The Islamists are coming

A substantial portion of the right-wing movement actually believes that the Islamists are coming to take over America.

Irony

It's ironic that Roger Simon is talking about a religious state where liberals are killed for being gay. and how supporting a President stripping the rights of decent americans and killing innocent muslims in Iraw is the only way to prevent it.

Maybe he should say that to the folks in Laramie, WY. Or say it to the family of Matthew Shepard. Or he can say it to the thousands of gay men and women every year who are victims of harassment or assault because they're homosexual.

He's not afraid of a religious state, as long as it's his religion. and neither are the rest of the wingnuts. It's no problem abolishing the first amendment when it's a Right Wing, anti-gay, "pro-family" (load of crap), RNC vote generating machine.

There's a reason there's a separation of church and state. There's radicals and fascists that carry crosses just like there's fascists and radicals that carry scimitars. and the first amendment was designed to keep ALL of them out of my government.

I'm Still Waiting

For a definition of "radical Islam."............Are they the muslims most angry with our military presence on their land for decades?

I Can't Wait

Tiberius: still illiterate.

Now, after 9/11, Glenn thinks anyone who sees islamic fanatics as just more hyperbole.

You really have difficulty reading english, don't you? Is it a second language or did they just skip that bit at Christian Boot Camp?

@tiberius -- You know, you're right about one thing

Now, after 9/11, Glenn thinks anyone who sees islamic fanatics as just more hyperbole. The more things change the more they stay the same for the left.

The more things change, the more they stay the same for the left.

I admit that the Left did join the fight against tyranny in WWII.

And now the Left is fighting tyranny again. Only this time the tyranny is sitting in the White House and his political adviser just resigned.

These people were promised a "clash of civilizations" ... and that's what they exepct ...

the first wave of propagandists have moved on ... Bernard Lewis, Niall Ferguson being who I recall most ... but these couch-potato "greatest generation" wannabes are itching for an opportunity to watch WWII from the comfort of their homes ... they will root-root-root for the home team ... hell, they might even place a bet or two ...

In real life, they might get up the courage to give some swarthy people a dirty look and sinisterly curse them under their breath ... before leaping into their cars and driving away trembling ... and dining out on THAT story for a few months ...

But But But ...

Who is selling the Caliphate Armies of Islamic Assumption their landing craft ? France ? Isn't there someone there we could call ?

What about the Bombers ? Will they be Saudi or will they just pick up something used from the old Aeroflot yards? Seriously, those old Soviet clunkers are a breeze to intercept . Some of them fall to the earth all on their own.

Ok ,Assuming they are coming , I'm going to bet since they don't have a good Pacific Rim Contact they'll be launching from Western Coastal Shipyards in Africa and Spain , so once the Ivory Coast and Madrid fall to Osama Bin Laden and his gang, we'll really need to start worrying . Lets jump ahead in the interests of being really prepared . They send Carriers ( the US still needs carriers to "assert their will " so far from home , I can only assume the Islamic Armies will likewise need a lift .)from west African ports toward I'd bet Florida and New York ( they know the value of a two pronged attack ) and while we all know ( Ann Coulter told me ) that the New Yorkers will just drop their rifles and welcome the Green Menace ,I expect the legions of the Free Floridians ( well armed even in peace time) bolstered by the Texan Defence Forces will be able to hold the beachline and prevent a beachhead being established . At least for a few weeks.

You know , if the USA had some really good missiles , cruise or otherwise , they could likely sink a fleet coming out of the Atlantic Mists. They still have really Big Guns on the boats right ?

Shit , it just occurred to me ...that's where Saddams WMD went ...we all knew they were sent to Syria days before GW came to Baghdad, and now it all makes perfect sense . Those weapons will be coming Our Way sooner than you think . Someone pass this along to Pro-fessor Reynolds, he needs to know what we've uncovered.

PS: Does this mean that once the Enemy is vanquished along the Atlantic Seaboard and assuming we're victorious ( were it not for the Left championing our defeat ) that the right will join us in getting gay marrige laws passed at the federal level ?

I for one would welcome Islam

If it meant the violent bloody death of all the Republicans and the Church. It can't possibly be worse. Kill the west.

I Wonder If Simon

Considered the fact that by invading Iraq and allowing Iran to eventually dominate that country we will have turned it from a secular country into a country ruled by Sharia law.

Who's aiding and abetting Islamism now?

Monday, August 13, 2007 10:03 AM

Quick, help the Christians

The Christian Right dominating the Bush administration is just dying to support gay marriage and women's rights, but the invading Islamic hordes are preventing them from doing so.

Instead of NPR

I'm donating my old car to Muslims who will put it good 'use'.

This puts a fine point...

on something that has been percolating in my head for a while. I think I began trying to understand the psychology behind the lingering bush supporters and war hawks, during one of my graduate American political history classes this year, where the lone class uber-conservative provided weekly (Standard) reminders about Bin Laden's efforts to establish a "caliphate" and place the world under his own version of Islamic law.

I was trying to understand how anyone with all their chromosomes could continue to believe that the war in Iraq was anything less than an unqualified disaster and that W. was anything other than the worst president in modern history. I could not begin to grasp why he believed the things he did, until I realized that he actually believed that not only did Bin Laden and the "islamofacists" want to establish this caliphate, but that G-dub and probably Bill Kristol are the only thing standing in their way.

How does one come to believe that the world's only military and economic super-power, with a populations of over 300 million people could literally get taken over by "terrorists" or "islamists" is beyond my powers of comprehension (see Dr. Sanity in blog report from some truly mind-melting paranoia.) Terrorism, and particularly terrorism inspired by Islam is a danger to our physical safety--I ride the subway everyday--but the idea that it is in any way shape of form a threat to the sovereignty of this country is, in a word--insane.

We have spent the last 4 and half years, using the world's most technologically advanced military, that we spend more money on than the rest of the world combined, and we can't even pacify Baghdad, let alone an entire country of 25 million people...yet we're supposed to believe that if we leave, then a few thousand true believers, in collusion with such world superpowers as Syria and Iran, are going to take over the United States? No more gays, uppity women or liberals! Sounds more like a conservative wet dream than nightmare. I think the question of a worldwide caliphate comes down to that of rhetoric versus capability, in other words I would like to have sex with Sienna Miller and Gisele but my total lack of means prevent anyone (including myself) from taking my fevered dreams too seriously.
