My dad was a colonel in the Army, and he could indulge himself from time to time reminiscing about times he'd been "blunt" (his word) with a fellow officer.
Even so, I must admit I find it shocking that a colonel in the United States Army, or anyone ostensibly involved in public relations, could write such snark to a member of the public.
