Let's see. Clearly, none of the people who think it "unhinged" to wish for Cheney's death - whether they are Howie Kurtz, or M. Malkin, or various liberals crying "this is only a few comments by unhinged people" - consider it "unhinged" to wish for a person's death. All of them, in fact, profess to wish Osama bin Laden dead - witness countless "why is Osama still alive?" posts etc.
Now, why would it be ok. to wish bin Laden dead, but not Cheney? It can't be because one is responsible for the murder of innocent people and the other isn't, since it's fairly obvious both are. Thus we are reduced to Malkin's/Howie's explanation: we shouldn't wish Cheney dead because he is an American official. In other words, we are just supposed to be nationalist or racist here. Now, that's what I would call "unhinged".
Personally, I don't wish for anyone's death. But I wouldn't really be very sad if either OBL or Cheney were gone.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious - you've all got a major double standard going here. If your side does it, it's meaningless and doesn't represent the entire conservative movement. If the other side does it, you're on it like white on rice and comments by maybe 20 out of millions and millions of liberals represent that entire political movement.

Typicaly lefty moonbat ad hominem attack. You liberals are always calling anyone you disagree with Nazis, but then when hundred of you want to kills the Vice President and one of your artists wants to stab the President in the head you libs can't even see how much you're starting to sound like Nazis yourselve. And like Limbaugh points out this mentality "... is sick, and it resides exclusively on the left."

You know it's a little bit ridiculous that we continue to watch these TV stars and movie stars who smear our leaders. I just wonder, Rob, if you'll think for a moment what our enemies think of seeing TV personalities comparing the outgoing Defense Secretary to Adolph Hitler.
I mean, you know, conservatives never get a pass. Strom Thurmond is wished a Happy Birthday by Trent Lott and the sky falls in on Trent Lott. But if Joy Behar goes on national TV and compares a good man like Rumsfeld to the evilest man in the world and there's no repercussions for Joy Behar.
You know, I think we should round up all of these folks. Round up Joy Behar, round up Matt Damon, who last night on MSNBC attacked George Bush and Dick Cheney. Round up Olbermann, take the whole bunch of them and put them in a detention camp until this war is over because they're a bunch of traitors.

Well, the United States would be much better off with Cheney not in power. His mismanagement of the nation has led to thousands of deaths, so it's not like one really needs to feel bad saying it.
But unlike Coulter and legions of conservatives, I'm not advocating violence against anyone. It would also be a lot more appropriate if he died in Iraq.
In 2000 his weak heart was brought up as a potential threat to the nation. As it turned out, the nation has suffered terribly becausehe didn't die of a heart attack.

In an earlier article, I unmasked a good deal of fury when I wrote of brain-dead liberals in the U.S. Congress. In that piece, I attempted to point out that, in his debilitated state, Senator Tim Johnson would fit in nicely with the likes of Harry Reid, Teddy Kennedy, Barbara Boxer, Hillary Clinton, and other liberal scoundrels.
Apparently, some liberals were not amused. Typical comments included:

I have not been so maligned since my fourth birthday, when my mother called me a rotten son-of-a-bitch. She never grasped the irony of that remark, but she is a liberal — language and logic do not come easily to those on the left.
In evaluating all of the brilliant comments posted on basilsblog.net, I have wondered what I might have done differently to make my point more palatable?
Perhaps if I had called President Bush a stupid, arrogant, lying, corrupt, good for-nothing, bloodthirsty, right-wing nazi, Adolph Hitler clone, liberals would have been more comfortable?
Or perhaps my critics would have been more accepting if the article had been presented in Spanish and/or Arabic?
