Backfire
You can engage in all the purple rhetoric you like, but it will surely backfire on you in 2008. You think you can dish it out, but you won't be able to take the return fire. Rudy will crush you:

Rudy is a moron who..
chose his command center so he could boink his girlfriend. That makes him a very standard weirdo Republican, but 25% support (of other misfits. Hi nxxxwhatever, nice to see ya!) overall ain't gonna get the freak elected. Nice try though! Next!

Buddy, nothing's going to backfire on me. I could give a shit which party is in power, I'm only interested in deeds. You "team players" need to quit the tee-ball squad and join the real world, where more matters than the color of your uniform.
And I don't think it's "purple rhetoric" keeping Kucinich and Paul down.
You think you can dish it out, but you won't be able to take the return fire.
What "return fire" do you think the neocons possibly have?
"Oooh, the democrats are wussies, we're burly, muscled, oiled men, who are so manly, we'd even torture children. We'll open up TEN guantanamos! We'll listen to EVERYONE'S phones, 24-7! You won't be able to buy a pack of smokes or get on a bus without your federal ID card! Otherwise... TERROR!"
Yeah, everyone LOOOOOVES that kind of stuff.
Completely empty. No content. All bluster. All empty-sacked, big-mouthed nonsense.
Not everyone is as gullible as you, nazifrappe, my bet is you're waaaayyy down there on the gullibility bell curve.
The ONLY plan neocons have is to keep people scared to death of terrorists so they can grab personal power. That's it. Everyone knows it. At my job, everyone agrees, whereas 2 years ago, that wasn't the case.
Nobody buys this garbage but you, the press, and the few other gullible rats who haven't left the sinking ship yet.
Rudy will crush you:
Let the drag-queen nazi try. He's an embarrassment to America and everyone hates him and his policies. The ONLY point he has in his favor is the nut-flexing tough-guy act that you swoon for.
If that WERE enough to carry him through the election (I have real doubts it is at this point), his numbers will tank directly afterwards when it's revealed what an incompetent, corrupt, selfish, useless career politico he is. He'll be completely hampered in his ridiculous plans, and he'll leave office in disgrace.
Convince me otherwise, smart guy.

Don't forget what a hero Rudy is. Or at least he says he is:
"I was at Ground Zero as often, if not more, than most of the workers. I was there working with them. I was exposed to exactly the same things they were exposed to. So in that sense, I'm one of them.--RG"
Of course, unfortunately for Rudy:

glory sponge, trying to absorb other people's glory while keeping a safe distance. He skipped out on Vietnam too, which is also standard republican behavior. Wow, the Republicans sure have a lock on heroism don't they? Rudy seems a coward all the way around.

The Washington Establishment Needs Al-Anon
What you're describing is the classic co-dependency tango.

In Rudy's Mind
He's always at Ground Zero.
He's just that kind of guy.
A delusional narcissist, that is.
Which, of course, makes him the perfect GOP candidate.

Perhaps so, but do it again anyway!
Glenn Greenwald:
As much as our political class disgraced itself with its obsequious support for the invasion itself, and further disgraced itself with its complicity in the endless claims (including from the General Whose Credibility Must Not Be Questioned) that things were going well when the opposite was true, their behavior over the last twelve months -- when even they admit that the war is a failure and keep promising to support withdrawal only never to do so -- is the undeniable evidence of how corrupt and worthless they really are.
In addition to this and in spite of this they are doing, and WILL do again, precisely the same thing when it comes time for Bushie's push to attack Iran. There has been NO questioning the nonsense spouted by BushCo and his AEI minions about how Iran (now) is the biggest, baddest, most evil country that has ever existed. In fact, the are part of BushCo. They have learned NOTHING from their past stupidity, gullibility, and culpability. They are very much like Democrats in this regard. They repeat the very same errors again and again and again and always take exactly the wrong lesson from it every time.

Re: Rudy
You forgot to mention his (third!) wife-- real first lady material. NOT!

Yeah, but I lose track...
You forgot to mention his (third!) wife-- real first lady material. NOT!
-- Karen M
Is Hanover the second and Judy Nathan the third or what? It is so hard to keep up with the mistresses and wives of the "family values" Republican party members! At least Rudy only seems to be a cross-dresser and not a toe-tapping airport restroom patron, but who knows, maybe that will come out too!
