People such as Frank Rich...

Ted Rall, John Pilger, Jimmy Breslin, Shadia B. Drury, Cindy Sheehan, Chris Floyd and Tom Tommorrow are listed as columnists or commentators at Lew Rockwell. Like Glenn, none of them are putting a personal stamp of approval on the likes of Hoppe. It's still a somewhat free country with nominal first amendment protections. Hoppe is entitled to his opinions. People are entitled to know what those opinions are so they can make up their own minds. A fascist is a fascist is a fascist. Some of them are pro-war. Some of them aren't. It's not that complicated.

Does LWM ever talk policy or position? (re: Pro-war and Anti-war Fascists)

... Bucky1 isn't a liberal, Shooter. He's about as welcome here as Dr. Mengele is at a pediatric hospital ward. We may tolerate you, I'm willing to tolerate the pompous and pretentious pedantry of Bucky's little friend, Ken. He doesn't know any better. But don't call Bucky1 a liberal. It won't fly. "Classical Liberal" or "Classical Liberalism" may be a term you'll find at Wikipedia but you won't find at The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy ...

I must admit, after the attack on Glenn G. I thought the fellow had shot his wad. But no!

He continues on with the Nazi references as if he never heard of Godwin's Law. And then the wanker claims that the term "classical liberal" is not part of American politics! Wow, no; double wow!

a google search on the term gave me 378,000 hits back; one of which is from George Mason University. (http://gmu.edu/) but I suppose a man full of codswallop will say they do not count in his universe.

How about the "National Center For Policy Analysis"?

Prior to the 20th century, classical liberalism was the dominant political philosophy in the United States. It was the political philosophy of Thomas Jefferson and the signers of the Declaration of Independence and it permeates the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Federalist Papers and many other documents produced by the people who created the American system of government. Many of the emancipationists who opposed slavery were essentially classical liberals, as were the suffragettes, who fought for equal rights for women.

Basically, classical liberalism is the belief in liberty. Even today, one of the clearest statements of this philosophy is found in Jefferson's Declaration of Independence. At that time, as is the case today, most people believed that rights came from government. People thought they only had such rights as government elected to give them. But following the British philosopher John Locke, Jefferson argued that it's the other way around. People have rights apart from government, as part of their nature. Further, people can form governments and dissolve them. The only legitimate purpose of government is to protect these rights.

People who call themselves classical liberals today tend to have the basic view of rights and role of government that Jefferson and his contemporaries had. Moreover, they do not tend to make any important distinction between economic liberties and civil liberties.

Oh well, you all know he is just attacking me, and he will sound less deluded when he rage cools a bit. Unless, he is unstable and is this way all the time. I mean, really; he claims there are "Anti-war Fascists" for gods sake! Does he think all those fascists were pacifists? bejesus; it gets better all the time!

Anyone? Has he ever calmly discussed even one issue in American politics?

Don't bring a guitar to gunfight

Shooter C&P's: LaL: How anti-authoritarian, again, do you consider yourself? More or less so than O'Reilly? It's difficult to tell.Ken Rogers -- Libertarian at Large

Woody Guthrie's guitar had a label that read: "This Machine Kills Fascists"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woody_Guthrie

I wouldn't use a guitar. Given a different set of circumstances, I suspect Guthrie wouldn't either. Unlike O'Reilly and Shooter, (who had other priorities), Guthrie did serve in the war. He just wasn't a fascist like O'Reilly and Shooter. Does that answer your question, Ken? Like I said, it's not that complicated. This isn't just a pro-war/anti-war issue. It's also about being anti-fascist and anti-authoritarian, even to the point of taking up arms against those pernicious ideologies, if need be. You might consider staying out of this until you figure out which side is which. I can't tell if you are getting caught in the crossfire here because you equate anti-fascism (or anti-authoritarianism) with an "anti-war at all costs" position, (a dangerous false equivalence), or because you haven't a clue which side you are on.

Welkin- is an old word for clouds. James Greenough's, "Words and their Ways." 1901.

I welkin @ 3:28 Sonafabastard said it best when he mentioned,..."Wears a Birthday Suit to a Funeral..."

You got me in the WELKIN mood. Thanks. In the clouds too.

I welkin if dark clouds form and a incident occurs such as this: 'Um best be ready to puff on a Lightening Strike? huh?

Some poor bred rustic lover's traveled to Washington D.C and forgot that their turd blossoms do stink. Perhaps in the interval while they were stinking up a world, they just forgot? 'Um wrongly assumed on their wedding day they forgot to wear clothes? Or was it on the pledge to uphold the rule of Law and the Constitution on Inauguration day? Each day I see 'um unclothed and every day is Ground Hog Day? Methinks yes.

If 'um ever step outside the Nemo Fish Bowl Bellway Buckle Belt, how they gonna pop the bubble? If a wildflowers are picked for a funeral hat, and while 'um overly busy calling all open-mind-thinkers, "prick," it's time to make barley straw. Picking beautiful flowers for a straw hat a ominous black cloud formed and puffed a white un-Liker Strike!

Yikes!

A bit of rumble thunder ensued and all the lazy politico's ran for shelter at a Sop Hog Site. They-Them who wear proud labels on their naked chest were sure swooning fearful so when a WELKIN did arrive, 'um wobbled like a fat geese over to a heap of barley.

A Tax Shelter Wagon 'um crawl under and hide on any day won't save on Judgement Day. YKW and BushCo's pals are seen with arms 'round each others necks in a White Collar Choker neck hold at a funeral day. O, methinks 'um can't be shielded from a Lighting Stoke even if Californian Sonofabastard ran up to shield 'um while he was all naked. huh. At least he wears black pajama and shows some cute cleavage? huh? Who knows?

I say, "Let them neocons RIP all naked on any day."

WELKIN it is true if valiant Sonofasterd....'shad up'... said it too?

You right? I say, Okay. Be careful. Smoke a Lucky Strike.
