  • @ Paul Dirks

Thanks for playin' defense for me whilst I was temporarily indisposed. If Mr. Neill had stuck w/ assh*le, he might've had an arguable point. But, racist Zionist? And, SUGARMAN!? Them's fightin' words...

  • Level the Playing Field

So why do neo-cons get to make Nazi analogies with impunity but cry "foul" when we liberals make them? Podheretz' home field seems to be slanted against us.

  • The way I read that Zogby poll

is that it depends on how the question of Iranian nukes is worded.

If it is proven that Iran is sneaking in a military nuke program, as opposed to a civilian nuclear power program, it makes all the difference in the world how a lot of people react.

Thus far, there has been absolutely no proof, whatsoever, demonstrated by this administration that Iran is indeed working on a nuclear weapon.

Do Americans have a right to demand that their leaders provide proof of such evidence before going to war with another country?

Has our experience with the Iraq war taught us anything?

    Anything at all?

  • As long as they get rid of the right people I'm cool with it.

Other than the drama of saying 'atomic bomb' there's nothing inherently wrong with Iran using it on someone. If it's US troops in Iraq or all the Zionists, couldn't happen to a nicer bunch. Call it a great big explosion if that makes you feel better. Makes no which never mind either way.

I have a speech by Desmond Tutu delivered at the Old South Church in Boston recently. In it he clearly puts the responsibility for everything that's wrong and evil in the middle east on the Jews. I am 100% in line with that. No different than any other colonialist infection.

    Here's the speech

  • Good God

Am i the only one getting tired of being lectured by some holier than thou person who, nomatter the topic being discussed- has to constantly chime in and tell everyone else what we all should be talking about?

Are these people so damn arrogant that they think whatever is on their minds is "the truth", or is it that they are incapable of chewing gum and walking at the same time.

Yes, we know about PNAC. Its all over the place, we know the gameplan, we know what the neo-cons said, want, etc......

If we speak about the Pod its with that knowledge as background.

Or do you think you've discovered something new?

    Get over yourself, really.

The same applies with everyone telling GG to stop writing about Col Boylan. Want to blog about something else? START A BLOG AND STOP WHINING!!! Am i the only one who thinks these Goddamn backseat driving holier than thou liberals are just as arrogant and annoying as the neo-cons? Jeez!

  • If the American Right

has any ideas worth mentioning, they're keeping them well-hidden. I keep waiting to hear or read something - anything - that resembles a coherent intelligent analysis of world events. But all I get is this loony extremism.

Iran is Hitler's Germany. Sure. Germany was a highly- industrialized, populous country in the middle of Europe with the largest, most effective military machine in the world at the time of the invasion of Poland. Iran, by contrast, is a small, not very industrially advanced country with a militarily inept army (it was unable to defeat Saddaam Hussein's army which was rolled over in a matter of days by coalition forces in 1991), no nuclear weapons and no way to deliver a nuclear weapon if it had one. And of course, as with all nuclear powers, Iranian leaders know full well that a strike against the US would bring the most horrific retaliation imaginable. That prospect has deterred every other nuclear power from attacking the US for roughly 60 years, but these crazies want us to believe that Iran would, for some reason be different.

The Right is out of ideas. It's left with shouting, fearmongering and making up facts. It is intellectually dead.

  • Ever get the feeling Glenn G gets a little nervous

If he can't walk around with a swastika armband every few days? It's like an obsession, a little bit, isn't it? Oh well. Hook up with Gary Kamiya and sit round the fire in fresh camos extolling the virtues of the Christian Identity Movement up in the Idaho woods with the survivalists and Ruby Ridge reenactors.

  • Necrophiliacs

Earlier posters have it exactly right: Pod & his ilk are the very horror they inveigh against, foaming at the mouth & invoking the apocalyptic nightmares they so desperately hope to make real. Is there any doubt that if they'd been living in any previous totalitarian state, they'd be supporting it as enthusiastically as they one they're striving to create here & now?

The late Erich Fromm had a name for people like this: "necrophiliacs," because they quite literally worship death. All that matters to them is power, toughness, destructive capability; they're obsessed with a fetid, rotting, excremental universe of suffering & degradation. That's what their own wretched souls (or psyches, if you prefer) really are. And anything that embodies life, hope, reason, promise, etc., is anathema to them.

Just read an old copy of Fromm's "The Heart of Man" -- nearly 50 years old now, and just as accurate today as when it was first published. We're dealing with psyches that are warped, contorted, crippled, imprisoned in their own decay. And they loathe & fear & wish to destroy anyone & anything that's different, because they don't dare face themselves in the mirror, don't dare admit what they are.

  • 6stringer

There have been gads of posters expressing the same complaints, more or less, that you have expressed, so, no, you're obviously not the only one.

  • Different anon here

Or are you one of those deluded individuals who conflates a nation's people with its political leadership? -- r€nato

Right. Completely delusional to think that we live in a representative republic and that we actually elect our leaders and therefore they are our representatives. One would have to be completely delusional to even hint that that may actually be the case.

Shorter Renato: "It's not my fault if we attack Iran! All I can do is vote and hope after all."

  • Oh, my, the anonymous trolls are out in force today!

Not only are they out in force, they are all over the map!

Glenn is either planning the nuclear annihilation of Jerusalem with his Iranian paymasters, or planning the nuclear annihiltion of Tehran with his Zionist paymasters.
