  • FUNnnEEE!

YellowDog: Sorry About Your Penis" or SAYP!

    -------

    Now that's hysterical!

  • That’s a tough call, Professor

"Can't it be about the stupidity rather than the hypocrisy?” The Professor Wednesday, September 5, 2007 01:25

Yeah, but this is so much more fun!!

And it’s so hard to choose between stupidity and hypocrisy when they are both so abundantly available.

    (remember Larry Craig???)

  • Richard Clarke

What bullshit! Clarke gave Bush exactly one warning about terrorism, and it was about the threat of cyber terrorism.

    Yeah! Wait, what's this:

...We URGENTLY need a principals review of the Al Qida network..."

Sorry for the interruption, you were saying something about Google? Oh yes...

You may be able to fool the other gullible liberals around here, but anyone who can spell "Google" can quickly prove you a liar, pantanel.

    Do go on...

  • hornet driver

Please, enough already with the August report! It said "bin Laden determined to strike in the US" which (a) not news and (b) very non-specific.

Do you know what Bush said to his CIA briefer when he was briefed on this non-specific memo?

    "Well, you've covered your ass"

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/06/19/AR2006061901211.html

So spare us poor benighted Bush, who was warned about a group determined to attack in America, whose own Terrorism Czar was trying in vain to tell him about, who instead of activating the full might of the US intelligence and law enforcement appartus to uncover this attack...went on vacation.

To date, I have never heard evidence of a single thing bush did to combat terrorism, or repay al Qaeda for the Cole bombing Conservatives are so upset Clinton didn't bomb someone for, until after 9-11.

  • Clinton's penis forever

You guys never give up, do you? And why Hornet Driver? Why not Joe or Sam? I'll venture a guess. You chose the handle for the same reason GWB put on the flight suit: the codpiece credibility factor.

Sorry, whoever you are. The civilians who pay for your jet fuel measure credibility by their own standards, and we Camry drivers aren't impressed.

  • Carrier stopped?

Plus, he had to stop the carrier, delaying the shore leave of 5000 sailors, just for a fucking joyride? -- Scientician

Do you mean he had to stop the carrier so he could land or just that the carrier had to break off to meet him? If you meant the former... not to quibble, and I may be wrong about that particular occasion, but most of the time carriers are not stopped when planes are landing. Especially fighter jets. It is my understanding that it is much easier for the pilot to land if the carrier is traveling balls out into the wind. Perhaps a Squid will pipe up if I am wrong here, but I am fairly sure I am not. I know for a fact that true for take off. It is much easier for a fighter jet to get off the deck if the carrier is traveling into the wind.

Again not to detract from your comment... I agree he is an overgrown child who gets his off on his little power trips.

  • Oh...THIS Newsmax

    http://archive.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2002/8/16/160324.shtml

Of course since the utter lack of WMD's in Iraq only exists in my small worldview, I stand corrected. Newsmax is a fine news source and its only my closed-mindedness and their abysmal track record which leads me to the conclusion that Mr hornet is a first class dupe.

  • Hornet Driver

    Waiting!

By the way. What was the strange thing Bush did to try to prevent the 9/11 attacks?

Bush did nothing to try to prevent the 9/11 attacks.

    That's what was so strange.

We do know that Bushites were highly motivated to allow the attacks to occur, and we know this from Bushites:

    http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2007/09/04/addington/

Oh, and you're attempting to blame Bush's failures on 9/11 on Clinton. Clinton wasn't president on 9/11. Bush was. Clinton hadn't been in office for months. Perhaps you were unaware of that. Or perhaps you're just trying to obfuscate that simple fact.

Find yourself another straw man, neocon.

  • @GG re:Title

Glenn, it needs work but how about [main]: "There, but for the Grace of God..." [sub]: "He-Man" idolatry as Republican mythos".

Apologies if you've seen something like this already. I'm at a conference, a few drinks in, no time to read all comments prior to collapse.

  • Hornet? More like a gnat.

Wow. I really stepped in it. Sorry Scientician. I didn't see all of this back and forth with the "Yuma long-hair." Holy crap that guy is an embarrassment. Keep at him you guys -- though, from what I can tell, he probably isn't worth the effort.

  • @ adnoto

They didn't stop the carrier for the landing. They delayed its arrival into port in San Diego so the the Pres. could fly out to it. It literally circled offshore waiting for the photo-op.

Yes I realize what he meant now. Thanks for the heads up none-the-less. I just feel like an ass for bringing up what I thought was a fun little tidbit right in the middle of a knock-down drag-out. I just wasn't paying enough attention.

If it weren't the Muslims it would be the Chinese or the Russians or the atheists or the liberals. Authoritarians need an enemy, both to define themselves as the good guys in a black-and-white world, and to serve as a target for the anger and frustration that builds up from childhood mistreatment. Conservatives were angry when they controlled all three branches of government and they are still angry.

Wars are born from such anger, wars over property and gods and dynasties. They can't help themselves; they lust and yearn and beg and lie for war, to destroy as they were destroyed. The key to our behavior lies in the human heart. To fight it we are going to have to change the way we look at each other.
