  • Reid is not confused

There is a telling recommended diary at DailyKos by thereisnospoon http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/12/13/3559/2099/574/421499 , which addresses this issue. This despicable behavior is not the result of confusion or weakness and they certainly aren't as naive as Nancy Pelosi pretends. http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5ggeAtsS2Wdlv3rvFrvJexIGpvpLAD8TGOEMG0 "GOSH! Who could have predicted that the Republicans wouldn't end the war"?

These venal cretins are calculating that they have guaranteed support from those who care and they can freely piss on our heads and tell us it's raining. This is all calculated to continue to degrade the Republican "brand" so they can elect even more dishonest and cynical Democrats next year. That's apparently, ALL they care about. That and their contributions. The nation be Damned, they are in it for themselves.

Reid SHOULD be removed from leadership and Russ Feingold put in his place. Unfortunately, there are probably only about 14 "Democrat" Senators who actually care. Every one of these PROFESSIONAL POLITICIANS should be contested in every upcoming primary until the Congressional toilet has been flushed.

  • Consequences..

I long ago figured out that the better my post and the harder I hit my mark the fewer replies I get.

I'm going to point out yet again that the anthrax mailer is still on the loose and that Democrats have shown zero interest in the investigation into a direct and deadly threat against two of their leaders.

That was military grade weaponized anthrax y'all, it was not cooked up by some wingnut in his cheetoh strewn basement, it came straight from ultra security government bioweapons labs.

Your grandchildren are so beautiful and bright, it would be such a shame if something were to happen to them.

These people, and I use the term advisedly, have already shown a willingness, nay an eagerness, to slaughter tens of thousands for their agenda. Why would they even blink at killing a few more?

I predict that no one will reply to my post.

You can't handle the truth. Col Jessep, _A Few Good Men_

  • Reid is taking power.

By ignoring the hold of one of his own party, Reid is taking an enormous amount of power from each and every one of our Democratic senators. By honoring Republican holds but not those of his own party, he is showing contempt for his own conference. Sen Dodd should be raising holy hell for being treated this way. Each Senator should realize that their holds will be next. Reid is acting like the little tyrant Bush. It does not matter if a senator agrees with Sen Dodd, Reid is treating the institution of the Senate like Bush has treated the Presidency, which is loathing and contempt.

The poll at the link below taken on October 24th of Nevada voters has Reid at favorable 32% and unfavorable 51%. 15% don't know nuttin' That, to me, doesn't sound like Nevada voters are all diggin' Reid.

  • Reid's virtuoso performance

GG: Put another way, the issue isn't that they're failing to impose limits on the President. It's not even that they're failing to do everything they can to do so.

Really. It's not just that Reid has set up a scenario in which it is difficult to prevail, he has worked hard at making it as difficult as possible. It's not that he made it inconvenient for his colleagues to oppose the Senate Intelligence Committee's version of the bill, he jacked the price of that opposition as high as he could. It's not that Reid has disregarded the opposition to basket warrants and telecom immunity, he's dismissed that opposition out of hand.

With this tactic, Harry Reid has aggressively flipped the bird at everyone who has dared to oppose the Bush administration's lawlessness. If I'd harbored any confusion, any uncertainty, any ambiguity on Harry's intentions, they are gone now. It's absolutely clear to me who, and what, Harry Reid represents. I hope he expects to be richly rewarded for his treason, and isn't selling out as a mere $2 whore.

  • Harry Cheddar.

~ I'll probably go to the barn after this:

Cheese. I'll go on my own after this comment.

Those phone #'s you requested USA citizens to call made this inevitable. I blame war. To all those who support the killing and appropriation of money that could be used for benevolent humanitarian causes, please 'ring'...

    The cell is 1-877-219-4402.

    O, or this- 1-304-263-0936.

    You may Fax:1-304-263-0936.

If at a gas station-fill pockets up please.

That's only if you belive the killing should continue. Ignore me if you are a more rational ( non-violent ) human Being.

No, it is not a date-rejection hot-line phone #. honest.

I figure: To grab the Be-Strong cards is best if you see a stack in public,

And to-be all you can be military motto is potential war propaganda, and a individuals potential death.

I mean no harm. I'll 'stuff' pockets with saved garden seeds too.

The cost of name-cards 'stuffed' into the pockets is not as terrible as a bloody corps arriving home in a big black-pocket death bag.

Recruit for a end to war.

On the other hand, as I read further into the article, it looks like those numbers were mostly due to Republicans not Democrats. In which case you have a point. Hard to figure how the Democrats of Nevada could unaware (or in favor?) of how poorly Reid is leading the Senate.

  • Conspiratorial Optimism

I like seeing a lot of the hypothesizing about a variety of leaders and issues which says that Bush Jr. and crew must have "something" on these Democratic leaders, some dark or threatening information which is forcing them toward Bush Jr. collaborationism and continual repudiation of Democratic positions.

I like it because it's at least a sort of optimism -- the idea being that, 'Hey, surely if Bush Jr. & company didn't have something held over these leaders' heads, they would be pursuing a more Democratic and oppositional agenda.'

On the other hand, it's sort of a lazy assumption, because like many conspiratorial approaches it simplifies the issue down to a couple of hidden barriers, with the assumption that once those hidden barriers were revealed and removed, naturally everyone would do what I think they ought to.

I wish it were that simple, but I really think it's more complicated.
