My question to you is: Did you fact check your comment regarding the memo's inclusion in the FR?
Just to be clear, the claim about its being published in the Federal Register was something he quoted from an anonymouse White House official.
But as common as it is, it's just amazing to imagine a journalist passing that along without bothering to find out if it's true - did he ask to see the F.R. entry? What is the point of printing White House statements without having any idea if they're true and without bothering to find out.
And read the item - it's all framed to make it seem like Waas' article and Leahy's reaction to the secret memo was some baseless hysteria when it turns out all along - ha ha ha - that it was published in the Federal Register!
