Hunter and Peggy Disagree on Bush
"He knew who I was, at that time, because I had a reputation as a writer. I knew he was part of the Bush dynasty. But he was nothing, he offered nothing, and he promised nothing. He had no humor. He was insignificant in every way and consequently I didn't pay much attention to him. But when he passed out in my bathtub, then I noticed him. I'd been in another room, talking to the bright people. I had to have him taken away."--Hunter S. Thompson -on meeting George W Bush at Thompson's Super Bowl party in Houston in 1974

Just a thought
Maybe Edwards should shave his head. That would teach those Republican poufs, like that toilet cruising Larry Craig, a lesson.

Apologize for all the Pakistan OT
But this version of things is quickly disappearing.
One of the doctors who attended to Bhutto said she had a bullet in the back of her neck that damaged her spinal cord before it exited from the side of her head.
Another bullet pierced the back of Bhutto's shoulder and came out through her chest, the doctors said on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.
Bhutto was given an open-heart massage, but the main cause of death was damage to her spinal cord, he said.
Found it cited at:
http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/2007/12/27/pakistan.html
Also disappearing is the fact that doctors worked on her for 40 minutes, she is now supposedly pronounced dead much earlier.
Still looking for the eyewitness accounts of blood pooling on the car seat after she dropped back in but before the blast, John Moore has her dropping suddenly inside before the blast too.

Let's clear up some myths
When the U.S. was under attack, he kept reading a children's book rather than rushing to save "Sally," and then flew off to a secret location rather than back to the place of trouble.
No, the first Bush heard was that a building had been hit by a plane. There was yet no indication that U.S. was under attack until the second plane hit, some 20-plus minutes later.
And it's standard Secret Service practice to evacuate Washington if it's under attack. And for all we knew as of mid-morning on 9/11, the U.S. was under attack. You'd never fly the president (no matter who he is) directly into a zone under attack.
Boy, we hear all the rhetoric about "talking points" that notably fails to flag all the usual liberal talking points that have amply been refuted.

Hey!
Anonymous doofus,
Your link to PointofLaw.
James Copland is affiliated with Manhattan institute. Peggy Noonan is a trustee there. You are an idiot.
Oregon Kid,
Overlawyered,com?
I'm not even going to look. Trust me. You are being confused and distracted by shiny objects.

In other words, Edwards operates on a simplistic principle and counts on the ignorance and gullibility of voters to validate it. So much for his condescending view that he looks out for the "little people." In fact, he plays them for fools and gets rich in the process.
Tell that to the little girl whose intestines were sucked out of her body in a kiddie pool because someone was too cheap to fit a suction valve with the proper washer. Tell me there aren't victims and victimizers. Tell me there isn't causality and fault.
Tell me, what compensation would you want if your niece, sister or daughter had to endure dozens of painful operations, hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills, and shitting in a bag for the rest of her life.
Wealth will be redistributed, either legally or otherwise. That is a fact.

another mythical talking point
They are always ready to leap on the smallest thing to dismiss someone with whom they disagree. From saying that Kerry looked 'French' to ridiculing Hillary's clothes - it was shown that a Democrat's appearance can and will be used against him/her
Oh, perhaps you forgot all the coverage of Florida Secretary of State Catherine Harris (a Republican) who was mercilessly mocked for her hair and makeup. Robin Ghivan of the Washington Post even wrote that Harris put on her makeup with a trowel.
Yeah, those high-minded Democrats, always discussing just the issues.

Yes, well...
When the second plane hit is when Bush was in the school room reading the book. That is when Andrew Card whispered to Bush that the U.S. was under attack.

@L.W.M.
Please look up the genetic fallacy under some page on elementary logic.
You don't look up the sources or try to deal with their actual arguments. You just dismiss them based on their alleged association with others.
Anyone who so boastfully broadcasts his/her poor thinking skills for all to see should be careful about talking about others' alleged fascination with shiny objects.

More Anonymous Cowardice

Ugly though she may be (and, as far as subjective values of beauty go, I think there is uniform, bi-partisan support on this one), I will personally always remember Katherine Harris as the cunt who rigged the election for George Bush. She could look like Angelina Jolie for all I care, a scumbag is a scumbag is a scumbag.
Its an unfortunate coincident that looks match ideology. It's not John Edward's fault that he's prettier than Mann Coulter, and that it parrots their inner raison d'etre is irrelevant.

Chapter 6
The Rigged Legal Deck
Torts and Takings (The Nanny State Only Gives)
In recent years, the nanny state conservatives have taken aim at the country’s legal system. One of the arch-villains in their mythology is the trial lawyer. According to the nanny state conservatives, trial lawyers can make 12 otherwise reasonable people award ridiculous amounts of money in damages when they sit on a jury in a court case. In the conservative nanny state mythology, activist judges are their accomplices, allowing trial lawyers to inflict harm on the productive segments of society.
In fact, the nanny state conservatives are so concerned about the extraordinary power that trial lawyers can use to influence juries (as distinct from the power that Madison Avenue marketing wizards might wield over consumers or voters) that they want the nanny state to rein them in. The nanny state conservatives want the government to sharply limit the amount of damages that these crazed juries can award. They also want the government to restrict the types of contracts that plaintiffs can sign with lawyers. The nanny state conservatives apparently believe that in a free market, there might be too much incentive to sue corporations, doctors, and other wealthy people for damages. Proponents of free markets might expect that individuals and corporations should be accountable for the damages they cause. But the nanny state conservatives believe that the government should intervene to prevent the wealthy from being held too accountable.
The Nanny State Conservative’s Myth of the Broken Legal System...
Free book online, well worth the time to read it.
There are plaintiff's and defendant's specialists out there. The bigger law firms usually take the corporate defense, not always but usually. You understand that when you have and have worked in the system. You'd know the truth. These big corporate defendants have in house legal departments drawing the big bucks whether they are being sued or not so this debate about costs being driven up is bullshit. Settling is always cheaper. That's why there are non-disclosure and confidentialty clauses in every settlement.
The Anonymous doofus can suck my intestines out of you know where.
