    I believe we have legitimate reason to hope in this aspect and I'm not a Pollyanna by nature.  The reason is that Obama polls well among the Evangelicals.  His standing is only going to rise if he takes down their worst enemy, Hillary.

    There's lots of people on both sides who are sickening of the right wing gasbag rants.  If the racial screed amps up too loudly in the general election, it may backfire badly.  The country is in bad enough shape both abroad and domestically without racial division being sown at home.

    Social justice is beginning to play a larger role in the Christian mindset.   More than a few Sunday morning sermons around the theme of "What would Jesus say to Rush Limbaugh?" is not unrealistic and the effect could be devastating to the Republicans.  Support for John McCain in this group is not as strong as it might be since he's not a religious zealot so the famed Reagan coalition could actually splinter.
