Illustrative New Hampshire snippets

The decisions of New Hampshire voters are not yet known. One can't say the same for the journalists covering the election.

The letters thread is now closed.

Interesting at WaPo

The percentage difference between Clinton and Obama on WaPo with 35% precincts reporting is greater than the percentage difference between Giuliani and Paul. Clinton/Obama WaPo says is too close to call, apparently the grotto gargoyle of Christmas future has endowed them with the ability to call the same spread when they hate the guy with the lower score.

@Skeptical

Not me, WT.

I have never bothered with him. No interest. Check the other thread. I never responded to him once.

But I like it that I can still keep people guessing, even some one as sharp, discerning and perceptive as you, WT.

;-)

hmmm

Everyone is accountable for their opinion, Kitt, once posted. If you can't defend your position--because you can't spare the time, apparently--then why post it to begin with? You've posted twice now about how you're too busy to refute my argument.

And that's as much as I need to know about your opinion, I suppose. Good night.

Bebop-o...

Count me as another vote for trashing the expired antibiotics, and if Pedinska were here, I'm sure she'd say the same thing. You have to use them all up when they are first prescribed for you. I work with people who research the effects of antibiotic use on public health, so I know what I'm talking about, too. ;~)

I understand that silver is supposed to have a lot of curative effects, especially for burns and infections. If for some reason, you can't see a doctor, maybe you could find some kind of salve or bandages that include silver... if not, I'm willing to do a little shopping.

However, I'd rather that both LWM and ondelette weighed in on this suggestion before you follow it.

And, ideally, you should still see a doctor.

Bebop

I'll be honest. You're scaring me. I'm beginning to suspect an MSRA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus). You NEED to see a doc if this infection is not responding. In critters good vets suggest you should see a turn-around in 72 hours. If not, you have the wrong antibiotic. The fact that you mentioned the doc prescribed tramadol in conjunction suggests this infection is very painful for you. If a dog is interested in sniffing the wound that is NOT a good sigh. Get thee to a doc! Please!

"The Democrats are Angry"??!!

Bush has been (and continues to be) the worst president ever. He started a horrible and unnecessary war, used fear of terror to subvert the Constitution, took nasty politicking to new depths, I could go on and on. That Democrats are angry is not news. What is outrageous is that there is anyone who is NOT angry at Bush and everything he represents.

Clinton is going down tonight she is on her last breath..

Your hearts will be broken and a new day will be upon us..

Let me give you an exmaple in the mayoral race in detroit the usual white polling sites were at a lost becuase they were using land lines to do polling of course inner city folks used cell phones@ almost 100% so the traditional white polling people were lost at sea and thier predictions were worthless..

Obama will win tonite and HRC will fall hard because right now she really beleives she as a chance that is when defeat really stings...

Happiness is the meaning of life

Kitt: "What is the meaning of life?"

The answer is: happiness!

Everything everyone does is ultimately for happiness although the form may vary e.g. appreciation, enjoyment, fulfilment.

Someone earlier said we should crush the current Republican Party into the dustbowl of history or something; but even the warmongers think, "What's good for America is good for the world." In other words, they are working for worldwide happiness - it's just that their methods are wrong.

Yep, it's all about happiness.

(BTW, I have a great article on creating worldwidehappiness at http://www.worldwidehappiness.org)

Martin Gifford.

WT & LWM...

One advantage of Salon's requiring us to sign in with a handle is that our screen names are all unique. Iow, we cannot realistically pose as one another, except by posting anonymously, which makes the whole thing suspicious anyway.

@WT

In fact, I almost got involved, not so much in Thrasher's defense, but to counter an anonymous white racist wingnut who chimed in about black race riots in the 60s, by reminding him of all the white race riots, Rosewood, Oklahoma in the 20's, a few others, etc. But like I said, I'm just not interested, so I held my tongue. You didn't know I could do that, did ya?

omooex

Have you ever been polled? I have. They're notoriously persistent. I suspect that's because a decent poll/pollster will do a random sample. Once they have your name, a mere caller ID/answering machine won't necessarily slow them down. I've been 'harrassed' by the same pollsters for weeks - until I got so fed up I answered the call. Folks without land lines, obviously, may not be included. That may - or may NOT - have demographic implications. But, I'm not sure anyone knows. Maybe you do, in which case it would be helpful if you'd post that information and good pollsters will 'correct' the data for over/under representation.

Bebop-o...

Now bystander is scaring me. Apparently, I wasn't reading your posts closely enough today. Definitely see a doctor. Please.

My $0.02

I've come to the conclusion Thrasher was/is a spoof.

Tuesday, January 8, 2008 06:38 PM

@be bop-o

FALSTAFF. O, thou hast damnable iteration, and art indeed able to corrupt a saint. Thou hast done much harm upon me, Hal - God forgive thee for it! Before I knew thee, Hal, I knew nothing; and now am I, if a man should speak truly, little better than one of the wicked. I must give over this life, and I will give it over! By the Lord, an I do not, I am a villain! I'll be damned for never a king's son in Christendom.

- Henry IV, Part One/I,ii

- Shakespeare

Take care of yourself, bop; you're needed.

My point

Or my view, WT, is that Thrasher has a right to be angry. But what he's doing with his anger is hurting him more than the objects of his anger. He needs to work that out on his own.
