@bebop-o

Now that I have wiped away my tears, I need to say this. The more you share with us the very valid reasons for your demons, the more resolved we become in restoring the dreams of America that you and I pledged to defend. The sorrow of that mother is the best reminder of why those that post on Glenn’s threads will not give up and why you are such a treasure for us.

Holly McLachlan (!) ................ uhm, yes?

I tried to post to his blogger's comments page earlier today and couldn't seem to load a letter. I got a one-liner thru this afternoon right after the hold was announced. Also, Dodd received a much deserved campaign contribution. He has no shot at the '08 Democratic Presidential nomination, but my recollection is that he can transfer these funds to his next Senate race. (Correct me if necessary, those of you who know more about campaign finance law.)

Now, what are the next moves in the Senate? What are the rules & regs governing this hold?

and the other canidates??

Great that Dodd stood up. But where is Hillary? Or Obama?

Hillary, well she isn't any surprise but Obama is becoming more and more of a disappointment.

Wow!

How about that; crisis averted (or at least postponed). That's just fantastic.

Shooter242, you can talk now. Resume your nonsense if you want.

Done!

DODD!

Show him the love, people. Dig into your pockets. Give 'til it hurts.

Question re Dodd Contribution

Does anyone know what Sen. Dodd's campaign mail address is? I will send a check by mail, but I do no business online.

Finally a Dem candidate showing some guts. Perhaps he has started taking the new medication for Dems, Spinocrat. Go to SFGate.com to learn more, and be prepared to laugh.

I need fish glue removed from my seat. Damn unfaithful Golden Mutt.

Tell Dodd this:

The Lady in her eighties may be a centurion (100 years young and spry) by now. She also told me this: A young mother carried the torso of a infant with her to the Yien Vien Clinic in 1972. The mother held the babies body in one arm. The babies head was in the other arm. She wept as she told me, but with very gentle tears over some jasmine tea. Honest. There are many sad realities.

These gops need to be ashamed.

Think deeply. Mothers wailing. Children detached while everyone is in rage, numb, and heralding curses so that a deity will be vindictive toward the neocons who deserve no mercy. Weep pro-war creeps. Weep!

I just wanted to say that.

Yellow Dog. Tell Dodd. okay.

Yellow Dog. Find fish solvent.

Woke Up this Morning.......

.........with some serious back pains. Once i read GG post today i realized it was the knife in my back the dems decided to put there. In truth i never held out much hope that they would be much better, but i didn't think they'd go farther than the republican congress to give Bush everything he wanted.

Live and learn.

I posted and contributed to Dodds campaign. I also sent a letter to Obama, Hilary stating why i WILL NOT VOTE FOR THEM, even if they are up against Satan himself.

I'd rather this country go all the way down the tubes already, than to continue voting for these clowns. The fact is, maybe this country needs a wake-up call. Lets let it get real bad already and maybe all the morons out there will unplug their I-pods long enough to realize that they are heading right off a cliff.

Not that i put much faith in the People anyway, a dumber generation never existed. I wonder if they've put something in the water sometimes to make modern Americans so damn complacent, stupid and narcissistic.

Re Dodd and the Hold

Well, there's a little democracy in action! I just a (small) contribution at Dodd's website with a (big) thank you. Keep it coming, folks!

Dodd's Statement

...is worth posting. Go show him some luv. I did.

Spread the Word

The Military Commissions Act. Warrantless wiretapping. Shredding of Habeas Corpus. Torture. Extraordinary Rendition. Secret Prisons.

No more.

I have decided to place a "hold" on the latest FISA bill that would have included amnesty for telecommunications companies that enabled the President's assault on the Constitution by providing personal information on their customers without judicial authorization.

I said that I would do everything I could to stop this bill from passing, and I have.

It's about delivering results -- and as I've said before, the FIRST thing I will do after being sworn into office is restore the Constitution.

But we shouldn't have to wait until then to prevent the further erosion of our country's most treasured document.

That's why I am stopping this bill today.

Please indicate your support for my hold by signing on below and consider sharing your thoughts in the comment section.

Dodd's Hold - Yes!

After hearing about Dodd contemplating putting a hold on this travesty of legislation, I looked into his positions and was presently surprised. While there is the 2002 war vote in there as a strike against him, the candidate that I supported up until now supported it too.

Up until now meaning that I am now, after today's action (and not just talk) actively supporting Senator Dodd and I immediately put $ where my mouth is.

Slaves

Whenever the ends of government are perverted, and public liberty manifestly endangered, and all other means of redress are ineffectual, the people may, and of right ought to reform the old, or establish a new government. The doctrine of nonresistance against arbitrary power, and oppression, is absurd, slavish, and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind.

We are slaves to the corporatocracy.
