farragoNW re: macho Cheney
“The problem, of course, is tying courage to masculinity. Cheney's comments were sexist and, just like his actions over the last forty years, they expose him as a vicious coward.”
Good point. I thought about the use of ‘man up’ as being sexist and avoided using ‘balls’. But, as Colbert might say, “Valerie’s got bigger balls that all the neo-cons put together.” She operated behind ‘enemy’ lines as an operative of such an elite group that it took the most powerful people in our government to bring her down.

Mise en scene
[Low chatter, clinking of glassware. Dim overhead lights illuminate only part of an intimate meeting room. A soft and pasty man is surrounded by equally chalky students. The young men giggle nervously, eyes ablaze with admiration. Beside a slightly raised dais stands an overweight accountant in a black beret and sunglasses. He holds a tennis racket wrapped in construction paper, a craft-project attempt to disguise it as a firearm. It seems the University would not allow actual weapons on campus. Pity.]
Ladies and gentlemen, just back from an exclusive engagement striking fear into the hearts of our enemies, I present ... Jonah Goldberg???!!!
