you missed one of my favorites...
Following a post titled "The forgotten victims of Planned Parenthood", commenter The Raging Republican says:
"...If this is truly about a woman’s right to choose, I have no problem with Liberals who want to crush their own sculls [sic] in but lets not do it to babys. OK?!?!?!?!?"
He is admonished by Malkin herself 2 comments later:
"Please stop bolding your entire comments. Thank you."
Crushed skulls? No problem. Bold comments? Unaccepatable.

nothing new
Hotair and LGF are nothing. There is extremely vile stuff out there, but you have to be looking for it. Townhall.com is incredibly vile, Famous Idiot, liberalsmustdie.com, etc. Mostly the product of some other psychological condition combined with anonymity.
That being said;
Compare a lengthy blog posting with serious, thoughtful prose on any given political event, vs. a single post saying libtards love the terrorists. Which one should be taken seriously? Which one gets more attention?
That these types of blogs, postings and the people that surround them are so popular speaks to our thought-free, time starved, sound bite culture. The Blog Report routinely links the most inflammatory postings. I visit them!

The new brown shirts
O'reily, Malkins, Coulter, Limbaugh are the new "brown shirts" of the far right movement. The only differnce between them and Hitlar's "brown shirts" is they use the new unregualted media to beat up their enimies, instead fo brutt force. Of course Hitler also had a very sophisticated propganda network he used aganist jews, gays, lesbains femenists, abortion, communist.
I just bet thier assualut on blacks is an effort to discredit Obmama whtout direct hits.

Michelle Malkin is a twit, but you can't hold her accountable for everything that is posted on her site.
Should we also blame Salon for the cretin mouth breathers that often post letters here? Lots of insulting, offensive and/or off-topic letters are posted here and not taken down. God forbid you insult the product of one of the sponsors, though. I once had a letter deleted because I dared to suggest that flavored Triscuits were not the best idea. But we're talking about the thing that really matters. Advertising dollars.

The authoritarians have no...
ability to process their own hypocrisy. It does not exist, except when "the others" (whomever they are after at the moment) can be accused (real or more commonly faked). They have no conscience, no limits and no humanity. This behavior just fits the usual pattern.
There is good news. That O'Lielly now attacks DKos means he is scared. He should be. The internet will destroy him as this medium eventually works toward truth in an open source model. They can lie on their sites, but others correct. The model on which they have based their control of the message (lies) is over. Yes a lot of people still follow O'lielly, but the average age will become older and older until they are no longer there.

lone wolves
The far right haters like Malkin and O'Reilly encourage this behavior by their posters. O'Reilly called for everyone at Air america to be arrested and imprisoned. That these people can cry HATE HATE about some comments on a liberal blog, while blindly overlook the violent comments on their blogs is astounding. Of course these people have no problem encouraging veiled calls to voilence against liberals. It's called the lone wolf strategy. They make subtle calls of voilence against the opposition. Not direct enough to actually be held criminally responsibile if one of their nutbag followers actually commits violence. But that is their hope. That is what they want, for some "lone wolf" to carry out what they are too cowardly to do themselves. If we experience another terrorist attack, you will see "lone wolves" carry out violence against liberals and democrats. Of course, O'Reilly and Malkin will say oh violence is wrong, but on the inside they will be all smiles.

Republicans already declared jihad on this country, they just call it the "culture war", same objective though, get rid of anything that doesn't conform to their narrow religious beliefs.

I Envy Us - a response
Glenn was pointing out the hypocrisy of Malkin and O'Reilly claiming that Jet Blue should drop its sponsorship of YKos because of a few choice quotes on DKos, when they are on air, with sponsors, and their sites have language that is even more vile.
I don't think Glenn was attempting to hold Malkin responsible for the quotes on her site...
But i'll do that for him. She encourages people to come to that site and recite the most vial, racist things. She caters to their needs. Their fears. Constantly worried about the other. What is amazing about those sites is that they rarely speak of policy issues. It is mostly an us v. them mentality - we need to be tough, and kill the terrorists, and love your country and other tripe like that.
The open hypocrisy of our media figures is often breathtaking to watch.
