Right-wing blogs discover massive conspiracy to hide WMDs in Iraq

The embrace by leading neoconservatives and other war supporters of the most bizarre and deranged conspiracy theories speaks volumes about their credibility and judgment.

"John Loftus — formidably well-informed" -- Melanie Philips

Some pro-Bush bloggers are gonna have second thoughts about enthusiastically linking to Melanie Philips, if they take a tour of www.john-loftus.com and see items such as:

"Bush administration blocked key investigations into allegations that top Saudi Arabian royals and some members of the bin Laden family, not just Osama, funded and supported Al Qaeda."

"Sure we knew that the Saudis were giving money to terrorist groups, but they were only killing Jews, they weren’t killing Americans."

"Throughout the Bush family's decades of public life, the American press has gone out of its way to overlook one historical fact - that through Union Banking Corporation (UBC), Prescott Bush, and his father-in-law, George Herbert Walker, along with German industrialist Fritz Thyssen, financed Adolf Hitler before and during World War II. It was first reported in 1994 by John Loftus and Mark Aarons in The Secret War Against the Jews: How Western Espionage Betrayed the Jewish People."

As long as I'm up

First of all, that should have been Apocalypse.

BUt here's another theological question. When shooter called us old biddies on a previous thread, I considered praying to Hera to hold him down while Kali bit his dick off. Was that a blasphemous impulse?

I saw Elvis yesterday.

Dunkin Donuts... He's put on a lot of weight.. but still.. you can't miss the sound of his voice, that look.

AFOSI?

Air Force Office of Special Investigations? Neat! When I was in the Air Force, I worked in the HQ of AFOSI at Bolling AFB in the 80s.

Most of the mission was busting druggies and gays within the Air Force. What your guy is describing doesn't sound like the way the OSI does things. I'm just saying ...

Count me in William!

I'm willing to actually help Hera hold him down, but I think Kali is going to have trouble finding more than a tidbit.

Meanwhile

Sy Blumenthal is on day 1300 of absolutely claiming to have irrefutable proof we are invading Iran tomorrow.

an "intra-bubble" theory brought into the sunlight

And say what you will about Malkin, Reynolds or Johnson, they aren't THAT stupid.

What’s interesting is that they promoting this story, but not prominently. Johnson says it’s “interesting” and Reynolds used the qualifier “if true” so they are covering their ass(s) just in case this “theory” gets too much attention.

In other words, they are trying to keep this one “under the radar” so that the “true believers” hear it and absorb it; but they really don’t want to answer questions about this one on CNN, believe me.

This is a “intra-bubble” story meant only for the hardcore Kool-Aid addicts only. I’m sure they’re not pleased at all that Glenn Greenwald brought it into the sunlight for everyone to see. Oh, how embarrassing.

But that’s happening more all the time, and they’re increasingly upset that they can’t spew their nonsense without being called on it. Limbaugh lost it this week over the “Stalinists” at Media Matters who dared to quote what he actually said. He didn’t like that at all.

If any of the people who Glenn cited actually believed this, the right-wing Wurlitzer would be in high spin mode promoting this. Drudge would have a “siren” up for gosh sakes. Politico would have an “exclusive” ….. but we all we get are a link or two saying, “heh, look over here” for the “true believers.”

Even they are a bit embarrassed by this one and, since Reynolds, Johnson (etc.) have no conscience and no sense of shame, that’s really saying something.

Oh, Mona!

I'm thinking, tho, of joining Dave's "Mapping Shari'a in America Project," for the entertainment value.

I'll donate the GPS information on twenty or thirty "Christian" home schools within a 10 mile radius of here if it'll help you establish your credibility.

Riiiight!

What did the Terrorists and the dastardly Syrians do: sneak into the huge underground bunkers, put the WMDs in their pockets, and slip out the back?

The entire scheme seems physically impossible and can't even pass the laugh test.

Researching is "Hard Work"

Glenn wrote:

This is the individual to whom Glenn Reynolds, Powerline, Michelle Malkin's blog and scores of others are pointing as the Iraqi Weapons Expert who knows the Real Truth behind Saddam's Missing WMDs. How can anyone rational take people like that seriously ? It's hard to even know what to say about it.

It might well be, Glenn, that, unlike you, most of those bloggers and whatnot had and maybe still have failed to do any research on the Gaubaltz character. After all, their track record of doing research has been pathetically abysmal in the past, you know.

Saturday, April 21, 2007 01:47 PM

Fine, Phillips and Gabautz are right. Let's all impeach Bush together.

Fact is, Bush let tons of conventional weapons from Saddam's arsenal fall into terrorist hands. Early on, there were stories about how U.S. forces discovered explosives, then were redeployed before the explosives had been secured. Shiites and/or Sunnis took the ordnance and made roadside bombs.

The neocons didn't take those reports seriously, despite video evidence played on network TV. They like this other story better why? Who cares? Impeach Bush for failing to secure Saddam's weapons, the reason we invaded Iraq.

Maybe So, Zack

In spite of my last post before this one, I think it is possible that Zack may have a point. These bloggers and whatnot did do enough research on the Gaubatz character to be embarrassed about promoting his and Phillip's insane stories and ideals. but, what the hell, I guess. They must figure it's worth a shot. Or something.

I meant Sy Hersh

We're on day 1300 of you can take this to you mom, sell the house, I one billion percent guarantee it we are absolutely positively going to bomb Iran tomorrow at 7:30am.

I'm at a loss.

This is so deeply, fantastically hilarious I hardly know what to do with myself.

Oh the laffs that will ensue when some dumbass tells me this story in person.

Thank you dear Lord, you provide for our daily amusement in the most unutterable, subtle ways. There is no Comedian but God and the neocons are his jokewriters!
