You know, you-all, especially Glenn, really are my heroes. seriously. and in a Serious way, of course. Sometimes, love is all you need. Bebop-o's got it ineffably right, again? We are a strange and wondrous species, at times. And now I'm going to use that bad word, love, to say, we didn't get it all wrong, back then. A little bit of heart will indeed take us a long way.
Which isn't to say you shouldn't keep a close inventory on your pockets when you're in the company of scoundrels and that you shouldn't always have witnesses and a recording device for when you engage them, and it isn't to say it's easy to imagine any other scenario than a war crimes trial - life - for those key operatives of Bushco. I'm stuck between wanting to leap into hope at what's happening and registering fear that we have not found the bottom of these people yet. I love you guys. Stay safe. We need you.
Now, really, I should go take the piss out of myself to communmicate some sense of irony. Irony as it's manifested in our culture has had such strange effect on us. Isn't it ironic that revolution is a word Ledeen claims for Fascism? The revolt of the little Elite? against all.....worminess? all being told 'No.'? or what? all throwing off our chains to become Feudal...tenants? I really think it's the don't say no to me thing, to the power of way-too-much. Funny how that goes with the Authoritarian thing. I wonder when people might realize - as a culture - that much of this seems to be about basic immaturity. And how to go about doing that, grow-up, while getting away from Big Daddy with out establishing Big Mommy. (Bey?)
Cheers, Here's to us, whether we just read or also write.
Michael Ledeen is the Gold Standard for pure reality-detachment and a belief in deceiving the American public in order to manipulate their support for the neoconservative agenda, and yet there he was -- Michael Ledeen -- at the center of the cabal which was shaping foreign policy and the Iraq war, operating in secret even from our CIA Director.- Glenn Greenwald
Although the role of the neocons in bringing us the Iraq war under false pretenses and their Israel-centric agenda are becoming widely known, I don't think they can be written off yet. The Israel Lobby, which forms an extension of the neocon movement, still has a lot of fight in it and can call on a wide array of influential MSM for support. The way an upstanding former American president (Jimmy Carter) was smeared with charges of anti-Semitism for daring criticize Israeli apartheid against the Palestinians is an indication of the power of the Lobby.
Sometimes I wish I wasn't brain addled. I would be able to write and express myself better, like you just did. It was an "axedent," literally. I have faith in Mona. She's far too smart, but just a bit too stubborn. I just don't trust these people. They are very bad people. They are the mirror image of the Stalinists Mona and the rest of us hate, so when I see them claiming A, I'm inclined to believe B. When my kid was training Feds in urban combat MOUT during his years as a Ranger in the 90s, he heard quite a few stories because he had planned to go into FLE after the army, and the FBI specifically. I heard all this stuff he heard. That pretty much clinched it for me. I had come across this stuff in college, heard stories from ex-federal prosecutors I happened to come in contact with, and a few friends that practice crim defense in federal cases. I have even seen an agent blatantly perjure herself in court. The FBI, for the most part (not all units and depts.), is a political mess. I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw Alger Hiss' alleged Underwood typewriter.
Hmmmm, I always thought persons in government in a republic, were the SERVANTS of the people, not their leaders.
I have never voted for a Republican in my life. Nixon beat McCloskey, or that might have spoiled my record.
When you get started on this subject you betray a great deal of ignorance of historians, and the state of the evidence. I'm skeptical as to why Weinstein won't release some of his notes, but non-rightwingers have also found his work extremely persuasive.
You are not skeptical about why the RNC and the WH won't release all the e-mails, are you? Like it or not, and I won't debate this with you further because I'm afraid it's you who is woefully ignorant on this matter still, there is no Holy Grail of American Soviet espionage, like the Cambridge Five in Britain.
Speaking of beraying a great ignorance...
And the fact that Klehr and Haynes write at a venue affiliated with George Mason University is a truly stupid reason to attempt to discredit them. George mason is a respectable institution.
It's FedSoc Central, for Christ's sake! I bet it was Scaife endowed from the ground up! Jeebus, you can be so dense!
George Mason University is a Virginia-based University, situated close to Washington, D.C. It is notable for hosting over 40 right-wing research centers and affiliates including the Institute for Humane Studies and the Mercatus Center...

I'd rather get a degree from GMU than Liberty Univ. But only if they were the only two choices. I'd rather go to William and Mary.
It looks like Koch money. Samey-same.
Here's some. Highly respected? You must be high, Mona.

This is a human arms embrace of every body's real true nature and real birth humanity... It's sunrise. Birds sing.
Through the searing heat, American and Middle East (elsewhere, in homes throughout the world, a war continues) wounded are rushed as injured comrades toward a medic helicopter. Others are abandoned in sand, and abandoned in beds with no one at their wounded bedridden, human heart side. Minutes ago, a roadside bomb blasted innocent persons standing aside crowded street marketplaces, where victims gathered to receive and muster a collective hope from a society's innate comfort and solace, humans' collective capacities. Patrols in Iraq have little time to reflect about the home battlefront stateside, and they define war by what they only can eyewitness there. It's numbing terrible. It's relentless grief, blood, screams, and anticipation of one after another, daily, those ear-drum blasting, "bleep" unsuspected IED (not a iud, uterine device, hush) explosive, body shredder, attacks, and vicious urban fighting, a entire horrible rape {?} a wondering, "Why?"
Others, with a sensitivity to unnecessary pain, in uniform or in civilian attire, rush with speed, discovered within their shared humanity, and with automatic, and with spontaneous, innate compassion, go to save the precious lives of the wounded.
We are hurting. We need relief from perpetual suffering. We need to be embraced in loving, warm human arms, and kept from harms way by ending the wars caused by the 'strife' within us. Some wounded are rescued quickly and propelled into medical systems that often seem cold and heartless facilities that serve a criminal heath and insurance, fraudulent, industry. Being swept from a blood soaked battlefield, thinking once off the battlefields, are we, will we be safe?
Is stateside safer than a war medical patch evac-hospice, where a cot and a youthful doc can stop the artery's, if they pinched shut to cease a blood flow...(*)...
...Once home, doctors, medical hearing boards, families, and communities help "victims" to rebuild lives, one day at a time...Here and abroad...Stay Alive.
People will fail. It's an individual realization. And thanks for helping, each one here, to help mend wounds, as we meet at the Salon, my friends. Amen, and amen, and so be it, and always embrace hope and love. That's all I've found to help in times like these...Thanks.
Non-Resistance...It's the way it is...we can improve our self, and that is a baby, one step, one breath, and a one day at a time improvement that never end. We are never perfect or complete, or entirely whole. It's daily caring. It's striving and aiming to do what is good and pure, and what seems right at the time. Aim toward kindness, a loving-kind, and that's not so easy in the midst of 'evil' in adversity. What a Life classroom. I need to go see the Sunday fishermen down at the lake. It's a male gossip pond. Do the fish bite on worms, guppies, bread ball dough, or fly's. It changes like the heart and weather. I'm enjoying the Sunday morn service, and I even hope a Mennonite invites me to a foot-wash service meeting.
I can bring the cream and jelly doe-nuts and a cup of sassafras tea from a chopped up wood tree root! No 'cutties!
Pure enjoyment here, and often it's an embarrassments. too. Dat's okay docs and law gals and girls. We humans still got some hugging arms and legs if we stop IED's.
Let's embrace a tree and you/me 'i' he/she we/it and i, me you thee...together, okay. How about a hoop-thee lulu, and a yap-pa yap Dada, hope we/I can invite a bluebird to p** on our soldier's, instead of let them die in the blood soaked sands in the Middle East. Bring Them Home.
