Yeah, But Clinton Waz Worser
Elephantman flails back (after being caught in a lie, albeit a silly one): "I note, however, that one of the 13* Armed Forces broadcasting service "channels" carries NPR on a 24/7 basis**. Given that status quo,*** Armed Forces broadcasting really ought to carry Limbaugh. For balance. And can you just imagine the outcry if anyone tried to pull the plug on NPR's leftwing feed? Simply examining NPR's content, it seems, is enough to prompt outcries of censorship."
*Actually, no. "Altogether, AFN produces 10 general-use streams for AFN stations to use." Wikipedia
**Again, no. "Interruptible Voice Channel (mainly NPR programming and sports programming from FOX, ESPN, and the Sporting News; this channel also broadcasts many talk shows such as those from Al Franken and Rush Limbaugh; it's called "Interruptible" because the channel can be "interrupted" by sports programming)".
***I gather you mean a left-wing bias. Again, no.
"Despite the commonness of such claims, little evidence has ever been presented for a left bias at NPR , and FAIR’s latest study gives it no support. Looking at partisan sources—including government officials, party officials, campaign workers and consultants — Republicans outnumbered Democrats by more than 3 to 2 (61 percent to 38 percent). A majority of Republican sources when the GOP controls the White House and Congress may not be surprising, but Republicans held a similar though slightly smaller edge (57 percent to 42 percent) in 1993, when Clinton was president and Democrats controlled both houses of Congress. And a lively race for the Democratic presidential nomination was beginning to heat up at the time of the 2003 study."
