It's sad
that RealName only posts as anonymous these days. Because obviously, _I'm_ anonymous.

@prunes
You said:
"If the Saudi terrorists were pissed about deforestation in Alaska, would we be justified in bombing Eskimos?"
Beautiful. Thank you. Best illumination of bad logic e v e r.

Finally, a sensible suggestion from nabalzbbfr
I have no problem with shipping Madonna and Britney off to Waziristan. Add Lindsay to the list as well.
And Ann Coulter and Michele Malkin. They should be right at home within such environment.
You as well, I'm sure.

Indisputable facts
Let's just list some facts, with no analysis or conclusions drawn from them, shall we?
1) Imam Shahin, leader of the North American Imams Federation and spokesman for the infamous flying imams, worked for KindHearts, linked by the US Justice Department to Hamas. He also represented two Muslims who were removed from an America West flight for twice trying to open the cockpit, actions that led the FBI to suspect they were doing 9/11 dry runs.
2) The largest mainstream Muslim organization in the US, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the criminal trial of the Holy Land Foundation, charged (like Shahin's KindHearts) with supporting Hamas.
3) A quarter of Muslims in America, when polled, supported suicide bombing in defence of Islam. Approximately the same number could not or would not state an unfavorable opinion of al Qaeda.
I think that anyone who derives a benign picture of Islam in America from these facts is engaging in wishful thinking or deliberate mendacity. But that's just my opinion, right?
Oh, and on the Ward Churchill front, let's throw in this fact:
4) Ward Churchill claims that the 9/11 hijackers, who he termed "combat teams", were motivated by a sense of revenge and retailiation against the USA for its actions in Iraq 1990-2001.
Churchill is horrifically damaging to his own cause, of course, and I am not surprised to see everyone distancing themselves from that bag of human excrement. There are plenty of people, however, who agree with his analysis - Pantanal has written something similar earlier this week on Salon letters - and to many folks he is the embodiment of the leftist position on terrorism.
Now that's reality.

What the hell...

as long as we are at it (not that I approve of this sort of thing): Ted Nugent, Commander Codpiece, Big Time, Doug "Stupidest man on the planet" Feith, Paul "spit hair" Wolfie, Condo "Do you like my shoes?" Rice, John "small price" Boner, Newt "Cristian values" Grincher, Rudy "WTC Lovenest" Guliani, Mitt "I'll never live up to my father, just like W" Romney, Fred "I play a tough guy just like Reagan" Thompson, Etc.
It would be a great billing: "Cage match in the Cave", but "our" team would cower in the corner peeing their pants. This does not make good TeeVee.

Leftist Point Of Terrorism?? GAL
Golden Shower Boy opines:
"Ward Churchill claims that the 9/11 hijackers, who he termed "combat teams", were motivated by a sense of revenge and retailiation against the USA for its actions in Iraq 1990-2001."
And your point would be?? That they were motivated because "they hate our freedoms", as one famous wag once put it?
" . . . I am not surprised to see everyone distancing themselves from that bag of human excrement."
And then you follow with this:
"There are plenty of people, however, who agree with his analysis - Pantanal has written something similar earlier this week on Salon letters - and to many folks he is the embodiment of the leftist position on terrorism."
WTF are you nattering on about?? Distancing themselves yet at the same time agreeing? Kind of like, "I hate Bush but I agree with everything he says and I support him."
"Now that's reality."
Yep, if you live in LaLa Land . . .

Golden Boy, why don't you go shit your pants somewhere else. You're stinkin' up the joint.

So, anything to say about the other three facts I listed? No? Well, that's not surprising.
Let's talk about Ward Churchill, then. Everyone here on this thread is distancing themselves from him, although he still has plenty of support in the larger world. He has become, for many people, the face of leftist anti-Americanism.
Do you care to dispute any of this, or any of the facts I listed in my last post? I sympathize; the facts are not kind to apologists for Islam.

@GoldenBoy
I don't intend to condone suicide bombing, but let me ask you a question.
If some group you were closely affiliated with, your race let's say, were considered a threat by a foreign power which then proceeded to rain hell and damnation on your neighbors, friends and relatives; if you saw babies blown apart; if you saw children die slow painful deaths, perhaps your own children; if this continued for years, with no end in sight; if you felt all hope for a better tomorrow were lost; if finally you had no friends or family left - what would you do?
The last estimate I saw put the total number of Iraq casualties at ~650,000. Personally, I don't think those numbers mean anything. It would only take one number to turn me into a stark raving madman. Kill my child. Hurt my family. Are you any different? Is anyone?
And this is how violence begets violence. Our solution? Give everyone weapons, and hope the recipients will be grateful enough to be on our side.
Conflating Islam with suicide bombing is patently ridiculous. These acts are only incidentally connected to a religion - these are the acts of damaged people - it doesn't really matter where they are from. Their countries - their brothers - are burning, and you're pointing fingers and trying to blame the victims. Who launched preemptive strikes on false pretenses? Who is handing out weapons like candy?
Where is Osama? Oh yeah, he's hiding in Pakistan, where our warmongering has made him into a national hero. Why, you ask, why?! Why don't those poor brown people appreciate all the help we're giving them? Why do they hate us so much? Why do they love that terrorist Osama who gave us a big kick in the ass? Why?!
The only thing I don't understand is why these things require an explanation.
