"The Bush administration should announce to the waiting world that the United States cannot be charged with the responsibility for maintaining order in Pakistan, and does not accept responsibility for the assassination of Benazir Bhutto."
-William F. Buckley
12/29/07
Benazir Bhutto was encouraged by Bush administration officials to go to Pakistan and attempt to negotiate with Musharraf on, at the least, a power-sharing arrangement for the country.
She went; she died.
It has been reported that Bhutto representatives failed to persuade the Bush administration to provide extra security for her in Pakistan.
Under those circumstances, how can the U.S. not accept some responsibility for the death of Bhutto?
I laughed when I saw Broder pimping for Bloomberg on the front page of the Washington Post.
Wait! Maybe this means the Post really is a left wing paper? Because, the only possible effect of Bloomberg is to be the "Perot" and split the Republican vote. So if the Wash. Post is pushing Bloomberg, maybe they want to see a Democrat in office? And why would they want that? Well maybe they've decided that the Republican field is SO bad that they rather have Hillary Clinton in office for 4 years and then run against her with a more reliable corporate fascist (I don't know... maybe Jeb Bush?)
Who knows. I think it is all about Huckabee fear, and the realization that Romney is a truly robotic and inhuman entity, and the rest are barely electable for other reasons. It makes no sense to me... but then the thinking of Republicans never has made any sense to me.
What can I say? Greenwald kicks all their asses! He says the things I would say if I had the ability. Far as I am concerned, Greenwald is a National Treasure. He should be protected by the Secret Service...
Only thing I would add to the discussion about whether he's 'Giuliani with two billion' is that Bloomberg may be shamelessly playing to the psycho wing of the repub to get acceptance, and that he would actually be much more pragmatic if elected. But, in that case, one would have to hope that he has been lying constantly in his slavish support for Bush and the fascists. But that's an insane position to be in ('I'm confidant that my condidate is a good deal more rational than he makes himself out to be - he only PLAYS a psycho on TV').
So forget Bloomberg - he's a corporate ass.
And thanks for making me aware of the Unity08 org - I signed up there just so I could ridicule them!
I quickly scrolled via the comments without giving them due attention.
Before I'm off to the horse-race-neighborly pot-luck,
I feel like I chewed a whole tin-can size tobaccy round-tin of 'esoterica tobacciana' and gulped a bag of red-mule chew.
I feel I want to unload and dump a wad on the piano keys.
I sure hope no Salon readers are at the New Years Eve pajama party. I got a theme song about the mulberry bush running 'round in my head now-why? O, gosh by holly-golly?
~kovie said the Bloomberg's GOP crew have come down from "heroin to methadone" ....kovie is worth reading.
Skip me! sing skip to my looney?
@ 12:20? kovie~ I'd say your probably more accurate than me and some other 'few-stooges' running around the outhouse with bush, running 'round the mulberry outhouse with bush, and so early tomorrow morning? Bloomburg...Pretend He's Lawrence Whelk!
Sing it-gang...bubbles rise! The Lawrence Whelk Show- See the floating bubbles! Pop!
GWB.
While we all are singing merrily together- Cheers.
"O we run, run run round and round, round and round, and up and down, and run 'round and round a withered looking twig bush, O, run and run 'round the rotten-down, dilapidated, old outhouse of bush's GOP's, gops, GOP's..."(I'd rather go to Michele's house along the Potluck River anyway, any day, yea)
Chorus: "The smelly crew is in DC's town, we watch them run-run the greater world all-down, and
Capital Hill just itches their crotches?" all day long. huh.
Pedinksa's weezee cats made me say that!
~kovie. I don't want to mention some names because you give reputable folk a bad wrap-reputation. Most people claim to not know me @ social event-heh. kovie? apologies.
Did you imply the GOP corporatist went from sipping orange gator-aid juice to Mercury Oxide?
~What is the poisonous looking red powder, HgO? It's used as an oxidizing agent and chemical reagent. It's used in the manufacture of pigment of some red-lip stick cosmetics, batteries etc.,
I guess this is my Last Post for the year.
It's nice to know we can sing that Old Lang Lazy Song.
Also: We forgive each other! I Hope. We/me are here in the universe as Cocktailhag mentioned on the planet Uranus?
We act a bit moronic. A love everybody? The Bumbag Bush Comedy Bible Hour Show...exclaims...yes. Would NOT it be
great if they practice what they read/preach?
If I need wine money they give a dime. I found a copper penny at the curb a few days ago in town. I yelled Hallelujah so loud the crowd gather round thinking I was a travelling soap-box evangelist? I'll attend bible school tomorrow morning to repent for the year. I do declare it's a pain, YKW, to observe the collective lunacy.
The fool fools the fools. It's as if they wear a 'look-at-me fool's badge? Go get more free food? okay. It's a day of atonement? It feels like Thanksgiving? Happy April Fool's day?
I need some Pepto Bismol with seltzer water. I hope the get together is not a Hospice Prayer Party. Happy New Year. I hope that' Kosher to say?
kovie? You the pitcher for the Cardinals?
I feel like trying to guess Pedinska weight?
I gotta go play the trombone. I hope it's not a neighbor's funeral. I need to go on a honeymoon. My promise is to be more prudent next year.
My legal team told me the case will be dismissed.
I feel like dumping a girlfriend if I only had one.
Why am I cranky? I'll practice my pickpocketing at the party. Ya's can't just stay here boring everybody.
It's almost as bad as the NSA seeing via the window.
Why wish to watch 'patriots' pick noses? Happy new year.
