Expose the Left Gatekeepers

Many "progressive" news sites and writers are what's known as 'left gatekeepers'. They pretend to be anti-bush, anti-war, etc- when actually they are covering for the Bush Regime.

There is no doubt that Bush's spy program is UnConstitutional, or that 650,000 innocents are dead because BushCo lied to start a war. Yet the gatekeepers continue to pretend that there is nothing that can be done to stop the evildoers from sending more troops to their death.

It's COINTELPRO all over again- the CIA/MI-Complex is actively infiltrating and disrupting any and every media outlet that poses a threat to their agenda. It's widely known that Kos 'purged' users that were exposing the election fraud. Democratic Underground does the same with 9/11 and impeachment.

The reason Kos and C&L are the biggest blogs out there is because they get lots of attention from the mainstream media- they are working together with the corporate media to keep the public in the dark about what's really happening to America. They distract with fluff while ignoring the stories that could end the war or impeach the Bushites.

Note- I want to be clear that Kos and Dem Underground users are not all fake, merely the site management. However, there are paid phloggers as well (I read recently that Kerry himself hired 43 stooges to pump him.)

The gatekeepers job is to report the news, lots and lots of news, just keep on reading about all the horrible shit that is going down, but don't do anything about it... maybe in 2008 Hillary or Obama will save us.

The gatekeepers need you to trust them- so they will speak the truth and say all kinds of great things- when it's a lost cause- but when the time comes, they roll over (ie Kucinich, Boston, 2004).

Take for instance Keith Olbermann on MSNBC's Countdown- recently he's ranted a number of times about how Bush has shredded the Constitution, yet now Olbermann does not back impeachment. They get you to agree with them, to trust them, then they let you down when it counts.

I go back and forth about Cindy Sheehan, my current guess is that she's for real, but manipulated by her cointelpro handlers Medea Benjamin and Ann Wright.

Of course it's logical to doubt my assertion, how could it be that all these people and organizationsare fake? Are they all part of a big conspiracy? Are they mind-controlled via hypnosis or other MK Ultra techniques? Perhaps it's just self-censorship- they are making good money, and they know where to draw the line, lest they lose their funding, their cush jobs and lifestyle. Maybe it's a combination of all of the above...

Another example: Remember Move-on during the 2004 election cycle? Billionaire George Soros joined move-on, and offered them lots of money, if they backed Bush cousin and fellow (Skull and) Boner John Kerry.

Also, you have to realize that this whole Bush agenda did not just happen overnight. It was no accident that Bush stole the Florida in 2000. This plan for a "New American Century", to attack and dominate the Middle East and conquer the non-cooperative (non central bank controlled) peoples oil has been in the works for quite some time. As such, the evil bastards were planning on these events taking place, so they set up this fake left network far ahead of time.

There are a hundred different gatekeeper levels, so when you wake up to one, there is another stooge ready in the wings. Maybe you used to believe that NPR was 'liberal' news- so when you stopped buying that, there's was another gatekeeper at the next level waiting to catch you- perhaps CommonDreams.org, or Democracy Now. Let's look at DN- the only alternative radio/tv news show just happens to be the most dry, boring newscast on the airwaves.

It's like Hannity and Colmes- the big, strapping, clean-cut all-American football type is the Republican, the squirrely guy with glasses is the Dem. Fox news has babes in mini-skirts sitting provacatively reading the news for the publiCons. The left has Amy Goodman with headphones on... she's got a tv show but she still wears the radio headphones? What the hell?! Is Democracy Now really the best the left can do? Of course not, but that's what is allowed... if you ask me, it's like a sick joke on the left.

What are we supposed to do about it? boycott them all? Sign up on their websites and call them out on their bullshit, trying to inform the good people that they are spinning their wheels posting at a site controlled by the enemy...

That jury duty must have been a real trial, (koff, koff), because you appear to have no idea what's being discussed here whatsoever.

This is one reason I suggest some of Glenn's defenders really aren't serving him very well at all. Of course I could be wrong, but it's hard to believe he wants defenders who just parrot his errors.

For example, it is Glenn, not I, who makes much (and makes mock) of the Glorious Revolution (that is to come). In fact, I say little about it. Revolt, maybe; Revolution, no. But as I say, if it's to come, it will do so quite regardless of you, me or Glenn. Some things are bigger than we ourselves. Hard to believe, I know, but there you are.

Further, what Glenn accomplishes, what I accomplish, what you accomplish, all contributes to the vast, eternal scheme of things. And some accomplishments have a greater impact than others. I am not in competition with Glenn, have no need or desire to compete with him in any way. I hope my criticism, whatever it may be, is constructive. There's no point in trying to cast aspersions for the sake of it.

My criticism of Glenn in this thread has to do with his tendency to mock and disparage (and as Selise suggests) discourage people who see their a world being destroyed and little or nothing being done to correct the situation. He denies he does this, some of his defenders echo his denials. He certainly hasn't discouraged me -- nor do I think he could. He's been asked repeatedly what he thinks would be more effective than what public protestors do, since he is convinced that public protest is ineffective. Instead of answering, he lists what he does, in a description of his own actions that sounds startlingly like what street protestors do, only it's not in the streets(!), and how much faith he has incrementalism.

I and others would argue that empirically, the situation with regard to the various BushWars, corruption, civil liberties, the media in general, and soon the economy, etc. is not getting better overall, it gets demonstrably worse in some ways, though perhaps individual situations, including his own, may be improving. Certainly he is having an increasing impact on members of the punditocracy and media in general. And that is all to the good.

But there is only so much an individual can do.

What I ask of Glenn is that he resist the urge to dismiss out of hand the human tendency to take more direct action when they see a threat to their lives, liberty, family, etc.

He may be right that I am misperceiving his point of view about all this. I'm certainly open to that argument as well.
