What I'm asking for here is equal treatment in sentencing if someone is found guilty of the same acts.

    -- shooter242

This "equal treatment in sentencing" you speak of. It doesn't, in your world, apply to Libby? Four felony counts resulting in no jail time. Others have and will spend years in prison for same or less. You're okay with that?

  • Edit

    Felony convictions

  • Cover-up

This has all the earmarks of a cover-up of the real story.

My prediction: some middle-level CIA fall guy will take the rap, and the higher-ups will never be touched.

    This is all so predictable.

    . You

Charges: You believe in freedom of speech, until someone says something that offends you. You suddenly give a damn about border integrity, because the automated voice system at your pharmacy asked you to press 9 for Spanish. You cling to every scrap of bullshit you can find to support your ludicrous belief system, and reject all empirical evidence to the contrary. You know the difference between patriotism and nationalism -- it's nationalism when foreigners do it. You hate anyone who seems smarter than you. You care more about zygotes than actual people. You love to blame people for their misfortunes, even if it means screwing yourself over. You still think Republicans favor limited government. Your knowledge of politics and government are dwarfed by your concern for Britney Spears' children. You think buying Chinese goods stimulates our economy. You think you're going to get universal health care. You tolerate the phrase "enhanced interrogation techniques." You think the government is actually trying to improve education. You think watching CNN makes you smarter. You think two parties is enough. You can't spell. You think $9 trillion in debt is manageable. You believe in an afterlife for the sole reason that you don't want to die. You think lowering taxes raises revenue. You think the economy's doing well. You're an idiot.

I can think of some here on the left as well our neocon koolaid drinker that are equally as authoritarian (with thier single-issue votes)that this analogy is indicative of.

Sadly none, seem to recognize it even in themselves-even having been told on countless occasions by posters here---to respect everyone equally with themselves. I have a great deal of trouble having any respect-for those who don't show respect.I fail to see any human qualities ie good-in people who want to cut and paste or pretend to be Encyclopedia Brit.

I know it's usually masking someone with a skewed self-image/damaged self-I have much trouble with people who hide behind pretense and don't try to be human.

    Great post.

  • Kitt.

At least your not a perfect human.

    You really meant feline convictions?

  • Getting It Backwards

    Aycharaych:

It's not paranoia when they're really out to get you.

No, you've got it backwards: even paranoids have real enemies.

The PNAC documents expressly pine for a new Pearl Harbor.

The PNACer's take power and almost immediately get a new Pearl Harbor.

"In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way." -Franklin D. Roosevelt

9/11 was nothing if not a political act.

I obviously gave you too much credit earlier. I think it plausible, and worth investigating, that the Bush Administration indifference and neglect was motivated by the desire for a pretext, and they got much, much worse than they bargained for. This is a loooong way from what the 9/11 tooth fairies believe. Earlier, you pretended to think like me. But this makes it rather obvious that you actually think like them.

  • Paul Rosenberg..

I've already stated that I have no explicit conspiracy theory.. I don't claim to have certain knowledge of what really happened.

But the juxtaposition of the PNACer's stated wishes and actual events leads me to think that there could well be a connection.

One thing I do know, if this level of connection between explicitly stated wishes and events were to happen anywhere other than America all the conspiracy nay sayers would be jumping up and down and screaming conspiracy!!

Being totally incredulous is just as much an error in thinking as being totally credulous.

Just like Nancy Pelosi taking impeachment off the table, taking the very possibility of a conspiracy off the table is a mistake.

  • Heh.

"In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way." -Franklin D. Roosevelt

I'd sure like to see some credible source for that quote aside from Brainyquote and WhatReallyHappened.com.

    http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/preplanned.html

It's as bad as Dunce Boy Snooter. He still insists Plame wasn't covert.

  • Fix already in?

    From Conyer's statment (via TPM):

Equally disappointing is the limited scope of this investigation, which appears limited to the destruction of two tapes. The government needs to scrutinize what other evidence may have been destroyed beyond the two tapes, as well as the underlying allegations of misconduct associated with the interrogations.

So, NO looking into what other evidence might've been destroyed, and NO investigation into the underlying crime of (to quote Jonathan Turley) TORTURE.

  • HTML question

why does my "blockquote" tag not end when I add the 2nd one?

  • He'll tolerate whatever his masters want

a prosecutor like Durham would unlikely tolerate undue interference

He's a Republican, isn't he? The idea that he'd be intolerant of anything Bush wants is pretty funny.

  • here's your source

So you have a paragraph nested in another paragraph and they both are closed at the end.

  • @JoeMommaSan

Fitz was likely a Republican as well.

Republicans with principles do exist. They've just don't get invited to all the GOOD parties.

  • Thanks, Paul

  • @bethincary

I say to you again, in all humbleness, I am a doofus with the computer, but pretty good with a dictionary; and I'm relying on you to steer me in the right direction, tech-wise.

Thanks for the referral to The Australian. It's now on my "to do" search list.

    Have a good one ...
