John Yoo

should be put in prison with bush cheney and gonzales as we have lost out freedoms and our country to corruption and wickedness in high places.

Once again

Once again, we are shown the danger of believing in the righteousness of your own case. It allows you to justify anything, do anything, and not feel wrong about it. If you feel you are the good in a good vs. evil cause, you can easily end up becoming evil itself, and it's only people on the outside who can see it happen.

I'm shocked

I'm shocked that one of the architects of Bush's unitary executive theory is a complete and total hypocrit. Now the question needs to be asked, if it's ok if Bush does it. If the next president is a dem, will it still be ok if they do it. I somehow think we are going to hear a huge outcry if Hillary or Obama tries to pull the crap Bush has. Suddenly all the repugs that were silent when Bush was prez, will be coming out the woodwork decrying these unconstitutional abuses of power. Repugs never get tired of being hypocrits, it's who they are and they aren't ever going to change.

John Yoo is a portrait of evil

This man and his pals should all be fired and or impeached. If this congress does not impeach both cheney and king george and start the process soon it will be too late for our country. There will be a false flag terror attack on this country by cheney and his criminal friends in order to show all of us just how wrong we all have been for criticizing this glorious King we have and the quick and short investigation after the attack will of course be carried out by Iranian terrorists. Then martial law and total corruption and tyranny will flow like a river from the throne room from the district of criminals.

John Yoo - Electric Monk

John Yoo sounds familiar...

(from Douglas Adams' Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency):

The Electric Monk was a labour-saving device, like a dishwasher or a video recorder. Dishwashers washed tedious dishes for you, thus saving you the bother of washing them yourself, video recorders watched tedious television for you, thus saving you the bother of looking at it yourself; Electric Monks believed things for you, thus saving you what was becoming an increasingly onerous task, that of believing all the things the world expected you to believe.

______

So after a hectic week of believing that war was peace, that good was bad, that the moon was made of blue cheese, and that God needed a lot of money sent to a certain box number, the Monk started to believe that thirty-five percent of all tables were hermaphrodites, and then broke down. The man from the Monk shop said that it needed a whole new motherboard, but then pointed out that the new improved Monk Plus models were twice as powerful, had an entirely new multi-tasking Negative Capability feature that allowed them to hold up to sixteen entirely different and contradictory ideas in memory simultaneously without generating any irritating system errors, were twice as fast and at least three times as glib, and you could have a whole new one for less than the cost of replacing the motherboard of the old model.

Apparently, authoritarians are also lovers of the latest technology.

The question is...

...does anybody take him seriously, considering the complete hypocrisy just sited in Glenn's article?

Charlatans

It is to be laid at the feet of the US media that Yoo can find employment in this country. I have no objection to fringe-type lawyers who flutter at the edges of rationality and jurisprudence to hawk their wares. Yoo, however, is dishonest and mendacious which goes to the heart of the employment issue, that he is blatantly unethical. The WSJ knows this and still published his jurisprudential meretriciousness. Who will rid us of this dishonorable autocrat?

There will be no impeachment

Folks I got news for ya, all those hoping the dems will grow a pair and impeach Bush, Cheney and the rest of the criminals. It isn't going to happen. I read in my paper today that Cindy Sheehan was arrested in John Conyer's office. She was delivering a petition calling for impeachment. Conyers said they don't have the votes. That's this democratic congress's motto, "We don't got the votes, and we ain't going to try." Sen. Feingold introduced a bill to censure Bush for his lawlessness and Harry Reid opposes it. Censure is a symbolic gesture of a slap on the wrist, and it doesn't stand a chance of passing. They won't censure Bush and they sure as hell aren't going to impeach him.

Doubethink

My question is this:

Is John Yoo a practitioner of doublethink who is therefore capable of of holding two contradictory beliefs in his mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them or is he merely a dishonest hack? Hmmmm.......

But Glenn -- There Is Good & Evil, And So All Is Justified In Pursuit Of Evil

Bill Clinton was the direct representative of Satan on Earth. His wife, Hillary Clinton is in fact Satan's daughter. She and Bill murdered countless people in Arkansas, made billions of dollars which no one could ever find on shady deals, and also Hillary was going to invade the US with black helicopters from the UN.

The Clinton administration also destroyed the US military, taught all adolescents to have sex uncontrollably, spit on and laughed at every single Vietnam Vet both living & buried.

I learned this from countless radio shows, videos, and even Congressional actions and investigations which made it onto all the big TV and radio and newspaper and magazine networks. It must be true.

George Bush Jr. was the closest thing they could find to a reincarnated Ronald Reagan, who created all of America and Freedom and also single-handedly slew the Soviet dragon as well as giving us a free market economy by finally allowing rich people to succeed! Everyone loved Ronald Reagan, every single last American except the liberals (who of course aren't American and Hate America).

Since George W. Bush Jr was President when Bill Clinton helped Osama bin Laden send a planeload of Iraqi soldiers disguised as Saudi and other ally nationals to attack, and Hillary used mind control drugs to keep the President and his staff from noticing any warnings, Bill Clinton and Osama bin Laden attacked this nation on 9/11/2001.

Bill and Hillary thus forced the right wing to fight evil and Satan on Earth, so if that means they had to burn the Constitution, so be it.

And if they happened to say one thing about Satan's direct representatives on Earth, Hillary & Bill Clinton, but then said another thing about the Living Reincarnation Of Christ and Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush Jr. Hallowed Be His Name Until Iraq Got Really Unpopular, then so be that, too.
