Some OT anthrax (bacillus anthracis) facts
The qualities that make inhalation anthrax a viable weapon:
1 - 5 microns in size [large enough (>1 micron ) to remain in the alveoli without being exhaled, and small enough (>5 microns) to get through the respiratory tract to the alveoli.
The milling process used to produce spores that size (known as "weapons-grade anthrax") is something only very wealthy governments - the wealthiest - can do, using extremely complex technology. There had been no evidence prior to to 2002 that anyone other than the USA and the USSR (and its post-breakup nations) had both the technology to support the production of weapons-grade anthrax (also called "aerosolized") and the interest in doing it. Great Britain, France, the Scandinavian countries have not been interested in funding bio-weapons research and production because they would have to dismantle their respective social service apparatuses in order to afford it. Under international treaties (to which the US is a signatory), it is legal to do bio-weapons research/production only for defensive purposes, i.e., in order to produce/test vaccine, protective measures, etc.
There was speculation that N. Korea and Iraq under Hussein could have funded that type of state-supported biological weapons programs. To do that, either of them would have had to forfeit any capability to produce any other technologically advanced project (including radiological/nuclear)and to have recruited extraordinarily gifted scientists/technologists from outside Iraq or N. Korea. Most observers concluded that the cost/benefit analysis would not favor these regimes singling out anthrax for production. Furthermore, the technology involved made it virtually impossible that Saddam Hussein could have eluded the inspection teams in place following Gulf War I.
The anthrax deployed against US civilians was aerosolized weapons-grade material.
Conclusion:
It came from labs in the US.

Credible studies concerning the coatings and purity of the weaponized anthrax have been done and published. A summary, originally in Newsweek is here:

The Leahy anthrax -- mailed in an envelope that was recovered unopened from a Washington post office last November -- also was coated with a chemical compound unknown to experts who have worked in the field for years; the coating matches no known anthrax samples ever recovered from biological-weapons producers anywhere in the world, including Iraq and the former Soviet Union. The combination of the intense milling of the bacteria and the unusual coating produced an anthrax powder so fine and fluffy that individually coated anthrax spores were found in the Leahy envelope, something that U.S. bioweapons experts had never seen.
As such, based upon the scientific analysis, academic researchers have been oriented toward weapons of the future bioterror producers, not producers of the past. The bentonite propoganda is merely political misinformation provided to the media to grease the skids for administration policy. People interested in the case should move beyond historical anthrax producers.

A one man bioweapons cache. He had patents and pending items dealing with several vaccines/bioterror items. Blew his brains out after trying to assassinate a former coworker/researcher.
Did some lobby trips to Md and DC area. Possible lead. Later posts well after the fact seem to say he was deceased, I've yet to see certificate verification or dated obituary notice...
The South Africa link includes a former South African bioterror mad scientist type who shot self after messing up an attempt to kill his research partner, he was an American. In searching his house the neighborhood was evacuated and the FBI teams were called to handle hazardous materials and heavy ordinance.

The Daschle criticism is met with this- the man who ran a biomed company that featured WMD agents. He specialized in it, his own history has two links to the terror connection. The first is the current ambassador to Morrocco who was previously Angola's (Texaco-Chevron) ambassador and seems to be a strong arm in the Plame trail with his north/central Africa experience and his wife is an Italian by blood. Oil co. and bentonite...
The bioterror man bragged to have wiped out an entire village there in his WMD applications whilst working out of South Africa. Numerous sealed tapes of his wiretaps exist when he hosted parties/talks about WMD programs whilst getting investors to help back him at UCLA. He has a list of patents as well, a former BYU grad who used some missionary work as a front. Religious initiatives anyone?
The man made a visit two DC (documented) twice before his suicide and near the times of the Daschle poisonings.

Okay that means he was in contact with people during this administration's stay in DC. Apparently he was trying to get things going just before September 11th, or the meds he took just got him. Either way it is evident his M.O. fits the crime someone in that circle was probably the contact.
There has to be a name or a company mentioned, perhaps one of the Ambassador's names or a contracting firm in DC that recruits specifically from South Africa.
The covert ops way would be a double offed and emplaced as a suicide to free the profile cover and give a tax write-off/insurance launder deal to absolve blame and allowhim to function outside the box. But that is strict speculation.
