The truth is you are just unwilling to allow that some folks give it a shot, are never really able to choke it down and would also say they "didn't (couldn't) inhale" when asked. For my part, I tried and could inhale (after some choking) and unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, was able to do so more than a few times in my life. I had a sister that wanted to try it, so, when she was old enough, I sat her down and let her try. She tried and choked, gaged and didn't "inhale" in the sense that you and I know of. All it took was one toke -- she didn't like it and never did it again.
Agreed, there are *some* people who can't stomach it.. But they really aren't all that common in my extensive experience.
Clinton was no stranger to lying and I strongly suspect he was lying about not inhaling.
I have no proof but that is my opinion.

Wander..
What an odd thing to say. Do you honestly believe in this kind of hyper-partisan behavior? Do you truly find it baffling that a good politician performing reasonably well at his duties in office should have broad appeal?
Clinton's appeal is not as broad as you might wish. There is roughly half the population that hates him with a burning passion. The percentage of CDS sufferers where I live is considerably higher than that where I live.
Among other things, Clinton signed NAFTA, about which Ross Perot was correct when he spoke of the "giant sucking sound" of jobs leaving the USA.
Why liberals should idolize "the best Republican president in decades" I have not a clue.

It's All Relative
Compared to what we got now, Nixon looked good . . .
that's why certain people like Clinton. And I guess why some folks hate him.
And believe it or not, there are people out there who would like to see RR's befuddled image on Mt. Rushmore. Strange old world, innit??

When Aycharaych writes...
I already wrote, torture is torture is torture.
When we discuss torture why should we avoid discussing the torture that goes on in our own "justice" system [in prisons]?
Torture which is condoned not only by the President and Vice President but by practically every politician in America.
I know why domestic torture goes almost entirely unremarked upon, it is a bipartisan issue, an issue on which both liberals and conservatives agree for the most part.
And that is the horror of it, the ubiquitousness of the support for such a foul policy.
There is no reasonable or moral counter to it. S/he is entirely correct.

DOPEY-WHY WHEN CONFRONTED WITH A DILEMNA, YOU TALK ABOUT ANYTHING BUT.
WATCHIN' MONDO CONDOLEEZA, NOT RESPONDING TO ANY QUESTION W/ A YES OR NO, WHEN ASKED TO DO SO, IS DISTURBING.
WHICH, A SMALL NUMBER OF TIMES, SHOULD BE USED, IN ORDER TO CLARIFY A SITUATION.
SHE DIDN'T GIVE A POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE RESPONSE, TO ANYTHING
SHE DID SO MUCH BACKPEDALLING TODAY IT'S NO WONDER SHE HAS TO USE A PAIR OF NEW SHOES, FOR EACH OF THESE APPEARANCES, BECAUSE HER HEELS ARE WORN TO OTHING

Benito Ghouliani
If Mussolini was known as Il Duce, then Benito Ghouliani should be known as Il Douchebag. He and the other pro-torture Republitards remind me of the Major in The Ox-Bow Incident: The sadistic thrill they get out of torture and murder is that much greater when the victim is innocent, which is why they are so eager to adopt methods that guarantee innocent people are abducted, tortured and killed.

REMEMBER THESE GUYS. THEY'RE ALL ON TAPE, THOUGH NOT HERE. LIKE 95% OF THE WHITE HOUSE STAFF
FACTS-THE ORIGINAL INTENT, THOUGH INHERENTLY FALSE. RE: EXISTENCE OF WMDs WAS THE EXCUSE FOR FOR THE CONFLICT. WHICH HAS CHANGED MANY TIMES SINCE THEN
BARTLETT, BUSH'S FORMER PR MAN, SAID THE WAR WOULD COST BETWEEN
100 AND 200M. (OOPS, OFF BY A COUPLE ZEROES)
RUMSELD SAID THAT IRAQI REVENUES WOULD LOWER THE COST, MAYBE REDUCING IT TO ZERO.
(ANOTHER OOPS!)
RUMSFELD WHEN ASKED HOW LONG THE WAR WOULD LAST, HE RESPONDED, "MAYBE 6 MONTHS, ON THE OUTSIDE." (OOPS, AGAIN)
REASON: INFLATION, CORRUPTION, ACCIDENTS, CIRCUMSTANCES OR DOWN RIGHT LYING BY BUSH, RUMMY AND DARTH DICKEY
JUST CUIRIOUS

Heh, really unpopular
Aywhatever...Clinton's appeal is not as broad as you might wish. There is roughly half the population that hates him with a burning passion.
There is something not right about you. I wouldn't be surprised if you were "no stranger to lying" yourself. I call bullshit.
You can google Clinton's approval ratings. They went up during the impeachment. Only the pukes wanted that. The American people didn't. Kind of like Iraq.

Poll: Clinton's approval rating up in wake of impeachment
December 20, 1998
-- In the wake of the House of Representatives' approval of two articles of impeachment, Bill Clinton's approval rating has jumped 10 points to 73 percent, the latest CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll shows.
That's not only an all-time high for Clinton, it also beats the highest approval rating President Ronald Reagan ever had.

Clinton Approval Rating At All-Time High
By Keating Holland/CNN
WASHINGTON (Jan. 16) -- A new CNN/USA TODAY/Gallup poll finds President Bill Clinton's approval rating riding high as he prepares to begin his second term. A full 62 percent -- an all-time high for Clinton -- approve of the way he is doing his job, with only 32 percent disapproving.
One reason: half the public is satisfied with the way things are going in the United States at this time, the first time that has happened since the end of the Persian Gulf War, and double the public's satisfaction just a year ago...
The poll of 1,005 adults was conducted Jan. 10-13, 1997, and has a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points.

"Why are Clinton's rating so high? Because the public's satisfaction with the state of the nation has dramatically improved since Clinton's first inauguration in a number of different areas. The state of the nation's economy satisfies 58 percent of those surveyed, more than double the number who felt that way in January 1993. Americans are also more satisfied with the protection of the environment, the opportunity for a poor person to get ahead by working hard, and the availability and affordability of health care. The public has seen less progress in the state of race relations, the quality of education, and the opportunity for the next generation of Americans to live better than their parents."
