Rudy Giuliani is the most ridiculous public figure ever

I Never Said The Attack On The World Trade Center Was A "Minor Annoyance"
The attack on the World Trade Center is the major key to our understanding of how government can be redirected from dealing with the legitimate issues such as human rights, resource depletion, etc. and focused on the relatively trivial, for purposes of exploiting the strength and resources of the nation in support of economic imperialism, which is, in turn, the source of "blowback", the resentment generated in other countries by cultural insults, political intrigues, and the expropriation of resources by transnational corporations based in the United States.
I am a supporter of and donor to both the Kucinich and Paul campaigns. I believe there is a substantial body of evidence that the events of September 11 were conducted with at least the knowledge of if not the connivance with, elements in the government of the United States. These attacks were the lubricant needed to enact a whole series of changes in our government which have not been in the best interests of our citizens. Dennis Kucinich has called for a truly objective investigation of the attacks, not one with a predetermined conclusion, as in the case of the Kean Commission. Ron Paul has also indicated that the matter needs to be further investigated.
No one wants to be ridiculed as wearing a tin hat but the paper bags most politicians are wearing over their heads are hardly less useful or becoming.
The actual threat to America's culture and economy posed by radical Islamcists is minute compared with the self-inflicted threats caused by our depletion on resources and our dependence on foreign goods and investments, as well as our national addiction to deficit spending.

Horrifying
The more I learn about Giuliani the more frightened I become. I can't believe I'm saying this, as a Massachusetts resident: I'd rather see Mitt in the office than this wacko.
-
Further Proof
This is just further proof that Republicans should submit to brain scans if they want to hold public office.
Every Republican candidate panders to the Christian Right Loonies when Republicans' records of broken marriages, indictements, and convictions stand in stark contrast.
The sooner these people are voted into a meaningless minority, the better. H.L. Mencken is proved correct every day.

The only "radicalism" feared by the establishment
The only "radicalism" that the establishment perpetually fears, eternally inveighs against, and would support any deterioration in the nation to support, is that radicalism which favors using democracy and the levers of government to improve the quality of life and the democratic powers of the vast majority of the population.
Giuliani risking an actual new World War is far less frightening to them than a John Edwards might by introducing Americans to the option of single payer health care.
No amount of world wide death and destruction is less preferable to the establishment than the tiniest degree of discomfiture of the ultra-wealthy.

continuing about communism:
Getting back to the Silvermaster files:
Joe McCarthy came onto the scene after the Silvermaster file and Bentleys' cover being blown by someone inside the US govt.
The govt. had essentially nothing now-to prosecute the infiltration of communists into the US govt.
McCarthy got hold of a letter that Sec. of State James Byrnes had sent to Adolph Sabath. In this letter, 205 people were named as working inside the State Dept.were actually communists. Some dispute the number at 57 as what McCarthy said. The number 205 is traced abck to Byrnes' letter-which stated that state Dept. Security investigations had turned up "rec. against permanent employment" for 284 persons-but ONLY 79 had been removed form thier posts-leaving 205 still on the State Dept payroll. McCarthy said he did not have the names of the 205 (because of the Silverstein file being blown open)-but did have the names of the 57 who were loyal communists.
By the time this letter with 57 names was brought forward in the Tydings Committee 4 yrs later-the names were outdated.
The Tydings com. findings went nowhere.
In 38-44 (HUAC) the House had committees chaired by sm Dickstein (himself named a s a Soviet spy)and Martin Dies.
This was also when the Hollywood 10 (and large portions of the media were investigated for being sympathetic to communism) was charged with Contemept of Congress.
In 1951 a second investigation of Communism was launched by the HUAC. Lionel Stander testified:
"I know a group of ex-fascists, america-firsters,people who hate everything including negroes, minority groups and most likely, themselves. These people are engaged in a conspiracy outside all of the very fundamental American concepts upon which our entire system of democracy exists".
More HUAC case came about in the 60s with the investigations of the Yippies. (By this time it was a case of many pro-marxists politicians to be calling any "yippies" or thiose who went against their ideals" as communists. I guess by this time-these pro-communist-pro-Marxists men were calling themselves "Neocons"- very ironic twist.)
In the 90s, an ex-Marxist who worked for ADL, was operating out of a UN office was identified as spying in San Francisco.
Irwin Suall gave testimony that his organization had 1 million memebers worldwide-and had infiltrated many govts. and had spied. I think it was the HUAC that investigated the case-but by them it was a case of "the fox guarding the henhouse".............
Going back over history since WWII-it is very obvious now that much of the news and media outlets had been propagandized to keep the public from finding the truth about the political affiliations-communist/fascist leanings of many neocons in politics today.
Maybe McCarthy was not the villian history has painted him to be-and maybe-he was really onto something profound about Communist infiltration.
A witchhunt?
Maybe only to those guilty-and so in control of the media.

@ futhark re: “third” party spoilers
“I am a supporter of and donor to both the Kucinich and Paul campaigns.”
To me, Ghouliani will lose unless there are voters who strongly dislike all Rudolf stands for and then give him the election by voting for someone in the general election who has no chance to win. I understand the desire to create a third party, but I fail to understand any argument that would give Ghouliani the presidency and monarchy.
