American war culture in a nutshell

Sitting around, war supporter Fred Kagan demands that troops be denied any relief until they win.

The letters thread is now closed.

John Manning & Kitt ...

While Webb's vote on FISA was bad .. not everyone is perfect .. even everyone's favorite progressive, Russ Feingold, has made mistakes ... Feingold voted for the confirmation of John Roberts as a Supreme .. we all know how that turned out .. put it another way .. I trust Jim Webb and Russ Feingold a lot more than I do HRC(or any Republican .. including Lincoln Chaffee)

Fat faces, chickenhawks? Fred Kagan would've been just as wrong if he looked like Wesley Snipes and served in the delta force for the last 30 years.

Perhaps so, but in reality, it just doesn't work that way. The way that those two men look has an awful lot to do with what a pile of steaming bile they are. If they weren't disgusting pieces of excrement some semblance of human decency would show in their physical personage. Their general obesity is not half the story. I know of and see pictures of people who are far from 'in shape' but that doesn't cause them in and of itself to come off as putrid excuses for human beings. Not at all. So, I think you're missing the point.

Paul Rosenberg ...

You didn't even need Gallup to make your point ... anyone with half a brain knows that people like the neo-cons and Lieberman aren't representative ... Crimson Ghost is a blot on decent people everywhere

Go f_ _k Yourself! There, I said it.

Just kidding, and nothing personal. I just couldn’t resist an opportunity to get that off my chest.

I think you also don’t give them enough credit. After all, is it their fault that relentless pounding of their chickenhawk keyboards has resulted only in reducing triplicate chins to duplicate chins?

The putrid composition of these creeps is enough to gag a maggot

Hallmark Moment

GG:

The Fred Kagans and his dad and his brother and his wife and his best friend Bill Kristol sit back casually demanding more wars, demanding that our troops be denied any relief, demanding that the President call for other families to volunteer to fight in their wars

You once wrote, "The hallmark of an inauthentic belief is a refusal to sacrifice for it." These bozos epitomize that wonderful observation.

As long as they continue to be published, the only recourse (unfortunately; I wish we could sign them up) will be eloquently calling them on their "logic" and hypocrisy. Thanks for doing just that, Glenn (and wading through their BS).

I wasn't asking that he be perfect. And I wasn't discrediting what he has done and is currently trying to do based on what I pointed out. So, actually, your post to me is not relevant to what I posted. You might want to reread what I wrote and consider the perspective about Webb that I considered.

@grecodan

tired old trope, "supporting the troops" takes on a greater significance when one considers the purpose for having those troops in the first place.

Heh, for many people "supporting the troops" amounts to "supporting the tropes", doesn't it?

Different generation, same look and mentality

Look at the 3rd Reich enablers and at the neocon chickenhaks. They have the same look. Eichman, Himmler, Goebbles, the Kagans, Jonah Goldberg, kristol. They all look like either the guy in your local social security office that goes over your paperwork when filing for a replacement card or they look like your neighborhood pedophile. They are either clumsy, skinny, stooped, pasty pale, four eyed and out of shape or clumsy, chubby, four eyed, pale and out of shape. They are all cowardly, cruel and blood thirsty.

Come on, Kitt, brother.

The way that those two men look has an awful lot to do with what a pile of steaming bile they are. If they weren't disgusting pieces of excrement some semblance of human decency would show in their physical personage.

Now, that's just silly, Kitt. C'mon, you know better, I'm sure.

Transparent subterfuge

Webb's proposal has nothing at all to do with helping our troops. It is just a very transparent subterfuge to undermine our war effort and throw away the hard won gains that our troops achieved as a result of the surge. Indeed Webb hardly makes any effort to disguise this. Credible reports show that the vast majority of our troops oppose these defeatist measures. One very telling statistic is that our troops in Iraq are reenlisting at higher rates than ever, more so than troops stationed at home.

Indeed one of the major motives that congressional Democrats have for proposing all these defeatist measures is that they hope that this will induce increased chaos in Iraq and give them an edge in the 2008 elections. This is utterly despicable and borders on treason. I think even the weak-kneed Republican "moderates" are finally seeing through this charade and will soundly reject these proposals.

Back in the old days

-people were imprisoned for this "monomania" or focus of mind on a single issue in govt.

It was declared by psychologists to be a committable offense.

Granted some took it too far-such as in witch trials. But I think that was before those psychologists had a mcriteria or measurement for what was deemed "monomania" or madness.

Glen, You think I'm kidding-but I'm not.

People are dying by the thousands. Anyone wishing this on anyone is, in my opinion, maniacle.

I agree.

War is supposed to be a LAST resort, not a first resort. Bloodlust is a scary, messed-up thing.

@ nabalzbbfr

You are a Dick.

Admit it.

You some times give the semblance of an intellectual argument, but it is transparent, given your agenda, you are a dick. . .

And a dick that has no idea of compassion or decency,

who has never been in a real battle situation. . .

A Royal dick!

Saturday, September 15, 2007 09:55 AM

I think it's pretty obvious...

That Kagan has never worked in an S1 or G1 shop.

Or has the slightest idea what an S1 or G1 shop is.

No, it's not at all silly. I have posted explanations like that before and I firmly believe it. Do you think Ann coulter is good looking? If not, why not? She's doesn't have many of the usual physical traits that our society generally considers to be in the 'not so good looking' traits. But to me, she is extremely ugly. I believe that she looks that way because of the extremely ugly insides that she carries around with her, which manifest in her physical being.

I suspect that their are studies about this subject, and I very much doubt that what I am saying is "silly" or that I am, by far, alone in saying what I've said.

No, it's not at all silly.
