@Bamage: Perfect, thanks!
How about a plank declaring the War on Drugs a Horrible Misallocation of Resources/ Counterproductive, and supporting absolute decriminalization of cannabis?
I'll add that to my list. Thank you!

Front of Salon today Obama/Clinton Obama Clinton. Where's Edwards?
Go listen to Amy Goodmans Democracy Now coverage today of the New Hampshire primary. This is spooky
So incredibly disappointing even Amy Goodman ignoring Edwards today in her coverage of the New Hampshire Primary. It’s as if Clinton and Obama are the only candidates. It’s as if Edwards did not come in second place in Iowa. WTF is up with Amy Goodman? She has not even mentioned that Edwards is in the race.
I was astounded when I heard Mark Green of Air America’s 7 days in America(found out he is the owner of Air America) this past Saturday cheerlead for Barack Obama along with Arianna Huffington and Gary Hart. Mark Green did not bring Edwards up and when Katrina from the Nation brought Edwards up…Mark Green swept Edwards under the rug.
But Amy Amy Goodman is ignoring Edwards too.
What’s up Amy? What’s up Mark Green? We expect this out of Chris Matthews but you too.
What do these folks have against Edwards.
Go listen to Amy for yourselves. Fair and Balanced.
Glenn Greenwald might want to think about reviewing the so called “progressives” coverage of Edwards.

personal to bebop-o...
just to torture a lapsed turner a little more:
bubinga ! (don't finish!)
canarywood ! (won't sing!)
cuban mahoghany ! (can't smoke!)
hee hee hee
serious bidness: i *may* be heading your way sometime in the next month or so to visit a sister who needs a boot to her butt for various reasons; and wasn't sure if your cryptic plea for chainsaw help was 'real' or just foolish bebop capering and jesting...
in any event, as a novitiate, i need some good advice on some green wood turning, and maybe i could do a good turn for you if you needed brother tree chainsawed to manageable portions when i came up that way...
if you can manage to keep from making 'one last post' all day, mayhaps you could write (in the clear ? hhh) and see if we can help a brother out... artguerrilla(ATSYMBOL)alltel.net
oh, that reminds me:
(wallace voice) did someone mention cheeeeeeese ? ? ?

What a class. I fall asleep and wake up here again to say...
A thousands of insights are here...While sitting together and even when napping...Going and coming...Or enjoying 'our' own
genuine solitude.
Rumi ask- 'Which is more important 'our' genuine solitude or Freedom, or power over an entire nation? A little while alone in your (bedridden) room will prove more valuable than anything else that could ever be given you'...

The water wheel turns.
I blame Mona for this.

I have lived on the lip
of insanity, wanting to know reasons,
knocking on a door. It opens.
I've been knocking from the inside!
Real value comes with madness, the ego dissolves, and Rumi could hear music in the market-place from the hammering coming from the tin-smiths. The tricks and cleverness are to be given up...and that's the cleverest trick! Dance, if you've torn the bandages off. Dance in the middle of fighting. Dance in the blood. Dance, when you are perfectly free. Some 'stuff' can't be told in the public arena. Like Mr. Ash once mentioned about a donkey-who would belive you? No person. apologies to a frequent sizzle sound AMA gadget MRI etc., heh. Tease. (green pea soup)

Rainer Maria Rilke was a great poet of this century and there is something (not necessarily literal kneeling) in kneeling (being humbled) and the shift in what is depth or height...O, when the body strength is weak, and the knees bend from the weight....a radiant depth unfolds...(it's personal). There is so much to extract from here that's 'given' from others insights and shared personal experiences ( that's all I'm 'saying' I think, however, very imperfectly).
I'm always sent some Place in thought, and honestly...
I don't sit here constantly. I feel like a numb skull without a frequent 'shrink' visit here. I come back again and again,
daily and leave to tinkle.
Che Pasa ya's all'tinking?
Ya's can make us'a a'dizzy.
huh. who knows? me no know.

I'm with you, ondelette...
I still cringe when I hear Janis Joplin's lyrics used to "sell" ...not to mention all of the elevator versions of Beatles classics.
I could go on and on and on, but why bother? I would just be whining. Right?

@Kitt
The distinction I think I made was between a writer of fiction and a writer of dramatic poetry.
Shakespeare wrote for actors who spoke his lines within fully produced performances. Even today, actors who want to be challenged fully, want to speak Shakespeare's verse.
His influence, without demeaning or diminishing Oates, was and still is in theater.
All his other work which was not made for audiences to sit and listen to, was poetry.

@Jebbie
That’s the other side of my dilemma that the folks on this thread have made a good case for. Of course, I wouldn’t be against that as long as we don’t have too many Dems like DiFi and Rockefeller who aren’t my kind of Dems. I really think we need to elect new legislators who are on the bipartisan bandwagon and who will vote for what is best for America not what is best for the special interests and getting reelected.
If we don’t have compromise and consensus government, we won’t craft legislation that is what American needs. The Dems don’t have all the answers and healthy disagreement that ends in compromise can produce better, although less efficient, results.
I realize that I may be too idealistic and that has been part of my strength and weakness all my life. I can dream can’t I?

Checkmate:
Mark Green swept Edwards under the rug.
-- Checkmate
That's third time you've said that - verbatim - in this thread. Do you think we are all deaf or illiterate or something?
-
jebbie - re: Rush And Sean
I think you've got that right.

@RMP, Jebbie
At the risk of pimping too overtly, you might like my DR show comments.
