Where's Mike Godwin when we need him?
I think Mike Godwin needs to add a corollary to his famous law, we just need a name for it:
1) As an online discussion involving Islam grows longer, the probability of someone bringing up Ward Churchill – the least important (and relevant) person in the universe – approaches one.
2) The first person to bring up Ward Churchill (as some sort of representative of any major group or set of ideas in the U.S.) immediately forfeits the argument, exposing himself as an absolute ass.
Churchill's corollary? Hmmm.

It turns out that there IS a group in Gaza that would behead Britney and Madonna.

OBL is number 1. Every other Muslim who has ever even spoken to a relative of OBL is Al Qaeda's Number 2 operative. A lot of the latter have been killed per the Bush Admin, but they are legion.
Heh, Bush himself is more closely linked to OBL than some of these guys they've dragged in.

For some reason, the "flying imams" incident seems to be central to Muslim apologists. I am not exactly sure why this is, but then again I am also baffled by the idea of progressives defending the rotten ideology of Islam.

Ahem. Flying Imams are central to Islamophobes, begging your pardon. It wasn't the "Islamic appologists" who called law enforcement to ensure flying Imams can pray undisturbed. It was the Islamophobes who did. That's how the whole thing saw daylight in the first place, if I recall correctly.
True, the absurdity of this incident, the embaressment that it caused all civilized Americans did compell them to speak out in response. They (we) want the world to know we are not all backward, scared neanderthals.
That an intellect such as yourself may be baffled does not move me one bit, but the progressives are not defending the "rotten ideology of Islam". We are defending the glorious ideology of an open society.

So by your logic, if one of the hijackers had ever set foot in (i.e., "attended") the White House, for whatever reason--tourist, delivery boy, double-secret agent, whatever--you would consider the Bush Administration (or ANY Administration, for that matter) to be connected and implicated in the 9/11 terrorist strike. It would be a "proven fact" in your mind. That's how ludicrous your point is.

Don't you yourself support the bombing of women and children, the use of torture, the use of land mines, the use of white phosphorus in an offensive capacity, and haven't you yourself called for ramping up these attacks, even though they have already killed more people than all Islamic terrorist attacks?
And isn't your justification for this sin nothing but the opinion that we are in a "war of civilizations"? That the Muslims are trying to force their culture on the USA and install Sha'ria law? Have I got you wrong?
I guess the difference between you and those OTHER hate-filled, violence-loving pricks is that you are content to let others do your ideological dirty work.

And speaking of 9/11 'analysis', how about a debate of Pat Robertson et al who basically blamed 9/11 on Americans he viewed as sinners. God's revenge you know. Somehow you neglected to mention his ilk - though he still has a large conservative TV viewership, MSM coverage, plus the coddling and overtures of every GOP Presidential candidate.
