Illustrative New Hampshire snippets

The decisions of New Hampshire voters are not yet known. One can't say the same for the journalists covering the election.

The letters thread is now closed.

didn't take it as yelling at me...and please yell at bop. to take his meds. now to find a way to avoid being caught...

Glenn is playing with his amen chorus tonite( cause he was MIA on election)

he selected a favorite tonite to get you folks animated... I know he is pleased by by entry into his choir but he is angry with me becuase I am not a doting follower and one who does worship Glenn's overkill and need to spin to much( his ego is off the charts)

Back to real issues....Clinton is going to lose tonite and it is going to really sting, she know she will never win in SC a state of Black voters tired of has been white candidates...

I love this.....

I feel bad for Edwards

He was my preference but if a deal is cut to avoid serious bloodletting and we see a Clinton/Obama ticket in 2008, I can live with that. What consolation prize does John Edwards get?

@ Gwool

Was it an impromptu moment that struck a chord with perimenapausal women everywhere who vascillate between tolerating their husband and wanting to tear their murderous faces off at the slightest change in estrogen?

I'm perimenopausal and this is just a bullshit statement.

As for Nancy Kerrigan whining, if you'd ever devoted your life to a dream - and I'm talking about pretty much commiting every waking moment for years to some form of training (and I've done it) - that was subsequently destroyed in such an underhanded manner, then you might not consider it 'whining' you ass.

And I don't even particularly like Kerrigan.

@patg

now to find a way to avoid being caught...

Tell your better half to monitor the TV while you hold down the fort on the computer? It might work.

;-)

Hey Thrasher!

They just called it for Clinton.

It's one thing to be a gloater, it's totally another to be a gloater AND a loser.

Bwahahahaaa!!

Loser. Practice, President Clinton. President Clinton. President HILLARY CLINTON.

Loser.

Tuesday, January 8, 2008 07:39 PM

Still going ...

Whatever happens tonight, whether Obama wins or Hillary Clinton wins, the race, for a change, will not be over after just the first two primaries.

LWM

OMG LOL. That's great. Copied and saved. Had never heard that one before. Love it!

Tuesday, January 8, 2008 07:42 PM

Every time,

Thrasher, that you chortle "lol" or exclaim "I love it!" and "I am happy," it comes across as precisely the opposite. Can you really be laughing out loud? You seem very sad and bitter. Certainly you can - and will - assert that I am mistaken. I probably am, as usual. Nevertheless, that is the impression you give. My heart goes out to you. I wish you the best.

Sincerely,
Gordon Ginsberg

okay.

To those concerning some expressed concern:

O. Zzz, oh. ya's Hervey?

Oh! I am just A's wondering

What A's a ya-gonna say...(on-line) next./

Re: g_c_wall

That's one of the finest pieces on what we're facing I've seen to date.

It is chilling what the want of something can do to people. As soon as one wants something badly he or she becomes attached to the strings held by those who can satisfy that desire. It is one of the main reasons we are where we are today, and it is not good.

A-yep.

But change is in the air...

Polling

This is an excerpt and a link to polling methods used by the AP and Yahoo.

No more than one time in 20 should chance variations in the sample cause results to vary more than plus or minus 2.3 percentage points from the answers that would have been obtained if all adults in the U.S. were surveyed. The sampling error margin is plus or minus 3.4 percentage points for the subsample of 847 Democrats and those who lean toward the Democratic Party, 3.8 percentage points for the subsample of 655 Republicans and those who lean toward the Republican Party.

Thanks be for that

the race, for a change, will not be over after just the first two primaries.

All the egg goes on pundit face tonight.

Tuesday, January 8, 2008 07:53 PM

Chin up Thrasher....

I suspect, in the long run, most of us here prefer your candidate over HRC. But for the short term, we rather enjoy it when the chattering classes are revealed to be clueless.

Your posts have invited the same reaction for the same reason.

Snippets...

2. Informal. A small or mischievous person. [perhaps a journalist w/ an agenda?] [emphasis mine]

Oh, boy, I'm both! Now B will be calling me a 'snippet'.

Tuesday, January 8, 2008 07:55 PM

thrasher

i am not necessarily a clinton supporter, but why would a loss in NH mean anything? iowa & NH provide great opps for one on one contact, and less media control (spin). but that is about it. they don't carry a lot of delegates and history has shown that neither is necessary to nomination.

makes for great speculation on the pundits' part, as they can't seem to find the voters...

Tuesday, January 8, 2008 07:56 PM

Snip~Pedinska...

Glad you're back... I've missed your presence here today.

Tuesday, January 8, 2008 08:01 PM

@ Pedinska

Re: Gwool, and some others...

Just too damn stoopid to realize that caucuses and primaries occur in single states and Iowa and NH are hardly represntative of the nation at large.

A Minor Caution

New Hampshire has been called for Hillary. It's a three point spread. However, Hanover, which is Dartmouth turf, and Durham, home to the University of New Hampshire, are not yet counted.

Tuesday, January 8, 2008 08:03 PM

whew!

I'm genuinely pleased for Hillary Clinton. Tickled, really. And, she doesn't have to be my first choice for me to feel that way. I want the race to be a race as close to the end as possible. I second Mishima666's observation. Never has it been clearer to me that our primary system, in addition to the electoral college, could stand some reform. I loathe the intended/unintended effects of the press' influence on this race. A pox on them all.

A very special thanks to you, Glenn, for keeping a firm grip on objective reporting. By keeping your preferred candidate to yourself (if you even have one), and by peeling back the layers of the press-onion, for once I feel like I'm examining my own preferences. Thanks for that. It's a profoundly powerful gift.
