Alter and the Huffington Post
It's true that there is now a change in policy at the Huffington Post about comments. You post and there is a warning at the end now that "any attacks on any memeber of the Huffington Post community will result in you being banned from further commenting." I saw this specifically when I went to respond to Jonathan Alter's display of permanent pre-adolescent b.s. The fact is the Huffington Post is becoming defensive because people are getting tired of Arianna's constant sucking-up to celebrities for the fact of their being celebrities. The truth is, for anything original,insightful or useful, the Huffington Post is the last place on the lefty blogosphere one needs to go. If it's posted there, it's the equivalent of "sun continues to rise in th east."
