Benazir Bhutto was encouraged by Bush administration officials to go to Pakistan and attempt to negotiate with Musharraf on, at the least, a power-sharing arrangement for the country.

She went; she died.

It has been reported that Bhutto representatives failed to persuade the Bush administration to provide extra security for her in Pakistan.

Under those circumstances, how can the U.S. not accept some responsibility for the death of Bhutto?

I laughed when I saw Broder pimping for Bloomberg on the front page of the Washington Post.

Wait! Maybe this means the Post really is a left wing paper? Because, the only possible effect of Bloomberg is to be the "Perot" and split the Republican vote. So if the Wash. Post is pushing Bloomberg, maybe they want to see a Democrat in office? And why would they want that? Well maybe they've decided that the Republican field is SO bad that they rather have Hillary Clinton in office for 4 years and then run against her with a more reliable corporate fascist (I don't know... maybe Jeb Bush?)

Who knows. I think it is all about Huckabee fear, and the realization that Romney is a truly robotic and inhuman entity, and the rest are barely electable for other reasons. It makes no sense to me... but then the thinking of Republicans never has made any sense to me.

What can I say? Greenwald kicks all their asses! He says the things I would say if I had the ability. Far as I am concerned, Greenwald is a National Treasure. He should be protected by the Secret Service...

Only thing I would add to the discussion about whether he's 'Giuliani with two billion' is that Bloomberg may be shamelessly playing to the psycho wing of the repub to get acceptance, and that he would actually be much more pragmatic if elected. But, in that case, one would have to hope that he has been lying constantly in his slavish support for Bush and the fascists. But that's an insane position to be in ('I'm confidant that my condidate is a good deal more rational than he makes himself out to be - he only PLAYS a psycho on TV').

So forget Bloomberg - he's a corporate ass.
