  • He's Back & He's P*ssing In The Punchbowl Again

Why doesn't he just take the hint & disappear? For once & for all? It must suck not to have a soul, to lack a sense of shame and to be such a sad, twisted, self-obsessed little twist of a man. When he iisn't ranting about his importance and insisting he has great things to say, he is nigh near incomprehensible. And BTW Davey, I don't really enjoyed being called a nazi by a sawn-off little putz like you . . . .

  • Anonymous, it's easy to not read it properly

RMP is Retired Military Patriot and he took pot shots at me from behind ... NO! i said i'd stop now. the anonymous post and the sarcasm by prunes were both on page 16. if you were a different anonymous, please take the time to get a screen name so such mistakes don't happen in the future. all you need is a email address which are free at juno or yahoo or gmail and probably many others. you can change your mind and your handle at any time. in fact *I* could do so and avoid being banned but i'm just not a sneaky type. Kitt, good criticism. won't change, but you expressed yourself very clearly. i guess "I expressed my opinion before. I'm expressing it again." led to its ultimate perfection. nice sentence, jordan orlando. "he indulges the half-baked themes of his own martyrdom and other posters' obsequiousness." (sorry about the baking). i'll copy it since i liked it so much (i'll just leave out the beginning) "he indulges the half-baked themes of his own martyrdom and other posters' obsequience to Greenwald's opinions. It's just such a bizarre performance. Shooter242 takes incendiary and infuriating positions but at least understands the framework of directed, topical political debate. Other contrarian posters run the gamut from offensive to incoherent to incisive. But this guy is a strange, tiresome mystery and I wish he'd go away." strange tiresome mystery - i like it! the fact that it can't be accounted for by anything from offensive to incoherent to incisive makes it a mystery indeed - maybe it's just the one and only, the uniquely sui generis, david sugarman! (i cut out the beginning, "Is he drunk, a child, or both? Is he several not-particularly-bright teenagers huddled around the same dormitory computer? I can't figure it out. He shows up here with the clear intent to simultaneously disrupt the conversation and plead for sympathy;" because i'm not either or several and i don't have any Clear Intent, but just, basically, react. as you do - or did. (i *do* like provoking though, i'll admit that. it makes me smile. but really, what did i provoke in *you* besides good writing?) it was a pleasure reading your complaint, orlando, feel free to do so again. (as with you too Kitt, though i don't know how you could possibly go higher than the perfection of the expression of your thought as you just did). i figured it out! it is FUN! (while "directed, topical political debate" sounds tedious and renders you comatose - all the better to wake you up! iran will still be here when you get back. as will podhoretz and greenwald. and me.

  • totallyblase, who *did* you enjoy being called a nazi by?

that black dominatrix you hire by the half-hour?

  • (back on topic) what if it's NOT israel?

we all (including podhoretz) assume it is because of israel that bush is anti-iran-nuclear yet he is silent on egypt's and yemen's getting reactors via france. why? a sunni bomb to counteract the shia one? and is that from some behind the scenes work by saudi arabia? (arabia has a significant - and oppressed - shia minority ) the iranians have a significant (and oppressed) arab and kurdish minorities. one thing's for certain, any more dislocation here and oil is going through the roof. oh well, good for global warming (it's an ill wind that blows no one some good)

  • Please provide us...

With at least three examples of "left wing bigotry" - aside from your own assertions - that are recognizable as legitimate forms of bigotry, "left wing" and acknowledged as such by credible sources. Intolerance of intolerance, stupidity, superstition, ignorance and unscientific or revisionist twaddle do not count.

Well, well -- musta ruffled some feathers --

Intolerance of ignorance and stupidity, etc. doesn't count, remember.

I simply pointed out the fact that our nation is full of Right Wing Bigots and Left Wing Bigots -- but hand it to a Leftwinger to get all jittery in his seat because he found himself to be dictionary-defined as a .... full-blown Bigot. (how could he sleep tonight with such a thought)

Being at a web connected PC at the library today, i quick grabbed a small paperback, for transcription ease-sake.

"Random House Dictiony? ... Please", he sniffed.

At home with my 'garage-sale' bought OED (2nd edition, 20 vols.), i will satisfy his hi-browed haughtiness with the following ....

It sounds like you are somewhat biased and intolerant yourself in your smug superiority, occupying what you consider to be the high ground in the center above the fray, as you do. Your assertion that bigotry is a condition on the fringes of society, left and right but not in the center, is just that, an assertion, and not backed up by any credible evidence as of yet. You should use that dictionary to find out the difference between a dictionary, (a lexicon), and an encyclopedia. It might surprise you.

BIGOTRY: "The condition of a bigot. Obstinate and unenlightened attachment to a particular creed, OPINION, system or party" (didn't mention which party)

It didn't mention left or right. We went through this recently with another dickshunary reader.

He continued a half-moment later charging that I was "confusing populists with progressives" Fact iz -- don't really give a flame.

Some words are deserving of being defined but others are not? Bigotry!

Mister Hitler, however, had NO scrupples in declaring that he was both a "progressive" (progressive) and a populist leader of the "volk".

I'm not sure what a "scrupple" is. A German breakfast sausage, perhaps? In any case, we know he was a "nationalist" and "populist". You are the only one asserting he was a "progressive". As you now know, thanks to the anonymous poster, the progressive party disbanded at the fall of the German Empire before Hitler's rise in 1918. If Hitler was a "progressive" as you claim, he was the first and last one in the last century that made Jews and Gypsies and Homosexuals were different colored stars on their chests.

The Progressive People's Party (Fortschrittliche Volkspartei or FVP) was a liberal party of late Imperial Germany. It was formed in 6 March 1910 as a merger of Freeminded People's Party, Freeminded Union, Democratic Union, and German People's Party in order to unify the various liberal groups represented in parliament. the Progressives became a major force in parliament during the First World War, joining with the Majority Socialists and the Catholic Centre to form the Reichstag majority that would pass the famous Peace Resolution of 1917.

The party was disbanded after the fall of the Empire...

You can read about liberalism in Germany here:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberalism_in_Germany

As you can clearly see, there were no liberals or progressives in Germany during the years between the fall of the empire and the rise of the Third Reich. By 1933 all were abolished. Nobody but Nazis after that.

A moment earlier, another reader insisted i was "Michael Savage" or "one of his fans" because of the parallels drawn with the American Left and the Brownshirts of old.

Fact iz -- never read a word he ever wroteded -- seemed like a fat noisy slob of a fellow to me (if he be the same fellow i sawed on the boobtube) --

As already noted, Savage is an idiot and not a reputable source on anything but herbal remedies or some such. You both spout the same debunked nonsense. He "seemed like a fat noisy slob of a fellow" to you. What does that make you?

Fact iz -- i've voted in every election possible, but never once for the republican bloke running.

If you lived in New York, California or Mass., that might mean something, but not much. You don't.

So the charge simply shows the accuser as being a dim thinker, given to quickly compartamentalizing every "enemy" who ruffles his feathers & makes him feel bad about himself.

You make most people around here uncomfortable because you are so stupid. After that, we thank the FSM that we aren't like you with an empty head full of right wing mush.

Such is what was alluded to when I suggested that both the Right & the Left across our sunny land are die-hard Bigots -- Both wings, .... B I G O T S ...

    But not you! No way!

And if ye denies the charge ... then you're simply stOOpid Bigots, --- as defined by the OED.

As I said, I'm not tolerant of intolerance, stupidity, superstition, ignorance and unscientific or revisionist twaddle and bigotry in all it's forms. Most of which you exhibit, ergo, I am not tolerant of you.
