The interrogated detainees mentioned four prominent Saudi royal family members who had been involved with the 9/11 plot. All four have died under strange circumstances since. Saudi royal family/close ties to the Bush family and the Carlyle Group/mysterious deaths/destroyed evidence-anybody see a common thread?

Occam's razor
I seemed to have hit a nerve by not believing in the 9/11 conpsiracies. One simple statement of disbelief, and the next I'm being accused of supporting the Bush admin. First there were no explosives found in WTC. NONE. Those that say that there were, have to prove it. They haven't because they can't. WTC 7 collapsed due to an internal fire that weakened it's structure. Guiliani in his genius put his emergency command center in wtc 7, along with several hundreds of gallons of oil. The oil was to fuel the emergency generators. When the building caught fire, the oil fueled the fire weakening the structure and it collapsed.
Conspiracy theoriest need to learn a simple concept known as Occam's Razor. The simplest explanation is usually the correct one. Now let me ask you 9/11 "truthers" which is the simplest explanation? 19 hijackers hijack 4 planes and fly 3 of those planes into WTC and the pentagon, the last one crashing in a field in PA. Or the CIA (or some elements within) arrange for explosives to be planted in the twin towers, at the exact location that the planes hit. With the fore knowledge that each plane would strike at a different height on the building. Then arrange for a missile to fire into the pentagon. Then to take the plane that was hijacked and disappear it some where. For if a plane didn't hit the pentagon but a missile, then the 3rd hijacked plane and all it's passengers have to go somewhere. For the CIA to do all of this without one person having any qualms about killing thousands of people and not telling anyone. WHICH IS THE SIMPLEST EXPLANATION??? Ok now go back to calling me a Bush supporter. OH and get back on your meds folks.

The US constitution stands in the way of world government
The reason that they are destroying as much info as they can is because they were responsible (directly or indirectly)for the 9/11 attacks. A catalyzing event such as 9/11 is the key to turning an otherwise free and just society into a fascist, heavily watched police state... It's about control, and thats good for world trade and a necessary step towards one world government. As for the US constitution..... well, as good ol' G W Bush says, "The constitution is just a piece of paper"

You cite the gallons of gasoline Guiliani stored at WTC7-and he had been told it was in violation to do so.
Sorry CS-but one is just as bad as the other-criminality V incompetence and an investigation is warranted.

Perhaps it is the biliousness of too many holiday gatherings in too short a space of time talking, but today I have no hope of anything coming of the torture tape destruction, except a few sternly worded letters.
Of course, none of it matters since Sandy Berger once did something bad.
I hope your digestive tract and spirits are in better shape than mine, Glenn.

9/11 questions
While friends of mine call me crazy for 'not' believing in 9/11 conspiracy theories, I still have not seen much to legitimize them. The "Ocam's theory" cited by another writer is first objection. Factual evidence is second.
However, the fact the military did not scramble for a long time, or the missing 'black boxes,' are evidence that something else was going on. Incompetence? I think that probably explains the lack of scrambling. The black boxes? I'd need to see more evidence, as I 'think' they should be able to survive a fire that hot, and a collapsed building, but perhaps not.
Again, the investigators were not given the full facts. If you learn anything over time in the U.S., it is not the event that matters, it is the INVESTIGATION that matters. Controlling the latter, controls the former. Not who votes, but who counts the votes. This was seen in the Kennedy and King assassinations, as well as the Malcolm X one. So far the government controls the investigations nearly all the time.

One more thing
That the Bush admin obstructed the 9/11 commission investigation is beyond doubt. They stonewalled it at every turn. But the reason is why they did it. 9/11 "truthers" say it's because they were behind the 9/11 attacks. They were involved they say. Or a simpler explanation, to cover up their own incompetence. They had dozens of warnings prior to 9/11 that an attack was coming, and they did nothing. They didn't take the threat seriously. When it happened, they did what humans usually do, try to cover their asses. Deny responsibility. Blame everyone but themselves for it. So just because they obstructed an investigation, doens't mean they were behind 9/11 folks.

Surely there are few who would accuse Kean and Hamilton of Left bias. Maybe conscientious would be the best descriptive.
So, that they actually put these thoughts together is a tonic.
With a Justice Department as corrupt as the current one and a Congress crippled by partisanship, only citizen outrage is going to make something happen. I am not optimistic.
It does little good to be wise or eloquent in these circumstances; only advocacy will get us to a place where Constitutional integrity and "polity for the public" is assured some life in the future.
Letters to appropriate 'leaders' seem in order. To your friends might be better. Sow some outrage. It is certainly time.
