  • Exactly, Karen M!

And little do these people realize they are no closer to Jesus or a loving God than the fanatical wogs nab compares to vermin

  • @ Karen M

Ah. I just wasn't sure how I was supposed to have gotten implicated in the wallowing. I don't find being called a pussy any more offensive than being called a dick; it's a schoolyard taunt, of which there are many. On the other hand, I do feel obliged to say, when such taunts are offered, that using a woman or a woman's privates as a synonym for weakness doesn't square in any way with my experience of women, who are often steadfast in the face of trials most men would shrink from.

If anything I said gave offense, I regret it. We can sometimes embed ourselves deeply enough in other cultures to come to some understanding of their perspectives; that's not really possible with the opposite gender. If I were to wake up tomorrow as a woman, I wouldn't for a moment consider it a loss of status, but that isn't going to happen. For better or worse, I'm a man, and will just have to live with it.

  • I swear I was gonna peek-in before sleep and remain silent.

The sunshine smile on a sunflower perks me up like a golden chalice. wow. Why can a silly beautiful flowers make me yearn for pleasant vagina's dreams?

I feel like a hick who is super-behind. I heard the Karl Rove was gridded about Guantanamo Bay, Cuba jail. Rove thinks it is a necessary component of the war. Rove really did say, according to "In The Loop," at the White House, by Michael A. Fletcher (Wa/Po), the inmates there have a principle health problem that is "gain of weight." Rove said, "We feed them so well there is weight gain." Is Rove dismissive or what? Cruel.

Back to the hick I spoke to at the black-tar road crew who gave me red-plastic, conical, pin-hats. Hillbilly said, "Hoe-Hee," the war is horrible! It is against all humanities preservation-interest. I got long-term and short-term memory loss and forgot what I was to say at this post-comment section, pre-sleep?

I desire to speak and sleep 'without' bounds and then have sweet dreams...good night. I no-did say a seditious, non-patriotic, or a impure thing...serious, and pleasant dreams, and I am sleepy brain to all you too. Be naughty? O. Aphrodite.

  • He just all broken up about Tammy Faye

Sinclair Lewis described the flag in one hand and the bible in the other, but it was nabalzbbfr's own idea to add the clown nose and wax lips.

  • nabalzbbfr

I haven't read through all of the comments, and I really don't want to know how necrophilia entered into the conversation, but nabalzbbfr, can you not see how your statement that God said something is somehow not so different from the statements of God's words from the people you broadly claim as enimies?

I heard a woman on the radio this morning trying to explain to the local host, a christian, that Islam rejects the Trinity and believes in only one God. Nabalzbbfr, to them you are a pagan. Your religion is older and worships the three in one. While their cultural practices are perhaps not to your liking and seem backward to you, you belief system, to them and others, is the belief in ghosts. And I mena that literally.

My hope is that you, nabalzbbfr, and those you call your enimies will all learn to live together and stop killing each other. Can it start with you? Isn't there a hymn that goes, "and let it begin with me"?

  • @nebuchadnezzar -- I have noticed something about Republicans

Republicans just luuuvv quoting from the Old Testament. They just love it! They wish things were like that now. They would just love to kill their enemies: men, women and children, even their enemies' animals down to the last baby goat. They would just love to take their enemies' women into slavery and into their tents so they could "know" them. They would just love to sow salt every which direction so that nothing would grow ever again on the land of their enemies.

They love fire and brimstone and plagues and death. They just love that stuff!

Why do they even bother with the New Testament? They talk about salvation, but when it comes to the day-to-day stuff, they just give Jesus lip service. They almost never quote Him, not His Sermon on the Mount or His sermon anywhere else. The only thing they ever pay any real attention to in the New Testament is the Book of Revelation because it's got war and famine and pestilence and death out the bazoobi and they think they've got an inside track and are guaranteed a front row seat in heaven so they can watch every teenie tiny drop of grief and end time suffering here on earth in HD.

  • WT, you gave no offense at all

...which is why my word-- wallow-- was ill-chosen. Sometimes my dry sense of humor does not translate well across space. Tone is everything. And, the "wallowing" actually referred to the other guys, not to you. If anything, I was just grateful that men were holding other men to account, and that I did not have to complain once more-- as a whining woman-- about using feminine epithets to insult other men. Really!

It was just funny to read them throwing the words all over, actually emphasizing them... satirically.

Still, I do wonder if it's possible to make such name-calling a badge of honor, if not for individual men, then for the Democrats as a whole. Perhaps the answer lies in your comment "that using a woman or a woman's privates as a synonym for weakness doesn't square in any way with my experience of women, who are often steadfast in the face of trials most men would shrink from."

By George! ...I think that might be it. Now, if we could just find a younger, hipper feminist-type to write that mini-manifesto. Given my age and Catholic upbringing (if lapsed), I'm not sure I'm up to it. ;~)

  • Michael H...

That RWA penchant for the OT is something I've been complaining about for some time. Unfortunately, it's not just the GOP or the RWA's. It's more pervasive than that; otherwise, it would be less potent.

Frankly, we need more Quakers in positions of power. [But, true to form, they do not seek it out.] They really do pay attention to the NT, but without giving undue importance to the issues of divinity, miracles, and such. In fact, they pretty much just leave those things alone. Coincidentally, Thomas Jefferson also kept a version of the Bible, from which he had removed all of those references, as well.
