As I've told shooter, when you do this kind of work, Golden Boy,
you shouldn't wear your heart on your sleeve. We've already established that some of your stories have questionable sources. We've also demonstrated that the inferences you'd have us draw from them are a) ideologically driven, and b) false.
Are we all academics, do you suppose? Glenn certainly isn't, nor is Mona, nor is Arne, nor Retired Military Patriot, nor bebop-o, nor, for that matter, am I. Would we laugh at how you make your living? What makes you think so, other than projection rooted in wounded pride?
Are you an avenging angel, or the victim of a liberal gang-bang? Make up your mind.

Poor, Poor GoldenBoy: King of Irrationality
My dear GoldenBoy, but you, without a doubt, have claimed the title of King of the Irrational for your very own.
Assuming that your laundry list of anecdotes are in fact true -- and I won't spend the time searching for all the references, to find out exactly where and how you've manipulated the recap to bolster your delusional argument, as you often do -- then perhaps you will tell us...
1. If 73% of Muslims in America are willing to go on the record in a poll as having condemned Al Qaeda, how exactly does that justify your Islamophobic delusion that Muslims are taking over America?
2. How does one group of students sanctioned in one university for "desecrating Allah" justify your Islamophobic delusion that Muslims are taking over America?
3. How one British city council banning anything to do with pigs in the workplace justifies your Islamophobic delusion that Muslims are taking over America -- or Britain for that matter?
4. How does one Muslim organization in America being an unindicted co-conspirator in one trial justify your Islamophobic delusion that Muslims are taking over America?
5. How does one Muslim trying to establish a training center for Islam in the U.S. justifies your Islamophobic assertion that Muslims are taking over America?
Go ahead, GoldenBoy. Sputter and spit. Toss out a few more "straw mans" and "ad hominems" and "creeping Islams." Look up a few more Qu'ran quotes, and cherry pick a few more isolated news stories while you're at it.
All the while, it's quite evident to the rest of us that you are simply marinating in your own hatred and fear of Islam.
This thread is dying out, as they are wont to do with this many replies, and this much time after the initial article.
But to me, one really interesting question remains unanswered: what drove you -- and those like you -- to think this way, to be so irrationally fearful of Islam and Muslims?
Aruru
P.S. I'm sure your job is most impressive. And I'm certain we'd all be just GREEN with envy if we knew what it was. And of course, we're all just DYING to know, because it must be something TERRIBLY IMPORTANT, for you to allude to it. (Now is that better? After getting the hoo-hah beaten out of you by so many on this thread, do you feel that warm tingle of self-importance returning, knowing that we're all just terribly jealous of your occupation?)
P.S.S. Just kidding!!! Because if it actually was something even remotely interesting or relevant -- or envy-worthy -- you would be bringing it up regularly, and hitting everyone over the head with it just as subtly as you make your other points.
P.S.S.S. My money is on Latin instructor at some community college!

In the manner of women everywhere...
Mona didn't do her homework, got called on it, was embarrassed, and in the manner of women everywhere, will never let it go.
Shooter242
I bow to your superior knowledge of the fair sex. You are a gentlemen to your fingertips.

Support?
"They actually think this is going to happen ("read Zawahiri's speeches about the Plan for Caliphate!!") and believe that we must do everything in our power -- without limits -- to stop it. And there are a lot of them who think this."
===============================================================
Really? "A lot of them?" "Everything in our power--without limits?"
Do you have any numbers to back this up? In the absence of other proof--poll numbers, for example? (You cite none--unlike the vast majority of your columns where you, commendably, ordinarily cite support, chapter and verse).

GB & WT
Golden Boy's job is to bash Muslims. He never posts here, except when the opportunity to demonize Muslims appears, then he's on it like a shot.
He has an agenda, and it is to turn Muslims into the Jews of the 21st century. My only question is what color armband he would have them wear, yellow being so already done and all.
-
@Svensker
Yeah, but the thing is, it's not racism, or hate-speech, or bigotry if a whole group of people like the Muslims, are always, "asking for it," if you know what I mean. You know, like those uppity colored people always did, back before all this "PC" business made it unfashionable to drag an outnumbered guy behind a pick-up truck anymore. Boy, those were the days to be a privileged white guy, weren't they? Practically all the fun's been taken away now by those liberal bastards!

Hitler...
And Goodwin's law is broken before the first post. Nicely done.

WT et al
WT, you are correct that I should put the personal things aside. I can tell honest things about myself personally, but they are spun out of control; Aruru's gleeful speculation is all the reminder I'll ever need.
Svensker, "Golden Boy" is the pseudonym I use to discuss Islam, so it is a tautology that all I talk about is that subject. I posted under my real name on different topics previous to registration; now I'm just usually "anonymous." And nothing about posting on the internet is my job, by the way - but there I go again.
(I have actually posted on other Glenn articles under the name Golden Boy. For example, I recently exchanged views with many of you - under friendlier conditions! - on the strange convergence of American torture methods with those used by vintage Soviet torturers)
Aruru, my point was about the creeping influence of Islam in this country. Thank you for making my case again (and in bold!)
Arne thrashes on the hook with the best of Glenn's Army. Keep waving your hands, Arne, some folks might be distracted. You've certainly managed to bury your own head in the sand.
Orbitboy, you should have read my post about Bush, Iraq, etc. It's quite a ways back, but I'll summarize it by reminding everyone that I laid out the case against the Republican "war on terror". I utterly oppose - and have written many Salon letters opposing - the war in Iraq, and I have done so from day one. I recommend Richard Clarke's excellent Against All Enemies for a look at how Bush has mismanaged our short and long term national security interests; I am in broad agreement with Clarke.
That's all, folks; back to sleep you go.
