state of alert since last August? Come on! we're hardly getting our money's worth here.
Maybe we can at least get the terror alerts signed by a secret FISA court. What's Dodd's position on this?
Much of the initial coverage about Fort Hood turned out to be wrong. Is there anything wrong with that?
The accountability imposed by another country for the CIA's kidnapping and torture reveals much about our own.
