O, Canada...
Antoine,
You’re trying to defend the indefensible. Look, here’s what Canadians have set themselves up for: Any Canadian citizen can be hauled in by the government to defend anything he or she has said or written should anyone – anywhere in Canada – have the slightest objection to it. Does that sound anything like freedom? How high the bar of proof is set matters not at all. The idea of having to LEGALLY defend oneself for one’s own ideas is enough to chill any true, valid exchange. That this defense would be conducted before one or a number of cheery bureaucrats is downright terrifying.
And – sorry - like American “hate crime” legislation, any laws that engage intent, by definition, sanction thought crimes.
Canada and Europe have stumbled – idiotically - into a self-concocted minefield filled with kangaroo courts and self-righteous jackasses. You can’t seriously make a case for it.
Look, it’s plain to see that Canadians are proud of their country and its dynamic impact on civilization and the human chronicle: Curling… mukluks… uh… Rainier Ale… But hate speech laws constitute a big, dumb step backward.

@San Fernando Curt
Ah yes.... the traditional curling jokes. That's brilliant. Thanks for that, it really helps underscore why the rest of the world finds Americans so appallingly ignorant.
Canadians rarely stumble into minefields filled with kangaroo courts and self-righteous jackasses since most of those fall south of the 49th parallel.
But do keep jibbering and capering about, it really helps. Really.
God, I'm glad to be Canadian.

'God, I'm glad to be Canadian'
I'm glad, too, scullboy.
Stay there.

No problem Curt....
I prefer to keep the 49th parallel between me, kangaroo courts and the minefields full of self-righteous jackasses.
Keep jibbering and capering, though. I could watch it all day.

I'm watching the Democrats cry racism on each other. Good times.
I'm watching (or more accurately, listening) to the RW foamer contingent claim that the Democratic candidates are "racist" because they have some difference in emphasis on who did what when. All the while, the real racists went over to the Republican party many years ago if they weren't already there (see, e.g., Lott, Thurmond, et al.).
I know you folks like it when the Democratic candidates fight amongst themselves, but you're hardly concerned about any Democratic "racism", even imagined. In fact, you love it ... as long as you can sling mud at the Democrats, but you'll go all racist yourself after the nominee is chosen. Guaranteed you don't like MLKII ... or the Civil Rights Act.
There's a reason 90+% of blacks vote Democratic. They aren't fooled by the likes of you ... or Limbaugh.
Now FOAD like the slimebucket you are.
Cheers,
