While we wait... props to all those who have laid out some AWESOME blog names today.
As to why anybody seems to think that openly talking about nuking other countries is a GOOD move, as related to foreign policy. Who thinks this makes other countries more pliable? It makes them much more likely to want to screw the US. Do these people have any idea how human nature works?
It's a terrible idea.
To understand how serious the “serious” people of Washington were/are about inflicting justice on the people who attached us on 09/11/2001, we would need to know the truth about what really happened at Tora Bora. I personally believe in my heart that there was never any intention of capturing Bin Laden. After all, we had him surrounded for three days and did nothing until after he was safe in Pakistan. The chickenhawks need Bin Laden to play with their colored alert system. The armchair warriors like Bush, Rove, Cheney and their pitbulls like Hannity and O’Reily have no interest in destroying al Queda or capturing Bin Laden. They only rise out of bed each day to serve their corporate masters in the quest for all the money in the world.
Obama is correct about attacking Pakistan. It’s unfortunate because I do believe that Musharef has always been on our side. Obama is correct about all issues. Unfortunately, in a presidential election, the areas where a black candidate would receive the most votes have been systematically disenfranchised over the past thirty years. That has been achieved intentionally by ensuring that a trip to the polls in Harlem or North Philadelphia or other predominantly black and Hispanic communities will take between 6 and 12 hours. That is no accident. So, what it will take for a black candidate to get elected is support from old white men. I tend to think we have not evolved to that level of humanity yet. I hope I’m wrong. I do intend to vote for Obama in the primary. Why? Because it will feel so good when I pull the lever. (Upenyu – old white dude)

When he is, we're the ones who'll be cooked. Assuming we don't do Him a favor and cook ourselves first. We could do -- have done -- so much better.
Our enemies sneer at us and declare GWB the Adult, the Decider. Could anyone who's read the wonderful old grandfather bebop-o refers to affectionately as M de M, dare say such a thing in public?
Ignorance isn't bliss; sadly, it's just ignorance.

North Philly is covered up in polling places — in black churches, local schools, even in a Democratic organizer's office. Vince Fumo has a polling place in his office. Volunteers take absentee ballots to jails around Philadelphia. Whole caravans are organized to get black voters to the polls on election day. In Philadelphia, if you're black and you don't vote, it's because you didn't want to vote.
I just got around to viewing your C-SPAN appearance from the other morning. What a wonderful job! I know from bitter experience how difficult it is to keep one's mind focused in the face of such a rush of blather, and you did wonderfully well.
It is? Says who? Personally I think we should take care of the problem we have without creating more.
On the topic at hand, what really gets me is that Gates can go on MTP and essentially say the same thing Obama did, and noone raises an eyebrow.
Why? Gates is a (insert adjective) warmongering Bush (insert noun), while Obama is ostensibly a non-warmongering type of guy. But apparently not. Casual Observer puts it very well...
Nowhere here do I see working with the UN to justify, and make legal, such a military action. Nowhere do I see Obama will come to the Congress. And why is that. I believe it is because Obama needs to look tough. So he borrows a page from the Neocon book, with some window-dressing from a Harvard Professor. Who, by the sounds of it, appears as a frightening mirror-image of Condi Rice. And the very concept of "highly targeted force" on tribal villages--for those villages are surely where Taliban and al Qaeda live among the people--is absurd.
The really amusing part about all this is that Obama's position is a reflection of what Clinton did to Iraq in 1998. Clinton declared war, bombed the Iraqis without any warning or consultation, and spun it so well 78% of respondents thought Saddam did 9/11 when questioned about it two days after on 9/13. It seems that everything old is new again.
I still like the name... and the idea of you heading up Think Tank.
And now I'll have to see if I can get a copy, too.
I've been meeting with my parole monitor and I need a cab driver for tomorrow! Besides that, I've been listening to funeral dirge music all day in the truck and the sad-eulogies, put to 'banjo' music, are sadder than a flute or piano.
Hey, like a unskilled doctor; I've learned to create an appetite and sweet tooth from another's chocolate crave-binge eating overdoses, and retain an optimism. My own usefulness is questionable? Emily Dickinson said,
"Success is counted sweetest,
By those who ne'er succeed.
To comprehend a nectar
Requires more need.

About voting and hope?
Zengo is mentally slow.
Zhuansun Shi is biased and annoys William T's.
And Zong is too hot tempered from Halipino's.
Yan Hui seems to have a bit a promise of success:
It is a shame he is too hampered by some poverty!
And then there is ZigGong, who does business, but,
Still, he is too corrupt and needs NO more money!

I can No keep up.
I need some luck!
