The people who make up that Values Voter wing are haters plain and simple they always need some "other" to hate. Historically it has been Irish,Germans,Jews,Blacks,Women's Libbers now it's gays and Muslims (I suspect not only those of the facist Islamic terrorist variety) and Hispanics. How they became so esteemed by our whorish MSM has notheing to do with standing for principle and everything to do with power. I think they and the press should be called on it continually using the same reasoning you use in your excellent post.
I agree with you. There's a pretty good likelihood of Craig getting off.
For what it's worth, I read your original post as stating a personal position about the effect of divorce on children, not just a statement about inconsistency in the Republican position. A side issue, but it's odd to me that you should so aggressively disavow what seems very clear to me, ie., that, intentionally or not, the bold face statement reads as a statement of your own views.
I do not say this as a critic of the position, by the way, if it is indeed your view. In fact, I agree with it. I also agree that shifting the discussion in that direction distracts from you point. I just think you're being a little harsh on the guy.

“A spokesman for a Washington pro-family group says if allegations that Senator Larry Craig (R-Idaho) was cruising for an "anonymous homosexual rendezvous" in a public restroom are true, the incident is symptomatic of a much larger problem in America.” The article concludes with Larry Craig’s defense of himself.
The Eternal Word Television Network has a section on voting advice that cover these guidelines:
Who, then, are the enemies of religion or liberty for whom it would be sinful to vote? Reasonably, it would be those who attack the most basic rights in a society, since all rights depend on those which are logically or actually prior. Among the enumerated inalienable rights recognized by the Declaration of Independence is the right to life. The right to life is both logically and actually prior to all other rights since liberty is meaningless to those who have been unjustly killed. The protection of innocent human life is thus the first obligation of society. This is why protection against foreign enemies is the first duty of the federal government and protection against domestic enemies (criminals) is the first obligation of local government.
They are also enemies of religion and liberty who attack the most basic cell of society, marriage and family. A society that doesn't foster the life-long commitment of a man and a woman to each other and their children is self-destructing. Granting that we have already reaped the fruit of easy divorce laws, the most pernicious attacks against the family today are by those who favor homosexual unions and the granting of marital status to homosexual unions. It is also undermined by an unjust tax system which penalizes marriage in favor of fornication.
What a moral conundrum for the church to resolve. For shooter242 IOKIYAR.

Good one Arne!
However, I would add that our favorite Troll Surge sniper, in his stupid attempt to target Tim Johnson, is merely following “the script” which includes, of course, conflation of convenience.
You will also note that he neglected to include a mentally-disabled target. That would have exposed his vulnerability.
Err,,, never mind…
He’s already done that, repeatedly.
Which is why, as always, IOKIYAD. Heh.
It may also be that more of these clowns have to worry about being in Vitter’s position than Craig’s, so they’re wary of turning on Vitter lest Larry Flynt get any more bright ideas. Who knows who else was on that DC madame’s client list (or another’s) or how many heads would roll if these guys did not have an unspoken rule about not dissing each other for sleeping with hookers. On the other hand, they can probably avoid being caught seeking sex in a bathroom, so calling for Craig to vanish feels slightly less hypocritical.
