Face of a psychopath

Norman Podhoretz casually calls for the slaughter of countless Iranians, and suggests that they be bombed to "smithereens".

    Glenn

Mr. Podhoretz is merely the extreme face of what passes for a reasonable approach to government affairs, for those in charge of foreign policy in the United States. Bush and Cheney have not been quite so vulgar in their defense of their goals, but their disdain for the lives of the enemy, as well as their seeming disregard for the lives of American troops is very clear.

It is unforntunate that the Democritic party seems to be as supportive of this illegal war of aggression in Iraq, as the Republicans. It is very unfortunate that neither of the major parties seems to represent the views of the common man, their wish for good accessible healthcare, education, and employment, not to mention housing and food.

The American system is broken. There is no greater illustration of this than the fact that the mainstream media would give a platform to Mr. Podhoretz, to espouse such heinous views.

It is clear that the government of the United States has so distanced itself from the people, and has so shattered their faith, that the system as it was known seems almost beyond repair.

Mr. Bush has lost the moment. His ability to manipulate the people is waning. They are beginning to see through his facade, and realize that he is not wearing any clothes. When Bush has passed into ignominy, that will be the time when the real work of rebuilding your country will occur. You, and the world, are in for interesting times.
